This is one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen by any band. Roy Khan is simply an amazing vocalist, he has such a theatrical and epic flair about him. This is how metal should be!
Center of the Universe is one of the songs which brings recognition to how amazing Kamelot is on live. Both live and studio versions are great. One of their best songs, not just in the album but also out of all the plenty of great songs that they've performed, so far.
It's almost identical, except for more improvisation and a few mistakes. That in itself is the impressive part. And of course the crowd atmosphere and live energy adds something. But "better" is arbitrary in that case, it's all about what you like. We can agree it's the best of both worlds. Good luck seeing some stupid mainstream pop band pull off anything remotely as musical, let alone demonstrating the technical prowess.
Still the saddest moment of my life as a music fan when Roy left Kamelot and stopped making music. He will always be my favourite singer and I pray some day he will make music again.

This was one of the first Kamelot live videos I've seen, some years ago. And it's still the same reason that made me wish with all my heart to him sing live. But I was never able. Hope Tommy will do a good job on Roy's behalf :)

Tommy is a good singer, but he lacks warmth, texture and emotion. I would pick the Roy of the latter years anyday over Tommy. But he left, so it is what it is.
George Jansen I partially agree with you. When Tommy is singing in Seventh Wonder, I can feel his every emotion. His voice tells the story so well in both Mercy Falls and their latest album Tiara. However in Kamelot he seems a bit sterile.
This is probably my favorite Kamelot song because the chorus really spoke to me. And was the inspiration for my first tattoo. But there is no bad Kamelot song. Kamelot for life!

Roy has resigned definetively from kamelot... he will be really missed. He was a really big inspiration, for me and am sure for a lot of fans out there too. His voice is really unique and his style had change a lot of paradigms in the power/progresive metal. i wish the best for him and his future, he gave us a lot of masterpieces like this amazing song and it wont be forgotten. from the heart... This song is so moving. Its my favorite song of all time. I'm a guitarist but Khan's vocals are so amazing he makes me want to learn to sing.
