- Thanks to these little boards, you can make your own Zigbee devices! Scrap ESPHome and WiFi, these boards let you use the Zigbee network to make smart devices! But wait, why would you want to? Well the Zigbee network has a bunch of benefits - and yes a couple of drawbacks - over the much easier solution, that being WiFi and something like ESPHome. Zigbee is a low power mesh network, which means it’s much better for battery powered devices, and for signal strength thanks to mains powered devices acting as repeaters - hence the mesh in the name.

I've been wanting to make my own Zigbee devices for ages. It is great that devices like these have started arriving.
Thanks for the video 😁
Thanks for sharing this. Eventually, I'll get back into home automation. It became so frustrating, I tossed everything in a box over a year ago. At least I have something else to try.
I've just received a couple few C6 devices. I want to put Zigbee through its paces, so this was a good primer. Thank you.
I have been following the development of this chip, looking forward to integrating into HA.
merci
I’d love to try this out, but I’ve barely got the hang of esphome never mind Arduino 🤣
