I tried to apply for another Freedom card about a year ago and they told me you couldn’t have more than ONE card style per person. How did you do this?
even for "non-travelers" so to speak, hotel cards are a good option (and probably much better than airline cards) because odds are you'll have a wedding or something that requires a hotel and is only a drive away, this should make it easier to torch that anniversary night
Bonvoy Business doesn't have an available equivalent at Chase. Amex has the Marriot Bonvoy Business card now. Same with the RItz Carlton, Amex has its equivalent, Marriot Bonvoy Brilliant. But, you can still get the Ritz card, you cannot apply to it, you have to product change to it. IHG Club is now IHG rewards club premier.
Very similar setup here! It's almost like I have been following your advice... lol. Seriously though, great insights and the Chase Business Cards are game changers!
Just wanted to say thanks for keeping all of us up to date, Sebby! I received a $150 retention offer for the CSR and am grateful for you sharing your insights on retention offers.
I have: -The Freedom -CSR (Pri CDW, non-category travel, and pay yourself back) -WOH (Hyatt and non-category spend for status!!) Into 2021: Maybe get the IHG Premier (when under 5/24 again) and maybe the Freedom Flex. The problem with the Freedom Flex, CFU, WOH, and AMEX ED/EPD is that they start to cut into each other for non category spend. Not focusing diminishes the potential of each card. This brings up the struggle I have with getting either the Chase Marriott Boundless card and upgrade 1 year later to the Ritz card or get the AMEX Bonvoy Brilliant card!?!?!?!?!? Also please do one of these videos for your AMEX setup!! Thanks, Sebby!
Hey Sebastian, I am new to the channel. Do you plan on doing another comparison video on chase hotel cards. I love the content and find it very helpful for optimizing my credit cards for my travel addiction.
I’m sort of late to the miles game, but I kind of fell into having the Southwest Priority, Chase Freedom Unlimited (they upgraded me from Slate), Alaska Air Visa, Hawaiian Air, and just got the Amex Platinum (w/ 100K). Was denied for the Sapphire Preferred before getting the Amex. A little bit of everything now, but some good cards, especially since I normally fly Southwest and Alaska.
I currently have the Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, and the Chase Sapphire Preferred... I’d like to get the World of Hyatt, United, Hawaiian, Flex, and the Bonvoy Boundless.
Hey Sebby, two part question I plan on buying out my lease in the next six months and have 7g saved up already. 1. What is best bank account to store cash at that gives me most value? 2. What are best hotel credit card point offers that I can charge when I payoff lease? And how would I set that up?(I know plastiq is option but is the fee worth it? $23,000 payoff)
I got hyatt, freedom and CSP at the moment, keeping my freedom for 5x revolving, planning to get a freedom unlimited for daily, is it sound a good plan??
My current Chase setup is CFF for groceries, Walmart, PayPal, dining. Already got my $300 credit so CSR is on ice. CF, well, I haven't used that card in years. CFU is also in the sock drawer because of uncertainty with travel so I've switched those charges to the Citi Double Cash. AMEX BCP downgraded to BCE while CFF has 5% on groceries. AMEX Bonvoy, cashed in my credit for this year in Sept. $95 AF for a "free" night is totally worth it!
@@nickdoyle-achievefinancial2464 As I mentioned in my comment, this is because of uncertainty in travel. CFU true earning rate is 1.5% vs 2% for CDC. Yes, CFU -> CSR 2.25%, but that is based on limited categories and I do not want to redeem my existing points via pay yourself back anyway. When I get right down to it, it's pretty much a coin toss and have gone back and forth on these strategies.
Planning on cashing out all my Chase points later on a honeymoon/ engagement trip later so I’m just chilling with 2 freedoms and a business cash. After that, I’ll probably just hold off until I’m under 5/24 and can get another sapphire bonus. I’m running a very Amex heavy setup currently
Currently, I just have the CSP and CFF which I got near the beginning of October. I plan on product changing the CSP to a CSR in 2021 as well as product changing my Flex to a regular Freedom if that is an option. Otherwise looking to snag a BBP in 2021 and garden until 2022 so I can pick up a few other Chase cards that I have had my eyes on.
I got the Sapphire Preferred only sadly but that’s because I messed up in the beginning but going into 2021 I want to get four more from Chase which will be the Flex, Ink Preferred, Hotel card, and have not decided on the fourth one
I'm just trying to stack as many points as possible this year and next. So when we're able to travel again, I'll be ready haha. I have one 5/24 slot open, going for a flex next month before the sign up offer expires. I have: Ink cash ink unlimited ink preferred Freedom freedom Unlimited united Ecplorer united Plus IHG Premier (X2) Hyatt Ritz Carlton ( just product changed, YAY!)
I just recently picked up a Preferred to grab the 80K bonus, but after having discovered PayPal Key, I really should have gotten a Freedom Flex to go along with my Freedom. I've never maxed out a 5% category so fast! 😂 @Ask Sebby are you maxing out your Freedoms organically or using the PPK method (or some other method)?
I have the Freedom, Sapphire Preferred, and Southwest Priority-not traveling makes me question the Southwest card. Trying to decide on switching Freedom to Freedom Unlimited.
I have: Freedom Freedom Freedom IHG Select IHG Premier Ritz Carlton Legacy Hyatt (will soon be WOH) Waiting to fall under 5/24 to get those INK cards, southwest priority, IHG traveler card and an maybe an AVIOS card
Still kicking myself for not keeping my ink plus, but I still quit CSR. Plan is to PC to CSP once I’m ready to transfer points- currently run the chase trifecta sans CSR.

