Great job !! The full bassgasm wasn’t just Tim’s low solo, but that lower than low bass line on the chorus right after his solo. Time to check out Butts remix to have some great laughs, especially while y’all are having a cocktail or 8 & then when you recover from that one, how ‘bout Can’t stop the feeling & Meant to be. Those two will let us witness the drunken dance party from y’all too. 🤣 You KNOW that y’all can trust me & can thank me later. C’mon, follow me further down this rabbit hole …

Home fry here. This is my favorite Home Free song because of Austin but Ring of Fire is my next favorite because of Tim. The bass is off the chain. This was my first introduction to Home Free and I fell in love. There is so much sexy ...its dripping off the screen. My Lord... Bless it. This is my favorite also because of Adam and Chance. When Tim was singing Chance jumped in and was unbelievable. And Rob with his record scratch was so cool. This song is the best.

It's time for introductions. The guy with the glasses is Rob Lundquist, the low tenor. The ginger who did most of the lead is Austin Brown, the high tenor. Tim Foust is the bass who has a 5 octave range. The guy in the background is Adam Chance, the baritone/bass, who was by the way, doing that background didgeridoo-like sound. Then there is our own beatboxer extraordinaire, Adam Rupp who has won competitions. He also has a sweet tenor voice which can lay down five part harmony when needed. We Home Fries are very proud of the fact that these amazing men are not only individually super talented, they are also all nice, decent, down to earth family men. What's not to love?

We all seem to associate a song with the first version that we hear regardless of how many other versions we subsequently hear. For me it is the 1963 Peter, Paul and Mary version that was released under the title "Sorrow". That was one of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar back in 63/64. Here are a few song facts, I am trying to do this from memory so I may be off by a year or two. It was first published in 1913 as a folk song and first recorded in 1927. There have been many covers of this song since that first recording. As it was a folk song, most of the first recordings were by folk artist such as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins and others.

The groups Baritone Adam Chance or just Chance, lived in northern Alabama and they shot this somewhere around there. Chance also has a video showing you around the ol' homestead. Tim has videos of good eating places in Texas. Lots to explore with these guys. Loved your review !

Yep, definitely caught Tim's one octave bass drop to an F1 (only one note from an open E string on a bass guitar; IIRC, you play bass, which is why I used the reference). For reference, most bass singers can only sing down to an E2 (same as the open E on a guitar). They call a low voice a "bass" but it's actually nearly an octave higher than an instrumental bass.

Since you like the movie you two might like to react to the version of this song by the group Union Station. Dan Tyminski of the group was George Clooney's singing voice in the movie. BTW, the song was first written down in 1913 but is even older than that...

For the record, since some are asking, we do know who sang this for the movie. We just meant that hearing that song made us think of that scene from the movie🙂

@@theswolemates In all honesty I didn't connect Dan Tyminski with the movie until I saw an interview he gave joking about how when he told his wife that he was to be Clooney's singing voice she smiled and told him that it was her dream come true...😂

George Clooney did not sing this song in the movie. The voice belongs to Dan Tyminski. He is part of Allison Krauss and Union Station.

We know he didn't actually sing it. We were just talking about picturing that scene of the movie when we hear the song.

It was Chance who had the low note after Tim`s solo. He sings bass to when they need it.
