GamingWithZoe they edited their original comment and deleted a reply where they were telling me that Idina sang early in the morning when it was actually at night. I should know - I was there😂
The sound system wasn't scratchy. She moved it away from her and made that sound on purpose because she knew her voice couldn't handle those notes. While the sound system may have problems, most performances will have some sort of problem. Shes done the moving mic away trick lots of other times to save the show because its a professional trick to do when your voice isn't up to it at the moment.

Anyone who gives Idina crap needs to understand how much she's put into not just her sing but her acting. It's hard enough recording an album, let alone singing in the cold. You can hear how tired she is in her voice and bless this woman for doing what she could so she didn't hurt herself anymore than she already was. She's the original singer, if she wants to change it guess what, she can it's her choice. Brava Idina, keep on being the amazing person we all know you are. I'm still wanting to see this, and might take the day off tomorrow and see it.
Omfg. Her voice.... I’m sorry. But it genuinely makes me tear up every time I hear it. It’s genuinely so beautiful. Frozen and Frozen 2 makes me cry. I would listen to her music if she decided to release an album lowkey.
0:53 This is my favourite part of the song ... so much power I LOVE IT AND I LOVE HER. And she’s doing that thing with the mic to add depth to the sound and so that the tone won’t be too loud for the speakers
Did anyone else hear a little Defying Gravity at the very end? It has to be muscle memory for her to do that. ALSO. I really don't think she could either hear herself or the music. Its very clear there were audio issues.
I love her voice. No ones voice can be that POWERFUL. A reason she voiced Elsa, comes with so much work and practice and its Idina Menzel she works so hard. I appreciate that and I love her. I'm a big fan.
Honestly what she did was very smart. You can tell that her voice was not having it in the cold weather, and probably was very tired. As a singer myself, sometimes you gotta find a way around that big high note when you know it could damage your voice even worse than it is. Vocalists know their voices. I had to change some of the high notes in the show I’m in for a couple of nights because I was sick, and now that I’m back in my third weekend I can hit them again. It just be like that sometimes. I love love love her voice, I’m so glad she decided to preserve it
You can see when she looks to side at the other performers they know her plight, then again before the big finish when she looks upwards. Bless her got battling on when she wasn't well, and still giving an amazing performance
Missed a note? No, she stuck within a range that was safe for her voice. The only problem I see here is her mic control which was weird to say the least, unless they were supposed to add some sustain or something similar (which clearly never happened). Edit: I see a lot of people mentioning her moving the mic away to save face, but she's still singing the notes and hitting them at the same volume (you can literally hear this). I really think she was instructed to move the mic away so they could add effects (which never came off).
NotMyName I think she might not have been able to hear herself properly so she was just doing it as a precaution even though it turned out she didn’t need to as she hit the notes
She does this in EVERY performace. Check out the other live performances of Into The Unknown. No one can honestly believe that someone is trying to add effects in every performance. She's probably saving face. Look, I don't blame her, these songs are hard. What I want to know, is why they keep making her sing them in the original key instead of playing them at a full or half step down. HELP THIS WOMAN! I don't see why they would want her to suffer.
Uh usually that's done to prevent distortion and blowing speakers with some sound setups. She has such a powerful voice that she needs to move it on the crescendo of some notes.
If you sing you know how hard this song is AND how hard it is to sing in the cold. After all you are using a lot of muscles and when you’re cold it’s very hard to control them. Idina did great!
I kind of wonder who sang the line "You are the one you've been waiting for" That was perfectly timed and was so beautiful. You can tell she did not expect that. But regardless she is still one of my favorite singers. I am obsessed with her frozen songs and she had to dig deep down inside to be able to sing that well in the freezing cold. That right there deserves a standing ovation. She is amazing
Mur Mur I think she’s just used to doing that. In broadway, the mic is always attached to her so she can move her arms wherever she wants. In concerts she usually keeps the mic on the stand, so i think it’s just a force of habit moving her arms away
its also an uncertanity type thing. being a singer myself ive experience sometimes the fear of screwing it up makes one do that. the bad thing here is she moved it away on some notes that you can tell she actually hit well. she´s probably not used to singing this live.
ChimneySweep07 Thats also a good point. I do believe this is the first time she’s sing show yourself live, so I’m sure eventually she will become more comfortable with it.
