Hi Troy thanks a lot for video, I bought recently this model of radiocontrol, I find it satisfactory in every way but absolutely less so for the built-in gyro

Built-in gyros are usually MUCH worse than a dedicated gyro. Good news - you can turn off the gyro.

For the price, it's wild how many features RC8X has. It almost doesn't seem real, lol.

@RoadsideRC would you recommend this over Noble and 4PM?

@Bluespade115 I have been thinking a lot about that, and hard to really come to a conclusive answer.
There are certainly pros and cons.

Thanks for this video. I was contemplating on picking up a futaba 7px because i recently bought a gyd550 and seeing that it works with rc8x transmitter. I feel alitttle better. I have an rc8x and futaba transmitter is super expensive for me.

@@RoadsideRC after connecting the wires differently. I was able to get the sbus to work for mine. I don't know if I did it correctly but my reciever lights up blue. I changed the gyro mixing to the channel i plugged the gyro in and I'm able to adjust from red to green and I also put it to 0 and the light on my gyro turns off. I guess it's working? I've read that sbus has better latency over the traditional pwm? I'm not sure but I guess it works for me lol I don't know.

@bhdproduction2007 I'm not 100% sure that means you got it working via sbus....I think that is just the normal gain control. When you have full sbus control, you can tunr many more aspects of the gyro performance.

I doubt you'll be able to program anything though sbus but you should be able to to get the gyro to operate via sbus. You do need to plug the gyro in differently for sbsu. The Rx wire from the 550 goes in the sbus port on your receiver then you remove the gn wire that was going to ch8 entirely.

    • @RoadsideRC

I tried. It still didn't control gyro gain. Was worth a shot though!

I have set sbus on a gyd450 with the noble pro, but you NEED to remove the gyro gain wire.

Troy, if you get the chance, can you try the RC8X with the GYD470. I am considering upgrading from my RC4GS/RC6GS and consolidate using one transmitter. Thanks.

@@RoadsideRC i’d be interested to see if it will work if you use a receiver with the built in gyro, versus a receiver without the built in gyro. On mine, the GYD470 only worked if I use a receiver without a gyro built-in. It didnt matter if I turned it off. Thanks!!!!

I know this is an expensive ask, but I wonder if you've tried the 7pxr or 10px? Maybe borrowed from a friend? I got the 10px on Futaba's last sale mostly for racing but I couldn't believe how different it feels coming from my 4PM. There's so much more resolution and control through slides I'm having to almost relearn the car. It's a noticeably faster response too that I can feel/hear in throttle blips that always felt sluggish before. Radiolink menus look nice though. Their RC4/RC6 always struck me as having a nice UI

First drift car I ever drove was with a 7PX! I do agree that they are very good radios.
For folks that really want the best - that is the way to go!

Great video troy just curious which one you like better the 8x or the mt 12. I am looking at upgrading my 4gs v3 which I still really like I use the small 4 channel Receivers in my 1/28 micro cars and they have been working awesome. At times they need that gyro lol.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  10 месяцев назад

Great question! Hard to compare them with how big the price gap is.
The user interface on the RC8X is clearly MUCH nicer than the MT12.
The MT12 has the ability to do all of the same things as the RC8X...and I actually like the feel of the MT12 better in-hand.
The MT12 will just be more complicated to setup and change.
      Hard decision, really.

@@RoadsideRC troy can you try something for me can you see if the MT 12 will bind to the radiolink receivers my main thing is i already have multiple receivers installed in cars and dont want to have to purchase new ones again lol. I already have a gt3b with 6 or 7 receivers collecting dust since i got my radiolink lol
