I love these; I would freeze for a little bit (makes them easier to cut) and then cut them all up and flash freeze the individual pinwheels and then put in freezer bag and just pull out how many I want to cook up

May I suggest you freeze it for about 1 hour, remove and slice. Then rewrap it pre-sliced to freeze hard. When you want a few, it will be easy to separate them.

I ordered my GEEKHOM set. My wooden set is old and splintering. I won’t throw them away, just move to my outside kitchen. Looking forward to those pretty new bamboo tools. Love sausage pinwheels but usually only make them for holidays. Why wait? Love the idea of having them in the freezer ready to slice and bake.

One….we do not eat cream cheese so I brown my sausage and spread it all over the crescent dough then I cover with sharp cheddar cheese or coby jack or a mixture of our favorite shredded cheese then roll up and freeze just as you did OR
I also have browned ground beef with onions and garlic….drain and spread over crescent dough and then sometimes I cover with cheese or just the meat and when it is baked then serve with mustard , ketchup and or cheese dip to dip your pinwheel in… so many ways to make pinwheels! I actually like to freeze just long enough to be able to cut them then I freeze them cut and store in a ziplock baggy and pull out only what I want to cook at one time and leave the rest in the freezer until the next time….Love your channel♥️♥️♥️ Leave your hair long it looks great long.❤️

Leslie! I have made sausage pinwheels for the last 30 years and my family and guests just go NUTS for them! I have never known anybody else that makes them until you posted this! They are absolutely addictive - there is no way you can eat just one! I set out a plate of these with a carafe of coffee and a pitcher of juice " pre-brunch" so people can help themselves every Christmas or Easter Brunch while waiting for everyone else to arrive. They are such a hit! Bryant asked for info on how we make them a little differently. . .well, I literally spread our favorite raw (yes raw!) sausage on the crescent roll dough and roll them up! I don't use a fatty sausage and our favorite is fairly finely ground which is perfect for these, but what that bit of extra grease does to the crescent roll dough as they bake - oh my! As Bryant would say, it is nothing short of "phenomenal"! So crispy, flaky and rich and a little decadent! Not for dieters ( but neither are the cream cheese version 😒- ha!) But they are a one of those once in a while treats that are worth every single calorie!

@@marthahoward7734 Martha - we use Rice's sausage to make our pinwheels. It's finely ground with no lumps of gristle or "parts" that we don't care for.

@@TheFarmingPastorsWife wish I could get your special sausage here in Kansas City, Leslie! I lived in the south for 10 years many moons ago, and
you just can't beat good Southern cooking! I married a Southerner and so I learned how to make all his favorite dishes (which became mine and the kids too!) as a bride and they still inform the way I cook today. I'm very sad to say I can't get White Lily flour here. Next time I go to visit friends I'm going to bring two 5lb bags back to KC in my carry on! 😜

I'm on a ketovore journey, so no bread for me!

Hey! I have made this for years, but don't do the pinwheel roll but will try it. The variation I do has become our standard way. As follows: brown the sausage, I use turkey sausage as a family member is allergic to red meat, then I stir in about 10oz of thawed spinach. Blend well and stir in the cream cheese. Proceed as usual. By adding the spinach it increases the quantity of the filling. We absolutely love this and is perfect for a n meal. I add sliced tomatoes in season, of course.

I may have to try those (the only pinwheels we've ever made are the kind that you make with tortillas). I think that I'll add red &/or yellow peppers with them when I make them, because that's what my family usually likes to have with sausage. If I were making videos with my husband doing the tasting, like the two of you do, we would have the same issues; I'm just over 5'4" & my husband is 6'3" - it's a challenge to take family pictures.

Could probably slice them up before freezing, put in freezer bags or containers n take them out individually that way

I want to make this but I want to add some extra sharp shredded cheddar cheese. To me there’s nothing as good as cheddar cheese and sausage so that’s gonna be my add-on. Happy Easter to you and your family.
