This is one of the most annoying gmail NON-functions ... can't sign out on the machine you are using without signing out of all accounts. Everyone complains about this issue yet Google doesn't bother to fix it.
Yeah google needs to fix how to do this, its problematic. Hopefully this video was helpful, subscribe if you would like more help and to see more videos.
These "tech" companies make shit so damn difficult. Tech is supposed to make things easier. This is stupid as F#$& Thanks for the video. It's a shame we have to search for such a thing.
Add a log out button when selecting list of account on gmail screen, simple. Actually just hide the log out function behind another 10 options, brilliant google
If its not working for you it might be because youre logged in to the current session's window. You'll need to either vpn using a private window on the same device to log out of the other session. Or log in using a new browser. Essentially you'll have to sign in elsewhere to sign out.
Hello Thanks for the video, But I don't have any "3 dots" or an option to use it on the same device (laptop) !! Can you pls explain how did you get those options ?!
They actually make it difficult and unpractical on purpose so that every time you want to sign out of only one account you have to sign out of all accounts and add them back again one by one. they do this because they don't want us to create multiple acounts. and in case if you have a lot of accounts and that what it is and you sign out. There is a big chance that you will forgot the password of one or couple accounts of them and if you forgot it the other recent Google update that automaticaly deletes any inactive account within 2 years would be like a hammer on the head of those accounts which you forgot their passwords. And that way they could reduce the amount of multiple accounts created by one user.
Gmail is *not* user friendly. What was that, 6 hoops to jump through every single time you use an account? They've got an agenda going on to make it so damn difficult.
Try to go on your google account settings, click on "secruity", then scroll down to devices, then click "manage all Devices." There you can sign out of any device. This process will pretty much always work, it uses a safety feature within Google to protect their customers. I'm also using chrome on the newest Macbook Air and it just worked for me.
@@TechTipsforBoomers Thanks for making the video, but this doesn't work. I tried it again while watching and pausing your video...and then again following this narrative.
You can’t logout of the device you on, you have logout a device from a different device. Unless you are using chrome then you can log out of your chrome account in the top right of the browser.
@@TechTipsforBoomers You can only log out of all accounts. I do want to log out of just one account in which I do not know the credentials for because someone else logged into Gmail with their credentials.
ik its crazy that it is so complicated. You can also click on your profile picture in the top of your chrome window and sign out that way too@@Potterii
Doesn't have the option for the desktop to log out. With dual authentication and my work emails I'm completely soft-locked out of Gmail now. I can't add another account I desperately need to add, and I can't sign out of all emails without losing authentication for another email account. Worst design and is costing me money right now.
@@TechTipsforBoomers Soft-lock is where you're completely locked out due to design and there's no fix. I managed to figure it out though. Logged out of all accounts an it luckily kept one of my mobile logins intact.

happy to help!
If I were Google and saw that such a video was made, I would be so embarrassed that I would crawl into a hole.
Yeah their system is ridiculous

Yeah idk what they were thinking when designing that

Yeah it’s really annoying I don’t why they do that, but having a gmail overall pretty useful for RUclips and other things.
My chrome browser does not have the option of signing out at all. Any idea why? I can only sign out of my phone and other browsers.
Weird I guess you just have to sign in from a different device
Not working, there is option for other devices, but on the device I'm currently use, there is no option for signing out.

This assumes you are logged in on your phone. What if you are only logged in on your pc and don't know the credentials?
If you don’t know your credentials you probably don’t want to log out. But you can click the profile icon in the top right and click log out.

Why does everything have to be so complicated? Do they not know that not everyone is "tech" savvy. Dumb it down Google.
