I remember when I 1st started listening to Home Free. And, like you, I am a bit particular about classic/ iconic songs being covered. The 1st time I heard them do Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, I had to make myself sit through it because they were changing things. However, now, I don't ever question IF it's going to be good. It's a matter of "HOW GOOD IS IT GOING TO BE!" I learned to trust that they'd give homage to the original and still put their spin on the music. And no matter what they do, the music never suffers! I'd love to see you react to Elvira with the original artists the Oak Ridge Boys. Tons of chemistry and obvious respect between the groups! As long as you keep Home Free in the lineup, the Home Fries will be here. And even though we're passionate about our guys, you'll rarely get any real drama from us! ❤

This is one of their quarantine videos. They put out a ton of content during the pandemic & quarantine. Since they're located in 3 different states, each band member recorded his audio & video in his home/studio & then it was all put together by their amazing audio & video producers. They released a new video every other week. They certainly helped me maintain my sanity during the quarantine by giving me something to look forward to! They're finally back on the road & I have tickets to see them in October - my first Home Free concert!!! Really enjoying reactions.

We Home Fries are a loyal bunch! Thanks for the welcome and enjoy our favorite group!
Okay, you know Tim Foust, bass with 5+ octave range, from East Texas, now Nashville.
Adam Chance, known as Chance, is a baritone/bass from South Alabama, now LA. HE HAS A 5 octave range just short of Tim's. I usually say his voice is like a fine whiskey, smooth and smoky. He started this song.
Adam Rupp, beatboxer extraordinaire and beautiful tenor. He's from Minnesota and was a trumpet player through college and uses that "round" breathing to beatbox.
Rob Lundquist, tenor and teddy bear. From Minnesota, although he has picked up a decent southern accent from his band mates. I love listening to him in R&B and he has a great whistle.
Austin Brown, tenor 1, and Home Free's heartthrob lol. From So Ga now in Nashville but you hear a Ga boy in his accent most!
There's the guys, a little history and each has a wicked sense of humor. They have as good a time as any. My favorites are Helplessly Hoping, In the blood and God bless the USA.
BTW, if you saw the height charts, that was a joke for us, they are all 6' and above.

My youngest has her learners permit. She'll be driving in January (2022). By the way, you'll like Man of Constant Sorrow since Tim has a longer base singing part, though the main part isn't as low as this, he does drop it out in the chorus right after his solo. Another fun Cash song is their version of Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kapplan who used to be the base for Pentatonics.
TIM and adam CHANCE were the two low singers on this track. Chance was the bass for his last group. Austin is the high tenor (longer hair) and Rob is the other tenor (teddy bear). ADAM rupp is the beat boxer and (I think) has a tenor range when he sings backup.

Home Free is the real deal. They won the NBC show the Sing Off in 2013. They are so good and they sing all genres of music and sing them well. They can also be silly or serious. I love this version. This was filmed during Covid so don’t pay attention to the height charts, they’re all wrong. Tim, the bass, has cut his hair recently so he looks different. He has a 5 octave range so he can sing that low and sing tenor as well. Chance (eyebrows) is the baritone/bass. Rob (glasses) is a tenor. Austin (reddish hair)is the high tenor and can do harmonica too. Adam is the beatboxer and is super talented. Try Helplessly Hoping, I Can’t Outrun You, Yours to hear more great harmonies. I can't speak for all the Home Fries, but as for me, I'll say it... Tim brought the bass with BALLS behind it. Loving your reactions, you're really fun. Subscribing now! Keep up the great work! Tim Foust is the bass, the guy that took the first verse is Adam Chance (just goes by Chance) is barritone and does bass when Tim is singing lead, beatboxer is founding member Adam Rupp, and is a freak of nature. High tenor is Austin Brown, and lead tenor is Rob Lundquist. And you're right, these five together just blend perfectly. Looking forward to more from y'all!

    Tim Foust is the bass.
    Chance(Adam Chance) is the baritone.
Adam Rupp is the beat boxer
Austin Brown (they say the heart throb) is the high tenor.
Rob Lindquist(the beard man) is the lead tenor.
(Chris Rupp left, but you will see him in older videos. He usually wears a hat. He was a baritone.)

Well here ya go. The first singer is Adam Chance - baritone. The second one is Mr. Bassman himself, Tim Foust. Trust me, the note at the end is not even hard for him to hit. He can go about an octave lower. The long haired bearded guy is high tenor Austin Brown. The big bearded guy is tenor Rob Lundquist and the beat boxer is world champion Adam Rupp. If you want to get a real feel for Tim's low range, the best one I can think of is Do You Hear What I Hear, Sold or Honey I'm Good. But any of their live songs are good also.

  • @rogerwest603
    @rogerwest603 3 года назад

Once again, I might have sent this already, but you asked for names!
    Home Free is:
Earlier Years Chris Rupp (usually wearing a Cowboy Hat & always smiling) and Adam Rupp, the Beatboxer founded the Group. Chris went Solo in 2016 with which he is doing Very Well!
Adam Chance who goes by Chance was brought in to replace Chris!
Chance is the Baritone that has a 4 Octave Range.
He can replace Tim, the Group's Bassist when needed as Chance was the Bassist in his previous Group before Home Free.
Back to Adam Rupp, he's the incredibly talented Beatboxer and can sing well too!
His Beatboxing is above and beyond any other Beatboxer that I have seen!
He's also won several Beatboxing Championships to boot!😁😁
Now to Tim, the Group's Bassist has a 5 Octave Range so he can Lead the Group as a Bassist or a Tenor or something in between!
He's Phenomenal and he's also taught some other Bassists from other Acapella Group's to be able to do certain things that allow them to get Lower and hit Notes they weren't able to before now.
The Bearded Singer is the Group's Tenor and he is Awesome!
Such a Creamy Tone and at times his Range is incredible too!
To end the Group's Members is Austin the Group's High Tenor.
    This man is unbelievable!
He can hit the highest of the highest of notes and he still can do Low Notes almost Baritone standards!
Now hopefully you can get caught up with the Group's Members!

Tim and Geoff have similar ranges, but different techniques to hit the low notes. They're also great friends. Matter of fact, Geoff arranged Home Free + the Oakridge Boys version of "Elvira" and Tim appears in Voice Play's "Just Sing" in a mock rivalry with Geoff which is hilarious. @@TheWrath74 Oh, it is! The two bands totally adore one another, and you can tell.
Oh, back to Voice Play for a moment. They were on the Sing Off the same season as HF. As a part of each week's music they had to learn, they had to work with another band on a sing-off song just in case. So VP & HF had one put together that they never did on the show, but they loved so much they recorded a video for anyway. That's Survivor: Zombies vs. Hillbillies. Well worth checking out sometime when you branch out into other a capella groups.
And imo one of the best things to come out of the Sing Off was the one with Home Free and the Filharmonic -- "I'm All Right" from Caddyshack. It left Jewell giggling so hard she could barely comment. Find one with the lead up to it and not just the performance because Rob learning the dance moves is a treasure (and Tim's sassyness is awesome as well).