I'd like to remind everyone that at least unlike Mariah Carey's live "it was cold out so i lipsynced" b.s., Idina is ACTUALLY singing LIVE in freeeeezing cold weather, and while on vocal rest...seriously....given the press tour they were, she was speaking and probably singing for close to 10 hours a day. Even speaking for extended periods of time is going to weaken/tire your voice out. This was BRILLIANT for the strain her voice is being put under and the conditions. Serious talent in this woman, folks.
I'm honestly so proud of her for the way she handled that. I admire the way she overcame that stumble. Performing live is so nerve wrecking and I'm not sure I would have handled it as well. She truly is a professional. Honestly this just made me love her more and gave me a tremendous amount of respect for her.
Y’all I’m just letting you know that she was quite sick during this- she had a cold like Elsa in frozen fever lol That’s why she sounded tired and stuffy and didn’t look like she was enjoying herself as much as usual. She said in an interview she wasn’t going to do it but she would have felt really bad for the fans so she did it anyway, that’s why it’s in the Lower key.
I think idinas real singing ,voice is this cool.and its a bit different from elsa..she has to mould herself into elsa to show shes singing for her..this makes her very awesome..
Her voice and range are so powerful! Her technique also seems to have improved. Kudos to her, the other singers, and the songwriters. It’s not fun to sing in cold weather. 😅 It is alsoreally wise to adapt the key to something more reachable. It shows humility and wisdom.
The reason she can't sing high notes here is because it's too cold for a full breath soprano, I mean look at the condition do, understanding her is making yourself understandable
SHe is the best, that song is very hard, try to rich those notes you all "she missed the note" guys, standing in cold enviroment in not so comfortable outfit. She did it great and smart, besides in one of the interview she told herself that both of her songs will be very hard to sing live. Everybody has limits, and its different when You are recording in studio and you can sing it 10 times before You reach the best version. She is amazing!!!!!
@@idkwhattonamemyself452 Well from what I heard when she is singing her voice isnt wracked, she just have bad and good days, like every singer. As You mention she sang and still sing 8 shows a week on Broadway. From what i know she is 46 or something. Ok not Wicked but in other production. And she really can get high note. Besides she is not like "I am the best you can't tell anything wrong about my performance" She said many times that she hear her mistakes, that she know that this day her performance may not be so good, she isn't selfish claiming to be better than others artist like for example madonna, who lets just say it ,cant and never could sing and without all the electronics would be nothing. I think that some pope are just jelous, I wonder how many of them could reach half of this note that she reaches. Sorry for my english it's not my first language.
I absolutely love Idina! Obviously she has some damage from her time as Elphaba, but she still pulled it off. I’m glad she didn’t attempt things she knows she couldn’t do, especially in that weather. But I see the point as say the Elsa on Broadway, Caissie Levy, had also been Elphaba and now Elsa. Regardless Idina is amazing!
@@alfreddelacruz870 oh, honey. Look I'm sure you sing it great. But unless you are a professional singer, have vocal training and have properly warmed up, I don't think you hit every note. This is one of the hardest Disney songs and not just anybody off the street can sing it. But I'm sure you did well in your attempt.
It’s so cold there. I don’t blame her for missing. She’s also a really busy woman. She still has the most beautiful and perfect voice even like this. Just wow. 👏🏻
i hate her mic movement choices, but i completely agree with her not attempting to hit high notes in freezing weather at night. the voice cannot do it well. the high temperature that day was 52 degrees fahrenheit. and we don't know what time it was there. after sunset, so, temp had probably gone even lower.
As somebody who is a performer, they have speakers all around so if she belted (in cold weather btw) into a mic she'd ruin it by making it pop and give feedback.
True vocalist! Some of us have to trickle the end of a note because we can’t sustain it all the time. Sometimes your voice is good and some days it’s not😘
I can't even sing in a room with normal temperature... So kudos to Idina for singing in the cold! She was great! (and it was the first time she performed it!)
Yeah I noticed that too! The way they cut the song I guess it made more sense to have the the ending in that key given they didn’t have much of a transition to get there, super weird tho!
Guys, listen don't understand she is doing her best on every show, I mean there's many factors to maybe not sing like before, arnel pineda is having the same, you all have to understand that nothing is forever, they were the greatest singers and they still are but come on time is goin on and they are working and working, so they're not young anymore, they maybe never gonna sing like before but they're still great, and still sings like no one else
I think Idina did an amazing job! Show Yourself is SO HARD to sing. She adapted the song so she would be able to sing it sounding good and without damaging her voice. If she sang the high note every time she performed the song live, she would 100% damage her voice and wouldn't sound good anymore. So there you go, SHE NAILED IT OKAY
She’s such a queen for doing this in the cold, some people may think she did really bad, but could you do better in the singing in the cold? Show Yourself has a a lot of a high notes that are very difficult to hit, nice job Idina, you did amazing!

