anyone who says "this hobby is dead" does not understand the pleasures of this beautiful hobby ,young people today have nothing to do than "stare into little screens" this ham radio thing , will outlive many generations ,I for one have a beautiful radio station witch I will love and operate till my dying day !!! keep looking into your little screens kids, and never understand the full meaning of this wonderful hobby, hope we can keep it alive in this insane world, best 73,s MOTJP DEVON ,england
Debs husband says one of the great things about amateur radio is that there are so many aspects to it! I have been interested in amateur radio since I was a kid and that's been some time ago. 😊
Always enjoy seeing other hams stations. Gives some great ideas and after all, wanting is often better than having....except when it comes to antennas and radios!
i dont live far from converse. i live in the live oak area. i dont have a ham license but i do have a shortwave radio that lets me listen to ham operators from long distances. there's a guy i listen to that comes in from italy around the 6900khz to 7100khz area at night. my cousin got me into ham radio when he invited me to listen to his father n law talk on his ham radio back in 2001. i was supprised how he was talking to someone in new zealand. every now and then i get someone in the usb 7200khz area in the san antonio (local) area. great setup yall.
I did a video response here with a video I made for a friend installing his antenna. I said no one would watch it, he said "You don't know my people..." OMG, 100k views on this great vid? How little I knew then...
@EA7HMD I was curious about the music also and finally found it. The name of the song is "Tabla Tales" from Buddha World Lounge. I found it on line and you should be able to also. 73......
Nice setup, like you i started early, and let my lic laps and didnt now and got a real nice letter from FCC lol, but im back with my lic and back on the air,but now going to upgrade for more freq and i have nothing but time on my hands.Next to your video i also enjoy the A Slute to Ham AMers.Remember real radios GLOW IN THE DARK. 73's N7SYR AZ
just re built two yeasu 101zd,s pride of place in my shack,!sdr is not the answer, love the old stuff, but "hey" that's my old way of doing things, just hope the younger "hams " think the same, too much techno these days, keep the old rigs going, love you all M0TJP,Tim Pearce, DEVON , ENGLAND,

Great video... I am just trying to start out learning about HAM systems and what I need to learn and the gear I need to get started... If anyone can can point me to where I need to go I would be very thanksful... Its like I always say... Lets all learn from each other. Joe Tactical
Great pictures! I am building my first HF shack, and have gotten a few good ideas from this. However, who is the group doing the music? I can't get it out of my head... 73deKF6AAR Denver.
what's that song? it's catchy :) I can't wait till I start learning more about ham radios. The more I look into it the more I want a license. It is worth going for the Extra license? Will the information on that exam be really difficult?
Well the Ham Community is getting a small resurgence from all the prepping community. However, I think more should be done to make this more accessible to younger kids like I think Hams should volunteer at local Boy Scouts and Girl scouts. Thats my 2 cents. KD7QHI
great video. i was wondering if any one can help me get a sound hand radio i live here in the philippines and it come in vary handy if i can get a hf radio for emergencys
I wonder if they have ham radio in heaven or that other place because i'm taking my stuff with me. u know the guy that dies with the most toys wins. i want everything.
1. a station of gear pushed to the wall is not a ham station. If you have to pull the radios out to get to the back, sompthun wrong. 2. A TS-520 is a memory from era when revrs hrd most of the band at once. 3. a huge build-in with massive audio panels is a ham station dreaming of being a broadcast radio station. 4. lift devices are wonderful. Oh, well.
C.B/Amateur? When the $%'! Hits the fan, who's going to have Comms? Amateurs, spark gap radio and Morse code! It's not sexy, but it works! You know how to build a sexy spark gap radio, right?
Them hame antannas are ugly next to our good lookin CB ANTANNAS, thats why homeowner assosiashuns let us have our antannas and yalls aint allowed. CBing is the REAL pros of radio.

to drop the stupid music and replace it with a little narration would be a good start.
