Great video! I was looking for the history of Western State Hospital, where my 3rd great grandmother died. I hadn’t found out where she was buried and now thanks to Grave Concerns I have found her! Nancy Huhn died 10 years after her husband, a Civil War Union Vet died. Thank you so much!

There are graves inside the dog park area. There is a corner that "vibrates" with energy. Been years since I've been out there, this has me wanting to make a visit.

Thank you for helping those troubled folks rest in peace... I've seen them when the ruins used to still be there floating around all ghosting like
    ..

I just find it so sad how we went from putting people into an institution for reasons like reading too much, going thru the big change or mourning a loss of a child, to now where we have people almost killing themselves on a regular basis due to addiction or severe mental illness. Good luck getting them the appropriate help for them. They are a harm to themselves everytime they overdose but they are not getting the help that they so desperately need. Because they refuse the help, their family member's hands are tied due to the laws. This is all so very heart breaking.

If you want to know something interesting about the Vulcanology of the state. The hotspot that causes Yellowstone is the reason why certain parts of Easter Washington has such Gold deposits. I think a Wazzu professor made that connection followed from the coast as it moved to or should I say tectonic plate moves making its location now In Wyoming. Not surprising seeing as Great Britain, Scotland and Wales and Ireland were all part of North America at one time.

Several years ago, when the state was negotiating a lease on the grounds that are now the park, I was called in to give a bid on consulting. I took a tour of the property and I noticed an area that was surrounded by a hedge. I realized that there were graves. So, when I talked to the person putting out the bid I asked "how do you want the cemetery handled?" "What cemetery?" "There's a cemetery." "Oh yeah. Don't worry about it. It will just be part of the park. We'll put a picnic table in there or something." The attitude still pisses me off.

I used to work here as security. There are underground tunnels too, that took the soldiers to the water, in case the Indians attacked years ago.

At Ft Steilacoom? I thought it was only Northern and Eastern State that had tunnels. Well other than the one that ran beneath Steilacoom BLVD. Any ghost stories? After the Army I worked as a security guard in Austin TX for St David’s Hospital in Downtown Austin next to the University of TX Austin campus next to the State capital so I know the security thing. Just curious

@myleftnut3934 Yes the tunnels are at Ft. Steilacoom. Still there. They were made originally to go towards the water (puget sound). to escape an Indian attack.

There was a Old Western state in the park up on the hill. They finally tore it down. There actually is more markers up there.

The Willard Sanatorium in New York State. Women could be locked up for grieving over the death of a child at the mother could not get over the loss in 3 days. She would be locked up. Men coming back from the war and had Shell Shock could be locked up. Men that were homeless and what was considered indigent. They had a large room that was walled off at Willard Sanatorium and here stored lots of patients properly. What a sad place.
