    The Beta enduro's are great, a friend runs the Adventure Rider Centre and dropped Husqvarna for Sherco, but has had 3 Beta's running for the last 2 years day in day out, He says they are really reliable, in his words, they arent as much of a race bike as the Sherco, but they win on reliability, and I trust his words utterly, his business relies on reliability and the bikes get run hard. Cheers for doing your thing mate, looking forward to more

    I'm really pleased you showed the new Alp 4.0. I didn't know Beta had been working on a new one. I currently own a MK1 which uses the legendary and reliable Suzuki DR350 engine. I had been thinking about upgrading to something a bit newer and this could be it. I think this new one looks great. Any idea if this is Beta's own engine or are they using someone else's?
    The only negative with this could be price. The 200 Alp is currently on sale for £5250 so this new 4.0 is likely to be much more than I'd like.😢
    Cheers.
    Edit: Just done some research and the engine is all new designed by Beta in conjunction with Tayo. ( Never heard of them, presumably Chinese??).

    Wow... That 4.0 is very sharp and intriguing. If only it had a little wind protection, and possibly a Rally tower, I would be fighting the urge to look into that one. I love the silver one!

    For some reason the 4.0 X is the street version and the 4.0 is the more offroad version. More travel and ground clearance on the 4.0.

    • @ripmax333
      @ripmax333 11 месяцев назад +4

      I once had a CRF250L and bought a Beta Alp200 to have something much more lighter on offroad, I eventually sold the CRF but in short, built quality on the BETA alp 200 is very inferior to the HONDA, same was on the previous BETA alp 4.0. for example the plastics on the BETA can be damaged and cracked very easily, they are less flexible IMO, electrical connections on my alp 200 look very cheap compared to Honda, switch gear, Same. On the road the alp 200 is more rigid, the CRF was like a Cadillac in comparison😅 but then it comes alive on offroad situations where the suspension on the alp feels much better than the CRF IMO. The seat is hard and uncomfortable after half hour of riding ,on all BETA's as far as I'm concerned they all have horrible seats.
      BUT, they all perform well in offroad situations which that are designed and focused on.

    I was really excited about the new Alp 4.0 since I own an Alp 200. But I'm not sure about the exposed oil radiator, the fixed passenger pegs, the smallish suspension travel, the exposed downside of the engine/exhaust. Maybe I expected too much sportiness from the new Alp. Maybe it's a much better bike on TET trails than its spec sheet promises. A bit like my (old) Alp 200 which is surprisingly good for TET Wales solo. Gotta see my Beta dealer in Nürnberg to see it in flesh, Günter PS: Rumours say that there is a Beta 250 four-strike XTrainer coming up

    The Alp X's protruding radiator looks like a certain critical failure when you drop the bike (and you know you will drop it!). The Alp 4.0's just looke the same but with an extra plastic piece to break.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  11 месяцев назад
