I'd go with Vortex (Carowinds) as the most likely to go, with Flight Deck (CGA) and Patriot (CGA) next most likely. Six Flags has a tendency to hang on to its coasters for as long as they feasibly can, even at their higher-tier parks. Cedar Fair, however, is more prone to pull the trigger on that sort of thing, especially at the parks they favor, and Carowinds has shown itself to be one of their favored parks over the past decade or so. The one thing that might be preventing Vortex from going sooner is that Carowinds also has some other dead wood in their coaster lineup, but even with that factor I still see Vortex going sooner rather than later.

@@NickyD I don't see it. Flight Deck (CGA) is much older than Dueling Dragons was when it got retired. If Universal scrapped both coasters of Dueling Dragons rather than allow either one to be relocated or sold, I don't hold out high hopes that Flight Deck will be relocated, especially 2k+ miles away. Doesn't help that Flight Deck (CGA) is a terrain coaster, so Canada's Wonderland at least would be out (not enough land left to work in a terrain coaster that wasn't designed for the local terrain).

I personally agree that green lantern will be the next to go. It is incredibly painful and every time i've been to that park it's basically been a walk on (everyone I know always tell each other to avoid it). Next year is the 50th anniversary (of the park) and they may remove it to add something there. Idk. Just a thought I had.

I wish this would happen so much. Idk why people say it's popular with the GP. If they ride it once they usually don't get back on ever. If there's no wait no one really re-rides. I'll do it twice and I'm done myself. It's just a waste, especially when it leads to them neglecting or not having the far superior Medusa open instead. I wouldn't even care if they got a "GP pleasing" B&M Dive Machine it would look better in the front and definitely be way smoother and funner at least.

I think you overestimate Six Flags’ desire to remove coasters. I doubt the next would be them, without a park closure. I’d move Green Lantern to the 10% category and bring the 2 CGA B&Ms up because of the possibility of their lifespan being limited by the park, although that’s looking less likely now. Rougarou and Vortex are probably the top 2 candidates though, although for each park you do have to consider if that’s the next coaster on the chopping block or not. So I think it’s probably Vortex, since Cedar Point has a couple other coasters it might eye for removal first sadly.

Cedar Point might remove Corkscrew first before Rougarou, especially since Rougarou has better capacity, and Corkscrew has been permanently on two-train operation for a while. I would say Gemini, but I can definitely see Gemini making it to 50 years old in the next five years, so that one is safe to, but you are right. Cedar Point probably sees one or two more coasters to remove first before Rougarou.

Being right next to Nighthawk (a ride at the end of its service life due to parts) AND not being the most popular in a growing park, I see the plot being utilised for their next coaster. Green Lanturn has a chance to be saved from floreless conversion, as much as I hate that ride it isn't a bad layout so a park may want it. While it's certainly possible Vortex could get sold off to another park like Freestyle at Cavalino Matto (that's what I think it's called) it's unlikely a park would want to invest in a B&M...only to get a lower tier stand up.

My gut feeling is that either Kumba or Vortex will be the next to bite it. Unlike most coasters on this list, Kumba has been operating year-round for thirty years, so it likely has the most wear and tear of any B&M still operating, and with the lowest ridership among BGT's major coasters, I doubt they'd invest in a major refurbishment over something new. As for Vortex, supposedly Carowinds declined to convert the coaster to floorless when offered the opportunity, which makes me think they're waiting until Nighthawk is no longer worth keeping to remove both together for a major new ride.
As for the others you consider at risk...
Firebird: Not likely to go anywhere unless it becomes impossible to maintain.
Flight Deck & Patriot: I expect these to live as long as the park does, but to not be relocated when the park closes.
Georgia Scorcher: No chance of closing. This would be converted to floorless if anything.
Green Lantern: While the most likely Six Flags B&M to be removed, I consider it less likely than Kumba or Vortex as it actually does get decent ridership.
Rougarou: I agree that this ride's time at Cedar Point is limited, but I see it getting relocated rather than going defunct (it would be a wonderful gift to Valleyfair, Worlds of Fun, or even Canada's Wonderland).

@@AmericasCoasterNetwork That's because they bit off more than they can chew. I'm just saying, since they are the "discount" chain, it would take a lot for them to remove a functioning coaster...especially a B&M, that to my knowledge, doesn't give them much of an issue, unlike the Chiller did. Personally I'd rather see Vortex at Carowinds go and open up space for a new coaster, especially since Nighthawk (and Batwing for that matter) are on life support.

Orion is definitely not a giga
      287ft is NOT 300ft last time I checked 🤷‍♀️
But I do agree about not removing it…not until I finally get to ride it anyways lol

Orion is 100% a Giga. it's trian drops over 300ft. It may be the cool thing for Coaster Hipsters to bash online, but it's literally virtually identical to Fury 325. Sorry, not sorry.

@@thecoasterbear are you the roller coaster classification police? Geez!!
I’m not being “cool” I’m being factual
How can you compare Orion to Fury 325?
Their track layout may be similar BUT their drops are definitely not.
Fury 325 is a true giga
Orion is 287 ft tall…with the elevation of the land the lift hill was built on puts it at 300 or so …okay, why don’t they just advertise it as 300 ft then?🤷‍♀️
You can’t be a park owner and say your coaster is 287 ft tall and classify it as a giga. 🤦‍♀️
I’m Not bashing this coaster at. But I am stating the obvious.
With elevation it’s 300 ft and therefore is a giga…then CF should say it’s 300ft and until they do I will refer to it as a hyper. Have a good day 😁✌️
