I never thought we'd ever see a spiritual successor to vpw2 and no mercy and I think we have Kenny Omega to thank for that. But I'd love to hear what you want to see in the aew game.
Yeah I'm thinking of making something along the lines of that and talking about all the stuff from the AKI games that we don't see anymore in wrestling games.

The GM mobile game looks interesting but the AEW game is looking very promising. Super happy that AKI & Yukes are coming back. Soooo many great memories.
I made a huge amount of All Japan and New Japan CAW staples on No Mercy. Kobashi and Takada were my go-to's. Seriously, watching a rumble with Taue, Kazushi, Kobashi, and Akiyama was truly amazing. And all their resources were available no less! Oh and who better than Onita Atsushi for a hardcore title reign? Ah...wonderful days...
I had two caw stables filled with Kobashi, Taue, Takayama, Omori, Sasaki, Akiyama, Hansen, Dr Death, and Albright. The other stable was Onita, Takada, Koshinaka, Great Muta/Mutoh, Chono, Hashimoto (duh!), Tenryu, Shinsaki, and Masakatsu Funaki. I had a pretty good Hatabusa, well, at least "H". CAWs dont like corner specials so I gave up on him, kinda pointless for him. Sometimes I'd throw Gedo/Jedo in there, you can make a perfect Bruiser Brody as well. I chose these guys specifically as they have the most resources available tied over from vpw2. I literally had both games and translated menus just to get exact movements and parameters. And I loved every minute of it. But seriously, Kobashi FTW..maybe well see burning sword again someday..
I totally agree. When I found out about virtual pro wrestling 2 I felt it was the best out of all the N64 wrestling games. I actually just downloaded it onto my retro pie and have been playing it again.
There was another WCW game in the works too from AKI that got cancelled cause WCW was bought by WWE, and they used that work they started on that game to complete the Def Jam games.

Thank you for the compliment on my CAWs. I would like to make videos for AEW Fight Forever and yes if there isn't going to be a community creations will have to see how I can support CAWs with the game through videos.
Yuke's was making games on the PS2 while AKI was on the N64. AKI wanted to work on PS2 but THQ had Yuke's for that and that was the end of AKI/THQ. They released an Ultimate Muscle on the GameCube and another on the PS2 I'm America and several for home and arcade exclusively in Japan.
My wishlist would be a pretty significant group of unlockable legends. We've already had so many come through AEW: Taz and Arn like you mentioned as well as Jake, RnR express, Tully, Madusa...yeah it'd be dope to see some legends.

Very true! But the difference was they didn't have ownership in the company that was working with the game developer. Kenny has a lot of sway as EVP and this is basically his pet project for the company. I also think his knowledge of Japanese culture/language, his history of being in Japan, his knowledge of gaming and just general all around goodwill to want to deliver a great game will help the working relationship between AEW and Yukes/Geta-San to deliver a game close to his vision. So I'm hoping things turn out great!

BBG when you say you collected marvel figures are you talking about the ToyBiz figures? Man I had so many of those. was my favorite figure line as a kid.
I would love to see more fantasy booking videos on any of the aki games, at least ones where it's possible, also would definitely enjoy some videos of your figure collection

I hate to be negative but lots of games have name dropped No Mercy but the games fall way short. I do like the look if AEW’s game and hope they pull it off

How about Impact, ROH, or anywhere else? Just a lot of out of touch boomers that only see the bottomline. If you put the effort like Omegama has, you'll get the money and all that.
YUKES didnt make No Mercy, VPW2, Wrestlemania 2000, Revenge or WCW World Tour. They made SVR and 2k series. If it was AKI then I'd have a better belief that it would be "NO Mercy or VPW2 esque. But its YUKES and if you hated SVR series or the 2k series...its going to be the same.
True but Yukes doesn't have to make a game in their older style and with the guidance of Omega and more importantly GETA-San they can make something more similar to No Mercy hopefully. I think that's why having GETA is key cause he can be the leadership for the team in creating a game more similar to the AKI games.
@@BeBetterGamerWrestling if they have the Sell Stick (Analog Stick) like No mercy where you can stay down as long as you want or let your opponent hold a move on you as long as you want to make a big Ukemi comeback, then it will be like the AKI games. If Not the essence is lost becuase thats what made the AKI games so realistic, you can actually have decent smart matches.

WWF NO MERCY should be like AEW #2 game! It was another Game called WWF BACKLASH N64 but got Cancelled
There was another WCW game in the works too from AKI that got cancelled cause WCW was bought by WWE, and they used that work they started on that game to complete the Def Jam games.

Backlash is a myth. Sanders Keel confirmed on the Talk Shit! podcast in March that AKI knew No Mercy was their last WWF game.
