    Happened to stumble on your show and I'm thrilled - I thought the media, particularly the Stateside component was totally against LIV, but you guys express thoughts that align with mine, particularly your comments on the Golf Channel and Tiger Woods. Then again, I'm an Aussie with the Shark as my mentor, so that's also where I'm coming from. We also love the underdog and hate monopolies. Keep up the good work.

      Welcome Joseph. Glad you found us. The broadcast media keeps talking their own book. They're invested in the status quo system; no surprise. However, it would be nice if they would just be honest about it rather than preach the talking points! Way too many hits on our stupid button. : )

    I just found your channel and really like your conversation here. The coverage for the OPEN was laughable in terms of how NBC was walking on PINS and NEEDLES not to mention Greg Norman and then with Dustin Johnson being on the leader board they were so quick to lower his name when he was tied with others. The more they criticize LIV and try to say that LIV is inferior to the PGA the more LIV will grow. Apparently the PGA forgot how the NFL did that to the newly created AFL at the beginning and the NBA did that to the new ABA league and it did not work then and it won't work now because when both merged the fans got a better league in both cases. BTW the only sport I watch today is golf and coverage here on YOU TUBE so far for LIV is so much better than on CBS and NBC because it's a got a new look and it's faster. The OPEN had way too many commercials on NBC which ruined it for me. Also BTW the players that have gone to LIV have received death threats which I'm sure the PGA is trying to cover that up too! I've subscribed!

    • @Gnofg
      @Gnofg 2 года назад

      The AFL and the ABA is totally different than Saudi funding a rival league. The ABA and the AFL( I was alive then) were private individuals taking their own money and competing. Liv is a government competing against a private enterprise.

      Strategic speculation on our part Steve based on various data points. Gambling on golf is already happening on the PGA Tour players; just not integrated into the broadcast in any way other than they mention the odds at times. We believe it's 100% probability on both LIV and PGA Tour. LIV has the opportunity to build it from the ground up as they continue to build their streaming platform.

    Doesn’t matter who the announcer is, if the product sucks, not enough will tune in. I know won’t. There’s a far bigger global ecosystem within the PGA Tour infrastructure in regards to the golf industry, entertainment industry, local charities and growth in the game etc based on decades of history to bring it to the point it is today. The biggest golf broadcaster is Jim Nance whether you like him or not. Everyone is replaceable. You guys seem to forget that it is pros in the PGA of America and the other PGA’s that grow the game. There are thousands. They don’t just teach our youth and countless others how to swing a club , but also the effort, determination and yes etiquette and integrity encompassing the game. There’s a reason JT, Spieth, Rory, Horschel, Rahm, Fred Couples (who lambasted Phil and Norman btw on PGA Tour radio) etc…feel how they do. You guys need another voice in your podcast to be a devil’s advocate.

Two 4 man teams: for the Saudis its Mickleson, Johnson, Koepka and DeChambeau facing off against Mclroy, Thomas, Schefler and Spieth. The pot is 50 mil and-get this-its winner takes all! Knowing full well that these families are protesting LIV his press release should say " I understand that you are protesting LIV and that I represent a charity that helps victims of 9/11. Unknown if Feherty "needs" the money and therefore had a price. We speculate that he is fine financially. You could be right but money is never the top consideration for employees except in unusual cases. For example, if David Feherty were offered a $15M re-signing bonus from NBC Sports and a $15M signing bonus from LIV Golf, which path would he choose? The answer would reveal his number one career motivation at this point in his life.
      "Earth shattering" in a business sense Kelvin. With the PGA Tour and LIV Golf competing for the top spot in the business of pro golf, LIV signing Feherty is a big win and unexpected by us.

    In less than a year's time golf has now become no fun to watch. some of the players I enjoyed following are now moving, or have moved to LIV. I was a faithful TV spectator, every weekend, etc. But now golf has become cheap. It seems that the legacy aspect has been thrown out the door with LIV jumping on the scene. Tiger brought the viewing up to an incredible level, even through his downfall, I watched for years his return, as well as millions of other viewers. To me, LIV is worse than Tiger's so-called fall from grace, especially watching Tiger fight to come back. Granted, Tiger is human, and he has faults just like all of us, but he was able to keep the crowds and viewers to stay in it for the long haul. When you try to change the style of professional golf you blow it. To me, LIV is watching a bunch of players compete for the party vs the quality of players competing for legacy. I already started seeing crowd turnouts dwindle, and pro golf go back to marginal viewing, pre Tiger. This is a sad time for golf... I know this podcast was about David Feherty, but he is contributing to the bottom falling falling out. Money is not everything. If you enjoy competing...

    “There’s new news out today”?
    You are a professional speaker. Learn grammar. There’s no such thing as new news. The first new is redundant. News, has the word new built into it. There’s only one kind of news.

      Thanks Jim for getting on us. We're not a fan of "breaking news" or "recent news" as those expressions seem tired and overused. So "new news" while redundant is not grammatically incorrect (adjective and noun) and gets the point across; which is our objective. Curious how you feel about the acceptability of "old news" or "jumbo shrimp"?

    Sorry to see he took the blood money. So sad. LIV is nothing without Saudi money.

      Mark - We're still trying to figure out what the "blood money" is that LIV is accused of having. We think that 99.9% of Saudi money / revenue comes from the sale of oil and oil based products to customers who willingly purchase it. Let us know what you think the "blood money" is.