She's the original singer, if she wants to change it guess what, she can it's her choice. Brava Idina, keep on being the amazing person we all know you are. I'm still wanting to see this, and might take the day off tomorrow and see it.
Singing outside in a very cold weather. Big respect! She's amazing ❤
”Its time tryyyyy-- SHOW YOURSELF!!”
Yes, not just at the end in between as well hehe..
I think the song in general has a quite a "Wicked witch" vibe
Omg Yass as soon as I heard show yourself for the first time I immediately thought they were copying the “a-ah-a-ah-a” from defying gravity lmao
I love her voice. No ones voice can be that POWERFUL. A reason she voiced Elsa, comes with so much work and practice and its Idina Menzel she works so hard. I appreciate that and I love her. I'm a big fan.
She still sounds amazing even in the cold weather!!
I love love love her voice, I’m so glad she decided to preserve it
even if her voice is damaged and shes struggling i still am getting chills. she's so incredibly talented and giving it her all.
She did an amazing job given the weather that was endured there, she looks so exhausted!

Love her voice,no other actress can sing like that from Disney Movies
Anna buturlina russian Elsa
I say Let It Go, When We’re Together, and Show Yourself are equally phenomenal songs!
into the unknown is better than show yourself in my opinion
sofia jerez Yes, but not quite impactful as Let It Go.
Show yourself is better than let it go
Everyone is just fighting here this is better nope that in my opinion all are best
Show yourself is the new let it go and into the unknown is the new how far I'll go
I kind of wonder who sang the line "You are the one you've been waiting for" That was perfectly timed and was so beautiful. You can tell she did not expect that. But regardless she is still one of my favorite singers. I am obsessed with her frozen songs and she had to dig deep down inside to be able to sing that well in the freezing cold. That right there deserves a standing ovation. She is amazing
I love how she knows that her voice won't be able to take it, so she moves the Mic away. Shows charector
yes! That's what I thought!
ChimneySweep07 Anyway, shes still an incredible singer and I’m excited to see what’s to come from her
I'd like to remind everyone that at least unlike Mariah Carey's live "it was cold out so i lipsynced" b.s., Idina is ACTUALLY singing LIVE in freeeeezing cold weather, and while on vocal rest...seriously....given the press tour they were, she was speaking and probably singing for close to 10 hours a day. Even speaking for extended periods of time is going to weaken/tire your voice out. This was BRILLIANT for the strain her voice is being put under and the conditions. Serious talent in this woman, folks.
Im just speechless...
Her voice is sooo beautiful...
I'm honestly so proud of her for the way she handled that. I admire the way she overcame that stumble. Performing live is so nerve wrecking and I'm not sure I would have handled it as well. She truly is a professional. Honestly this just made me love her more and gave me a tremendous amount of respect for her.
I think she sounds absolutely wonderful. She does seem a bit tired though, nothing to do with her voice.
Merida watson she was in the cold. that was so impresive
Merida watson she was also sick during this

you're welcome! :)
Y’all I’m just letting you know that she was quite sick during this- she had a cold like Elsa in frozen fever lol
That’s why she sounded tired and stuffy and didn’t look like she was enjoying herself as much as usual.
She said in an interview she wasn’t going to do it but she would have felt really bad for the fans so she did it anyway, that’s why it’s in the Lower key.
Yeah you can tell, it was also really cold over there that night and as you may know, it's hard to do that.
Harmonizer which interview?
Show yourself and Into the Unknown are really the key of the entire movie. But Show Yourself is like a hit deeper
this song iS sooooo HARD to sing... i dont blame idina for sounding a little off/weird
She is singing in cold
She had a colddddd
I think idinas real singing ,voice is this cool.and its a bit different from elsa..she has to mould herself into elsa to show shes singing for her..this makes her very awesome..
Her voice and range are so powerful! Her technique also seems to have improved. Kudos to her, the other singers, and the songwriters. It’s not fun to sing in cold weather. 😅 It is alsoreally wise to adapt the key to something more reachable. It shows humility and wisdom.

