Black player here- I had no idea we played together! I remember this game it was frustrating but so fun- I looked at the stats at the end and it blew my mind that you won with that production. I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts on my placements- went for the port strategy thinking maybe I could be the road player which was a little loose considering I only had the 3 brick. In the end I got boxed into my little corner and couldn’t get further than 9 but oh well, great game!
Nice win. Always love to see the 10-9-9-9 games, and with a crazy ending too... At the end I think you actually only had a 1/4 chance to draw the winning VP, because there was also 1 knight, 1 mono, and 1 road building left. The first 4 VPs came out fairly quickly, so everyone pulling for that last one didn't have great odds. They all just cleared out the clutter, paving the way for you to win. And too many knights for Blue. The curse of only 3 settlement spots/army; if you get unlucky with the VPs you just can't win the game. So I guess taking away their expansion spots with your 2nd initial settlement worked out in the end. All part of the plan, to get into a VP puling race that you'd obviously win.
I think you can make a scheduled upload but think he is on the east coast because he has talked a bit about beating people in New York before or something
It's good to see you back, actively posting on this channel! Good night though lol it's crazy late friend -- idk how the youtube algo works but this would be some top secret tech
i understand why building that last road up on the 12 lumber was a mistake, but why were the two roads from the 6:12 sheep lumber before that a mistake? Sure you don't gurantee a settlement spot but you also lock road. wouldn't that tradeoff not be worth it?
Playing bad in itself is a strategy because people don't target you happens in many different types of games they may even help you. Like if you play RISK and you're in-between 2 bigger plays they may both let you live then you can take out the third person not in the mix.
Really well played!! 😂 Just kidding!! Great game to watch and gadly you got luck in the end! As you pointed the trades were crucial and got to build eficientally
I'd like to learn to play Catan: I mean I know the rules and I've played as an amateur with friends, but I don't know strategies and whatnot. Any idea where to find thorough guides to become a good player?
I don't know why I started to watch your videos, i have never even played Catan 😂 But they are entertaining even tho it sometimes is confusing for me because you talk so fast😅
I think you made a mistake by Your Placements my Opinion. I would have placed instead of 11 6 3 on 11 6 5 because you get always on good settlement Spot.
No, the 6,3,11 over the 6,5,11 was a really good move. Opening up the 3,10,11 is dangerous and doubling up the 3 wheat that never gets blocked is way more valuable than a 5 sheep. Additionally, the 6,11 is a great expansion spot. Being too greedy with going for 3-hex expansions is a typical mistake inexperienced players do when trying to play an OWS game. With his setup, he isn't going for a non-port expansion anyways before securing wheat and 3:1 port and getting at least 1 city up. By that time, players with much better road production will have taken these spots from him, so it's much better to place in a way that prevents these expansion spots in the first place.
@@KezzaPwNz None of these mistakes were critical. Even the 12-wood road was not a clear mistake, as building the road down opens up the nasty plow possibility for red with road-road-settle on the 12-wood/dessert, which would be really bad for him.
Following a "Play everything perfect and lose" with a "Play everything wrong and win" is a hell of a narrative
that ending was insane with everyone on 9 pulling for the last VP

I’d be sick there if I’m blue, couldn’t find that last VP to save his life
Have you ever considered making content on Cities & Knights? I'm addicted to that expansion and now normal Catan is just not the same anymore lol.
Loving the consistent uploads!

I love how almost every game in the high ranks has these nail biting endings.
Imagine getting 20-40 resources less than everyone else and still being able to win. Crazy
Insane game. Love the series!
Haha crazy game, keep up the uploads!
Blue deserved to win honestly. Crooked space and still competed till the end.

@@alexandernater6284 thank you very much for answer very detailed 👍. And you are right.
Sure you got lucky on the last pull, but really you should have had a city before that. The 8 ore just did not produce for you.
Algo comment for more videos!
I think you got lucky the 3's ruined as much as they did. You would have had nothing going otherwise
