Thanks Doc for this insight, I'm kinda frustrated and confused as there some catholics who condemn St John Paul II who reached out and dialogue with other faiths calling him a heretic etc. Sigh
As per catholic mystic Marino Restrepo - salvation is a function of holiness. ( not religion). Everyone will be judged. So be Holy. The meaning of “I am the way and the truth* and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" is as below The reason salvation is only through Christ, is because the resurrection is only through Christ. The grace of resurrection comes through Christ. Jesus taught the resurrection of the dead. Buddha/Muhammad etc didn’t teach resurrection. If salvation, if it is by definition resurrection , and communion with God - it has to come through the resurrected one, who is Jesus Christ. This doesnt mean that people who are of other religions will not have salvation. Everyone will be judged at the end of their lives. Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, native in the jungle etc.. In the tanakh....there was no mention of what happened after death. It was a mystery. Thats why they were waiting for the messiah greater than moses. @@JR-tl8tg No reasonable person condemns JPII outreach to other religions, only the method by which he did it (kissing the Quran is often cited, for example). And religion most certainly does play a part in salvation IF the person is aware that there is one true religion and rejects it (the religion set up by Christ).
In terms of what order to receive the sacraments. I thought some Eastern rite Churches did all three at the same time. Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation all at once on infants.

If your native language is English and you suddenly start praising God in Welsh or Turkish, people from those places understand you, but you aren't aware of it because you've never heard those languages before. Of course you can say you just don't believe the Gospels but that's a different argument.
At Pentecost according to Acts Gentiles were present from every nation under heaven. Cornelius and his families reception of the Holy Spirit signaled the Apostles mission to the Gentiles and not just o the Jews.
Actually, Acts 2:5 states that there were Jews from every nation under heaven. Acts 2:11 states, "both Jews and converts to Judaism." Gentiles are not specifically mentioned at Pentecost. The closest it comes to mentioning the possibility of Gentiles being present is when Peter says, "You who are Jews, indeed all of you staying in Jerusalem..." in Acts 2:14 and, "You who are Israelites, hear these words..." in Acts 2:22. It seems obvious that Gentiles would be in Jerusalem and would have heard Peter, it's just that they are not specifically mentioned. Edit: Cornelius isn't mentioned until chapter 10 of Acts.

It mentions Jews from every nation, not Gentiles. If you're going to reference Scripture at least get it right. Getting Scripture wrong is not, "splitting hairs", it's why there are over 30,000 protestant denominations.
God deffinately does show partiality when He choses and selects his elect even before the foundation of the earth as we read in Romans 9 which is abundantly clear. And without His choosing, we would have no desire even to come to Him. You have been saved by Grace through faith and this not of yourselves, it is a gift of GOD. This is where Catholics are still bound by the burdens of works as if they can contribute in any way towards their Salvation. Protestants have it spot on. Of course works are important but only in so far as demonstrating our gratitude and love for our Saviour in appreciation for what Christ has done on the cross. We are not pious and religious like the Pharisees were instead we are truĺy humbled in gratetude for what the King of Kings has done for a lowly sinner such as l. Huge difference in our outlook.
Often those who quote Ephesians 2:8-9 will omit verse 10 where it says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ for good woks, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." An analogy (I admit that no analogy is perfect) could be the idea of Jesus setting up a construction crane for us and also provided a massive tank of fuel. The crane is really nice to have, but if we don't fill it up with fuel and turn it on then neither will we be able to lift the massive steel beams for continuing the blue print that requires the supernatural assistance of God for the ultimate purpose of our lives. Quoting again the last part of verse 10: "that we should walk in them [good works]", reveals that we if fail in the purpose behind our salvation, then Christ's very work of salvation is thrown back in his face as meaningless. Another analogy: If a man freely builds a house for shelter(the way we are created in Christ for good works) but then the house fails to remain erect according to the design of the builder then the house has likewise failed to fulfill its purpose for which it was built; namely, providing shelter. To explicitly state the Catholic belief all of which depends upon God's GRACE: 1st: Faith comes, 2nd comes perseverance in the faith which is Hope (because no one perseveres unless they see the possibility of success) and 3rd comes love which is the sweet blossom of faith and hope. "Faith, hope and love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is love" (1Corinthians 13:13). In my opinion the quickest summary by Paul is his words, "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision (a work of the jewish Law) nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love" (Galatian 5:6). Faith must be "working" through love. In my view "love" is simply another word for works of goodness that assist others in the process of living their lives. Faith, hope and love are all essential to salvation according the Catholic Faith, and these Supernatural Powers are supplied by God's grace especially through hearts open to these graces within the liturgical worship of God. These words may help explain the Catholic perspective or maybe not.

You don't work for a gift, you accept it graciously, especially a lowly sinner, and you show your deep appreciation for such a wonderful glorious gift by loving GOD and your fellow humans with a deep love which only GOD can instill in your heart. In other words these powers are a gift from God’s nature which is higher than ours. However everyone who receives a “gift” has a choice to perpetually employ the gift or not to employ the gift. Do not ignore the purpose of salvation revealed in Verse 10 of Ephesians 2. Ignoring the purpose behind the gift is to bury the gift. Jesus told a parable about burying a gift from God and it did not out well for the person did; in fact they were lost (Matthew 25:30).

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. Ephesians 2:10 This is the point you seem to miss, even the good we do comes from Christ prepared by Him before hand.

Your statements are contradictory and it is laughable that you place yourself in equal standing with St. Paul. Peter is right please don't bow to statues of Peter or Mary it a sin. Just like the angel told John not to worship him it's a sin, worship God alone.