Idina I know you'll never see this but I'm sending you all my ♡. You got it. Nobody could've sang this song the way you did.
The reason she can't sing high notes here is because it's too cold for a full breath soprano, I mean look at the condition do, understanding her is making yourself understandable
Such raw power in her voice. No autotune needed, its perfection
She always says singing Elsa requires a ton of prep. She has a bit of trouble singing her big numbers live for that reason
What a powerful voice! Omg! I am amazed how she put it so perfect in her voice...
She is amazing!!!!!
kamarza And she’s approaching her 50s. She sang defying gravity eight times week every week for years. You can tell it’s wrecked her voice.
For me, i actually don't think it's hard cause i always sing this everytime when i heard this song.
This deserved to be nominated for the Oscar. It was way better than Into the Unknown!
It’s so cold there. I don’t blame her for missing. She’s also a really busy woman. She still has the most beautiful and perfect voice even like this.
Just wow. 👏🏻
It is impossible to sing in cold temperatures... hats off to miss Idina, I have literally lost my voice while singing live in cold temps.
Her high note is not a joke, idina u r voice is so beautiful and magical
캐릭터 엘사가 부르던 그 노랫소리가 사람 입에서 나오는 걸 보니까 진짜 신기하다💙
0:51, 0:53 to 0:56 i don't care what any of you guys say that's the most aesthetic part of the song
i hate her mic movement choices, but i completely agree with her not attempting to hit high notes in freezing weather at night. the voice cannot do it well. the high temperature that day was 52 degrees fahrenheit. and we don't know what time it was there. after sunset, so, temp had probably gone even lower.
As somebody who is a performer, they have speakers all around so if she belted (in cold weather btw) into a mic she'd ruin it by making it pop and give feedback.
She fricking tried
Man I’m scared to see her voice her in 28 degrees Fahrenheit
The three trashcan Shobers aw crap-
Also it sounded like there were audio issues in a few parts of the song that may have been related to the sound tech as well.
She is a fucking goddess with that voice of hers god damn lol
I feel so bad for her voice was so shaking cuz of the cold but she still did so good!!
She will never stop shinning.

I love Idina Menzel this is the best singer
"She missed a note" whoever said that, why don't you sing that? You "know" the notes tho.
her voice is EXTREMLY BEAUTIFUL
Such a fantastic voice!!!!!☺️🙂
yes! She's amazing! :)
True vocalist! Some of us have to trickle the end of a note because we can’t sustain it all the time. Sometimes your voice is good and some days it’s not😘
She's amazing singing in cold like that
That song is so hard! She did amazing given the cold circumstances
I can't even sing in a room with normal temperature... So kudos to Idina for singing in the cold! She was great! (and it was the first time she performed it!)
Her voice is just out of this world
she is incredible!
I love this song so relaxing beautiful ❤️
she did well considering the ending is higher than the movie key! I wonder why?
Yeah I noticed that too! The way they cut the song I guess it made more sense to have the the ending in that key given they didn’t have much of a transition to get there, super weird tho!
It's not higher. It's the same key as the original.
@@lilbirb8333 Yes it is. The last chorus modulates to the key of Cm, both in this performance and in the studio version.
"Cold never bothered her anyway"
Ana Narin I think it really got the best of her this time
Those are some freaking great note choices oh my gosh
I think Idina did an amazing job! Show Yourself is SO HARD to sing. She adapted the song so she would be able to sing it sounding good and without damaging her voice. If she sang the high note every time she performed the song live, she would 100% damage her voice and wouldn't sound good anymore. So there you go, SHE NAILED IT OKAY
she's really amazing, i cant even do that highnote in "all my liiiife" part
OMG that was amazing and especially in the cold I know ur voice is a bit tired but just remember you can do it and to never ever ever give up!😊💕
Oh god.
Her voice is trembling so bad from the cold,
Bat it still sounds soo gooood.
She’s such a queen for doing this in the cold, some people may think she did really bad, but could you do better in the singing in the cold? Show Yourself has a a lot of a high notes that are very difficult to hit, nice job Idina, you did amazing!
I’m js I love how everyone in the comments is so supportive💕 usually when idina messes up I see a lot of people saying “oH sHes sO bAd” or “sHes soOo incOnsIstEnt” but I’m just like y’all try singing these songs in the conditions she’s in when she messes up. So thanks everyone for not being dirt bags💞💞.