I got the world of Hyatt card last year and had it for about a year. After staying at 3 different properties in 2 different states and having sub-par experiences at all of them, we canceled. We prefer Hilton and Marriott far better.

I only have 3 but my goal for 2021 is to have 5 in total but not sure how long I have to wait in order to get a CC. Hey Sebby, I would love some info on your thoughts on how to maximize opportunities with credit cards as military members. If you don't know, military members can get most credit card fees waived. For example, I have the platinum amex card with no annual fee. Would love to see what you have to say on that and how we can maximize the opportunity given to us. Thanks
I understand you rarely miss anything and you have reasons but I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned the Yotta savings debit card. I’ve never hopped on a waiting list faster in my life lol
Anybody else thinking about downgrading Reserve to Preferred? I just don't think the $550 is worth it - even if you did call Chase Retention they only drop like $150... $400 is still a lot.
300 travel credit (currently applicable to gas station & groceries) makes it $250. Then add $60 door dash credit and 50% bonus towards pay yourself back. I still think Reserve is a good deal.
I wish I can have Marriott Bonvoy Business card, better than Amax Bonvoy Business with lower AF. My current setup (10 personal + 3 business): Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Sapphire Reserve (Will downgrade to Freedom Flex next year unless it ups the credits), Old IHG Plus, IHG Premier, Hyatt (Becoming WoH next January), Ritz Carlton, United (No AF), Southwest Priority, Amazon Prime, Ink Cash, Ink Unlimited, Ink Preferred I am looking into United Business card with $ 99 AF in the near future but not really on my priority list.
How long do you need to wait b/w re-applying for the same INK card to get a bonus. I've had all 3 cards but cancelled after 1 or 2 years but I'm not sure if you can get the bonus again, need to wait 24 months, 48 months? Any idea or link to terms / details?
Thank you for your willingness to share your information. Do you have a sample timeline for applying for new cards? This may be helpful for those who are new to building their credit card portfolio and are wanting to bank points/rewards.
Csr doesn’t seem to be worth the $550 annual fee anymore with fu also getting you 3x on restaurants, and 5x on airfare through chase portal. The main benefit left is the transfer partners and the travel and rental car insurances, which csp at $95 annual fee also covers (vs csr’s $250 effective annual fee). I’ve personally switched to amex for accumulating points, and keep a chase setup to earn ur points as backup when amex isn’t accepted. My chase setup after downgrading csr will be csp, fu, ink cash (sebby’s right about the 5x giftcards), united business (for free excursion stop, free checked bags and 2 lounge visits/yr for $95 annual fee, and it also has primary cdw rental insurance) and ihg premier (for mastercard’s cell phone insurance, annual cert night for $85 annual fee, and in general I like ihg’s hotels more than hilton’s for economy travel, e.g., holiday inn vs hampton inn).
They denied me for sapphire during this promotion only have 2 chase cards 3 in total I’m done being bottlednecked moving onto Amex and leaving chase as a backup like u stated

can you apply to World of Hyatt card for the second time to stack the anniversary nights?
AFAIK, they won't approve you for a 2nd WoH card with another one active. Let me know if your experience is different though!
@@AskSebby I would get 5 WoH cards if it was possible... hehe Ok, maybe not 5, but 2 for sure.
Can you have more then one Chase Ink for your business?
Yes
Yep! Depends on how antsy Chase is being + your application details. 2-4 business cards are in the reasonable realm :)
Is there a way to check if you are up the 5/24
