The song is about a fictional encounter with ghosts. "They were kids that I once knew... Now they're dead hearts to you". I'm a definite fan since 2003. I love that all their songs are all essentially stories. They may be the most literate band i know in that sense. The band motto "luxe, calme, et volupte" is from one of Baudelaire's poems. Their first LP contains a gorgeous, partial reading of it in French!
