This takes me back to a really strange, very beautiful time in my life. There was, and will be nothing like it, ever again. Thank you Bloc Party. This song actually made my experience complete in the loveliest way possible. You'll never know.
Cee Grand i might feel the same :) i once had a girl to which i felt more connected than anything i have ever experienced before and after, true love i guess..
I've reread this comment about 8 times and you can tell that this song is a significant interlude in the soundtrack to your life @browncoatsforever5137
I still remember How you looked that afternoon There was only you You said it's just like a full moon Blood beats faster in our veins We left our trousers by the canal And our fingers, they almost touched You should have asked me for it I would have been brave You should have asked me for it How could I say no? And our love could have soared Over playgrounds and rooftops Every park bench screams your name I kept your tie I've gone wherever you wanted And on that teachers' training day We wrote our names on every train Laughed at the people off to work So monochrome and so lukewarm And I can see our days are becoming nights I could feel your heartbeat across the grass We should have run I would go with you anywhere I should have kissed you by the water You should have asked me for it And our love could have soared I would let you if you asked me I still remember
what @ConsciousFox and @Arkayik93 said. Just appreciate the music people. thats all that matters. Kele you are a living legend. keep on fighting the good fight.
It's almost hard to recognize this version of the song. They're so different and yet they both feel the same when I hear them. That's the definition of a good acoustic cover.
You can rather all you like, but Kele is gay, not bisexual. He's confirmed it himself. In the past he has written songs using pronouns like "she" and "her", but now he's confirmed as gay.
What is happening these days? On every Bloc Party video I check, people talk about homosexuality. Aren't you tired of that now? It wasn't like that a few years ago, we were mostly talking about Bloc Party's music. WTF now!?
I realized that he was gay after I heard Kreuzberg and this song back to back. I didn't care at all, though. Still don't. Amazing music is amazing music.
TheDsX I concur. Wholeheartedly. But I don't think that a person's sexual orientation/race/creed/nationality/etc adds to or detracts from their value/worth.
the fact that hes gay adds a bit more depth or at least an interesting perspective to the lyrics in those songs. Don't know why people say A Weekend In the City wasn't that good its literally on the same level as Silent Alarm.
Stop with the gay comments, I'm republican and adore this band. Gay or straights does not matter. It's okay to love greatness, we should appreciate great talent.
In all my years of loving this song in its original form first time I've heard this. It is really lovely
Every time I sing this song I adopt a British accent

It's only for you July. I never told you. I love you
I love hearing Russell going acoustic. He captures the whole essence of the song in just his acoustic playing. What an inspiration...
He is Great....❤
This song brings so many pleasant and unpleasant memories! All good
Amazing guitarrist.
I still love this song!
I still remember
How you looked that afternoon
There was only you
You said it's just like a full moon
Blood beats faster in our veins
We left our trousers by the canal
And our fingers, they almost touched
You should have asked me for it
I would have been brave
You should have asked me for it
How could I say no?
And our love could have soared
Over playgrounds and rooftops
Every park bench screams your name
I kept your tie
I've gone wherever you wanted
And on that teachers' training day
We wrote our names on every train
Laughed at the people off to work
So monochrome and so lukewarm
And I can see our days are becoming nights
I could feel your heartbeat across the grass
We should have run
I would go with you anywhere
I should have kissed you by the water
You should have asked me for it
And our love could have soared
I would let you if you asked me
I still remember
What an incredible musician!
Adore this song
Guess we all had that love we were to scared to follow...wat a beautiful song...
sheer talent knows neither sex gender or tone of skin. ..this bloke is another example of British talent for arts...
Love this version.
I can't wait to see them at Exit Festival in July!
This song is gorgeous :)
Gorgeous as you
It has been years since I first heard this song. Still can't get over it. The message is just so heartfelt.
Every time I watch this video, I have to STOP myself from crying.
Great fucking rendition of one of my favorite songs
I canot get over the haunting beauty of this song.
Wooooo! Four is sick as well!
Just beautiful
@ConsciousFox where have you been??? Bloc Party is in the studio now recording. Expected release date is later this year :P
Gay, straight, bi, alien...whatever. His music is amazing - that's the bit that counts :)
Good song
Dieser Song ist so genial :)
And what a record it was!
Kele is beautiful.
what @ConsciousFox and @Arkayik93 said. Just appreciate the music people. thats all that matters. Kele you are a living legend. keep on fighting the good fight.

What a babe.
Love it!!
@LucyInTheSkyLennon Yeah, Kele confirmed that they were just playing a prank on all the world. Kele is in Bloc Party :)
@LucyInTheSkyLennon Apparently that was all a wind-up according to follow-up comments by Kele and the band management. So we can remain hopeful :)
Need their new album to come out, NOW.
can we all get back to the music, people.
Kele's face: -_-
He wins.
where does it say anything about a woman?
Was this recorded before he came out?
You can rather all you like, but Kele is gay, not bisexual. He's confirmed it himself. In the past he has written songs using pronouns like "she" and "her", but now he's confirmed as gay.
OMGOMGOMG GUYS A GIANT BEE
Nevermind it's just Kele
tabs??
what concept!?
@TateTheGreat9 he's bisexual, but i have to support tatethegreat9 here - it doesn't matter -or does it for you? xP
Ur right bro. But as u said, Im still rathering ;).
What is happening these days? On every Bloc Party video I check, people talk about homosexuality. Aren't you tired of that now? It wasn't like that a few years ago, we were mostly talking about Bloc Party's music. WTF now!?
why, perchance?
quality
@Callum1405
who gives a shit if he,s gay,he makes good music
Every shy boys lament.
I realized that he was gay after I heard Kreuzberg and this song back to back. I didn't care at all, though. Still don't. Amazing music is amazing music.
WeAreN1nja You should still care, he's an amazing human being... and composer/musician.
TheDsX I concur. Wholeheartedly. But I don't think that a person's sexual orientation/race/creed/nationality/etc adds to or detracts from their value/worth.

Kele Okereke is actually bisexual
lyrics in TENDERONI.Thats one example
says who?
what does it matter?
takamine guitar i have one like that
look for lyrics bro
even if it is meant to be a song about gay love its still a pretty good song to sing to your girlfreind
I would assume he had always been open about his sexuality. Nevertheless, a true artist.
it's a song about love. who cares about the pronouns. :)
Shit... Russel's 30 now?
🤔
will sombody please tell me how this song is gay!?
I'd rather
Call him bi rather than just
Gay...
He is gay... So what... For me In the end, its all about the music.
Kele looks so sad...
I'd rather call him bi than gay. Just think about it, his songs are about women.
i am the 666 :)
You're a liar.
Real and gay.
Kele's a scouser.
That's the best comment you could make about this? lol
@@Ltjrevival what's wrong with it. I always remember he was born in Liverpool.. It's a nostalgic song isn't it.
@@dictionarypictionary9872 Just messin with ya haha. I covered this song how they played it here years ago. It's awesome
@@Ltjrevival I like it, sounds good on the electric.
I read, somewhere, that Kele was gay. Can anyone confirm or deny this claim?
Why the fuck does it matter?
becuz it ruins the concept i guess.
mancrush... ha

i love bloc party! but the guitarist has the stage presence of a baked potato
Good song
