Now can you explain everything about vocaloid in extensive exhausting detail? I want a 14 hr video essay that im gonna shut off and never pick back up after 20 minutes
Best description of all time! xD Also quick note: yes „Vocaloid“ does indeed only refer to songs made specifically with Vocaloid(or in a casual cases also to piapro, since all the Piapro Voices were also Vocaloids at some point) and not to songs created with other voicesynths such as CevioAI, SynthV etc. Same goes for the Japanese word for „Vocaloid“ (ボーカロイド). However there is the Japanese word „ボカロ“ (literally „Vocalo“) which was originally just an abbreviation of Vocaloid, but does nowadays refer to ANY song that uses a virtual voice regardless of the program behind it. So even CevioAI or Utau voices fall under that category. That’s literally the reason in Japan exists two Wikipedia articles „Vocaloid“ and „Vocalo (genre)“ Just wanted to point that out since I encountered some people in the past who were confused about that.
i was spending way more time trying to figure out who was introducing this and was wondering how you robbed like the history of the world guy of his voice before i realized this was lupin
Thank you, this helps alot! As someone who has listened to people like Rachie and Juby do covers of songs like these and having those same three questions in my mind it has definitely helped.
In the past, I used to send folks the Miku Chrome commercial (anyone else remember that?) when asked about what Vocaloid is, but this is a much, much better video that, amazingly enough, really does hit basically all the major points in under three minutes! Thank you for making it!
Thank you for this 😊 I have been seeing Miku and other characters from Vocaloid popping all over my feed and I thought she was just a popular, cute anime character. But when I found out that she did “songs” I got completely confused and I have wanted to get more in touch with this community as possible. But it seems if you haven’t know vocaloid or Miku from the get go (like how I had to discover her) then you can’t gain access into it. So thanks for this brief summary, it really helped explain a lot. I just hope if there are any members of this community that see this comment you will not be offended by my curiosity as I want to become a part of this community. I’ve been starting to listen to some songs by Miku and starting to like them ☺️
I feel like burden just got lifted off me :) but also I searched Google and it made me feel like something I shouldn't search XD lol but not I don't have to cry my self to sleep thinking " HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THE ANIME".....cuz.....what anime ;-;
I am still confused.... Like, Miku isn't a human right? So like uh I was going to compare her to voice actors, but I just realised that they are different. So is she like a digital person whom is not real at is just computer base fictional character?
Miku is a fictional character who is just a mascot for her voice. Her personality and overall character are whatever you want her to be, think like she is basically in the public domain anyone is free to do anything with her. She's not real, but people still love her because she's whatever you want her to be. Everything is real except for Miku herself.
I'm not even a vocaloid fan. What I am a fan of is the producers (Inabakumori being my favorite) behind the songs. I know this to be true because I've heard non-sythesized vocal covers and I often enjoy those versions just as much. I wouldn't say my music taste is bound by genre or even method of production, I just appreciate good sound.
this was helpful for me to fully understand exactly what vocaloids were, ive been listening to them and have had a pretty good grip on what they basically are but this helped :)
Don’t know how to specifically describe it, but overall, Hatsune Miku (and any vocal synths characters in general) is also seen as a singer, a real character. Like in 1:14 says, ppl makes songs partly for those characters they attached to. Of course that doesn’t change the fact that Miku (and/or any vocal synth characters in general) is an instrument and the producers should be properly credited for their works. (Sorry for my crappy English)

Not me thinking hatsune miku was like this looks cute but is evil type character like Monica from ddlc 💀💀
I legit though Miku was some sort of anime character or like from a game
Does Hatsune Miku make the songs?

Vocaloid is not an anime.
I hope in 2022 if circus-p is voice provider male counterpart of avanna.

I’ve always vaguely known about Hatsune Miku, and I had a friend who literally had figurines of her, but I had no idea it was just a voicebank avatar…
Is Vocaloid like a .sf2(sound font file 2)?
“Explanation speedrun any%” i wish every explanation video were like this 👏
when circus' huge collectiions comes in handy, for shitpost, as usual
This is actually an amazing video. Thank you :P
Hatsune miku is my second favorite blue haired virtual singer 💙💙💙
I love this video, it was entertaining enough to cover up my disappointment of hatsune turning out to be a characterless avatar
Wow thanks I’ve been so confused for so long 😭
what I took from this video: understanding vocaloid and the culture is pretty simple, it's the fanbase that's confusing
This isnt even 3 minutes it's less wich makes it even more impressive
needed this for awhile to explain my obsession 10/10
I'm not even a vocaloid fan. What I am a fan of is the producers (Inabakumori being my favorite) behind the songs. I've heard about Vocaloid so much before being an anime fan. So, I just decided to look it up. Sounds like a fun program.
I'm you, but deader.
Also: Enlightening video, thanks.
wow! that was so helpful! thx
*99% of comments here would have an anime avatar*
this was helpful for me to fully understand exactly what vocaloids were, ive been listening to them and have had a pretty good grip on what they basically are but this helped :)
your very good at nut shelling
lmao i literally thought hatsune miku was an actual person before this
the explanation was perfect, not too much or little, just what we need.
FINALLY!!! i couldn't for the life of me understand what this was, all i found were memes.
Thank you sm for this video!! Gonna use this to explain vocaloid to my mum and sister since they don't really understand it haha
The male voice was so hot damn
Whatever the type of explaining you do....I like it
Giving me confidence to tell people about my music taste cause this the thing that’s holding me back 😭 actually explaining

Ok the community makes more sense now thanks 😊
Can someone explain why people put "feat hatsune miku" when its just a software?
Don’t know how to specifically describe it, but overall, Hatsune Miku (and any vocal synths characters in general) is also seen as a singer, a real character. Like in 1:14 says, ppl makes songs partly for those characters they attached to.
Of course that doesn’t change the fact that Miku (and/or any vocal synth characters in general) is an instrument and the producers should be properly credited for their works.
(Sorry for my crappy English)
Because the software character is hatsune miku you have to Credit for the vocals it's one of the Vocaloid lisecnce rules
“Like coke is a brand of soda” I mean that’s one way to put it
