I love our small town life here in Fort Madison, far southeast corner of Iowa. I do wish we were closer to the wilderness areas, but at least we're close enough to drive to them for exploring, great hiking and trail running!
That is so true down there. I love the outdoors but Eastern Iowa just is lacking a little bit in wilderness areas.
I moved back to the Clinton area after working for over 15 years in downtown Chicago. I grew up on a farm near Sabula. I’m looking for a town that has 5,000 - 15,000 people. Healthcare, parks, a downtown, dining, and maybe a local paper or radio station. A Fareway or Hy-Vee but no Walmart…
Have you checked out Eldridge as an option? They just had a Hyvee move in there not too long ago.
Great video! Don't look too hard at the Decora area....we just got here to the QC! Don't leave us now.....Haha. Thanks for the heads up about Cedar Rapids, we're heading that way this weekend! There and Iowa City. Des Moines, we'll get there eventually....that's a little bit of a journey 🤣🤣🤣
Oh I have no plans to leave just yet. But funny enough I was in Des Moines just yesterday
for a decent size city in iowa you can't beat iowa city.
Absolutely!!!
Yes, you can! In my world, lol.
But I love that you love it there!! ❤️
Meh, cops are pretty petty in IC. Not that the gunshots and stolen car epidemic in Davenports much better I guess
I'm 38 lived in Des Moines til I was age 22 then moved to Cedar Rapids. I like living in Eastern Iowa more. Des Moines is a great city but it really has changed a lot from 2008 when I left.
Still fascinated about your part of the country! Would love to relocate.
Come on over. Glad to have you!😊
What about the Maquoketa area?
The northwest Illinois is as gorgeous as north east Iowa. South west Wisconsin also.
Dubuque is also as far east as you go and still be in Iowa. Lots of history there too.
@glennso47 need to find a job and affordable house in the country side.
We live in Bettendorf but the kids both went/are going to Iowa City for College. I love downtown Iowa City, much nicer vibe than some of the QC areas, but then it's a college town. Neither of my kids want to live in Iowa, much less the QCA, but my husband and I love it.
I was the same way in college. I didn't want to live in Iowa but look at me now. I don't think I want to live anywhere else
I moved to Dubuque at the end of March and really like the town. I ended up having to rent because home prices here are extremely high I am hoping they will eventually come down so I can afford to buy something
Just moved to Bettendorf from Kentucky and i absolutely love the easy commute.
Nice! I'm glad you love it here
Alright Mr fancy pants
@@jimibones178 why ppl think Bettendorf is so great. It’s not that bougie.
@killamikebgx3 probably because it doesn't have any poor neighborhoods. As opposed to davenport, where they stretch for miles. It is not the splendor of bettendorf that garners such commentary, it's the absence of ratchetry
what was the airbnb? sounds great. thanks.
I'll need to ask. I didn't book it. It was really great though
What about Milford Iowa?
In Des Moines on I-235 we used to have traffic cameras on like every bridge that would give you a ticket for going over like 65 but I think they turned them off now
That's good to hear. I am always very careful going through there with the cameras on
I live south of the Cities in Biggsville IL.
That's awesome. I've never actually been down to Biggsvile before
@@LIVINGINTHEQUADCITIES You should give it a try, we have the covered bridge near Oquawka IL, Lock and Dam 18, Big River State Forest. Grew up in Monmouth Illinois, my father built Mach I and Envision Boats there for 37 years.
That's awesome! Maybe a trip down there will be in my future soon.
@@LIVINGINTHEQUADCITIES You should it's cool and folks are very nice.
DON'T FORGET CLEARLAKE, IOWA, VERY RELAXING AND MUCHO FUN !!!!!!!!!
Literally just came back from there. Great place and it was my first time being there as well
I Ought Have Went Around JS
I would love to move close to des moine but a little rural for acreage and scenery, where would it be?
Oh there are a ton of wonderful places around Des Moines. I'd have to find out more specifics about what you are looking for. Feel free to shoot me a message. 563-554-2829
How about Cedar Falls?
I haven't spent much time there but from what I know people like it there
west des moines iowa is perfect. infrastructure is brand new, clean streets top flight schools etc. anyone complaining about rush hour traffic in des moines area has lived a very sheltered life. it is infinitely worse in most major cities
That's great to hear! West Des Moines is a beautiful place.
Waukee is even better. Outside of ‘downtown’ there isn’t a house over 15 years old
About the Wilton in Iowa What to say?
Small town about half way in between the Quad Cities and Iowa City. Is there anything specific you'd like to know?
And Columbus Junction?
Dont move to Iowa. You will get caught up in gang violence.
Idk man, as a Californian Iowa seems pretty ghey I would rather move to Florida personally. But as a Californian(beta male) my wife and her boyfriend make all the decisions sooo
Lolzzzzz
🤣🤣🤣🤣
