    Hi! Those aren't heated mirrors on the Stelvio, those are wires to activate the indicators for the radar reading (dead angles). I think that this year, Stelvio is the bike of the show, along with the XSR 900 GP. I alos loved that V100 Mandelo Black... gorgeous color combo (Black+golden)

    They're really doing a nice job with all their brands. They're finally figuring out the product line and avoiding duplicates, with better branding. Aprilia is dominating in the aggressive and sporty sector, while Guzzi is the more tame but still exciting bike. With the Stelvio, it's like they've reinvented the good old Caponord in a much nicer package. And these bikes really look well put together, better than a BMW. Now I want them all

    All very beautiful motorcycles. I love Guzzis! That new Stelvio is absolutely great but it will be a hard sale for Guzzi with all the very good large ADV competitors in that segment from BMW, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Triumph, Husqvarna, KTM, Ducati, and even from its sister brand Aprilia. In fact, it is not entirely sure why one would take the Stelvio over the V85TT, as the price difference will be significant...

    There is another version also of V85 (in addition to TT and Travel), they called it Strada (translated into English it's road/street); has some small differences (to make it more urban) like light alloy wheels (2kg less) and other stuff (my bad English doesn't allow me to translate). 👍
    The engineers have also worked on the engine (it has 80hp like the first series but is euro 5+ now) and on the clutches of the classic Guzzi cardan transmission.
    I know there was (rightly) a lot of attention on the new Stelvio (really good live) but I always liked the V85 (it's beautiful, different, affordable and 80hp gives the chance for some fun also), this choice to make three versions seems right to me.

    Great looking bikes for sure but i don’t like the color choices for the new Stelvio. The V85 color concepts are better and the bike looks better than the Stelvio. Too bad the performance and weight of the V85 is so bad. I also think the BMW1300GS looks much better than the old 1250GS. In the end the power of the V100 Bikes is still too low compared to anything else. BMW, Ducati, Triumph all produce bikes with much more power. This is power to carry passengers and gear.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  8 месяцев назад

      Nothing works for everyone. I prefer the V100 over the V85, but that’s an opinion not a fact. Much like your take. I know a few folks with the V85 and they are fine with the performance. I’ve had one on a tour and yes, it didn’t have the high speed performance of a 1200+, but for everything else it was brilliant. It also seems that there are more and more new bikes coming out in the 300-800cc categories as many are now realising no one needs the bigger, better, faster, more and you can have as much fun with 40hp as you can with 140. My guess is that power is important for you, so these bikes are not. This is fine each to their own and all that, so thanks for expressing your preference at some length.

    Very jerky video playback for me this time but I persevered because Guzzi have something worth looking at compared to other brands. The fine looks of Guzzi's make me smile. Possibly a bit of nostalgia involved but they're hard to fault. I will say though, the world has move on with screens. This idea of a large display where only 65% actually is a 'display' isn't good enough now. Appreciate they don't have the cash for R&D like Ducati/BMW/KTM but would I pay another £100-£200 more for the bike if the display ooozed quality and features like those brands? Yes, absolutely. I can't see that this display is much different to a Tuono from 6 years ago! Come on Guzzi bods, keep up a bit. Remember that lots of us who were around Guzzi in the past are now older and have dodgy eyesight 😂

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  8 месяцев назад

      I blame the 4K 🤣 (Ok, it is mostly me, but I'm on a tight timeline so it's all handheld... sorry about that) It's a better display than the one on my 2020 R1250GS. Bigger, higher resolution and brighter. I know bigger is great when eyesight starts to, er, mature... (mine is also!) but such things can also be added. On my GS, I use a Samsung Galaxy Active Tab 3 as my dash/navigation and it's much easier to see than the small, low down dash.

    • @chrisa7237
      @chrisa7237 8 месяцев назад

      Really? I thought the GS has had a huge screen for years now?? If you look at the Guzzi it has a big screen but the actual screen within the screen is much smaller. The sides are reserved for warning lights turn signals. Does that sound right? The Tuono I had was the same. Decent size screen but not all of it used in a TFT kind of way, smaller presumably being cheaper. Look at 8:38 and compare to a Multistrada screen - thing of beauty.@@PeakMotorcycles

    sadly with the weight of the V85 the engine is just too small. It needed to be about 100cc bigger at the minimum. Why would you choose a bike which is breathless and heavy if you could buy a used 1250 BMW at the same weight about the same price and 10,000km on the odo? it is a no brainer unless all you are interested in is the superficial looks of a bike and not the practicality. The V100 for example is way too expensive for what it is. It has no more power or torque than my 2001 model BMW R1150GS. It is for the rich elites like the Grisso before it.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  8 месяцев назад

      Why? That’s easy. I already have a R1250GS which I use for touring and trail riding (two sets of wheels, Roadtec01’s for touring and Karoo4’s for trails). You may consider the looks superficial, but for most people, how a bike looks is a key part of any purchase. How it sounds, feels, rides, etc is also important and I personally love the ‘lean’ of the Guzzis under throttle and how they sound. I’d ride one of these before I’d buy one, but if it’s good, then yes, I’d consider buying one. To me, I think it looks better than a GS, but that’s just a personal opinion. ‘Sounds like you’re not a fan, which is also fine. For you.
