Good review. You addressed most of the qualities and waste drawer. I was looking for a quick synopsis of what the buttons were for, when to add litter, and a bit of troubleshooting.

How often do you need to replenish the litter? They have an optional hopper that refills it’s regularly and I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra money.

I have 6 cats, so I may not be the best person to ask lol. They prefer this one (but do use others) and I have to add litter around every 3-4 days or so.

Hi Kassandra, Ihave three small cats and change the waste drawer twice a week. As I do this I add a large scoop of litter everytime I clean out the drawer. I have not purchased or ever used the hopper. For my routine, I imagine it to be a waste of money and another item I need to remember to fill.

Can you tell me how loud it is? Like would the noise freak out a cat? Also my cat is pretty big, he’s a Maine Coone. Is this made for big cats as well?
    Ty!

It's one of the quieter ones I've tested. I have several cats and none are freaked out by it. And I have a 22 lb ragdoll and it's plenty big for him. It has a large opening and decent sized interior. Yours should be fine 👍

I WISH that I could provide a review of my LR4. I got mine in April of 2022, and my 4 cats (only 1 of them) used it ONCE, in the first week, and have never used it again. I've tried literally everything that you can think of. So when this didn't work, I saw that some people online said that their cat/cats didn't like the enclosed space, so about a year and a half ago, I bought the Neakasa M-1, and none of them have used that one either. So I've spent about $1,300 on 2 electronic litterboxes that are not being used. Very frustrating. I tried fresh litter, old litter with fresh litter, only old litter. I've sprayed their favorite smells in there. I cut back on their original 8 litterboxes, getting down to just 5 regular scooping boxes, only to have them go to the bathroom OUTSIDE of their litterboxes, when they had nice, new electronics litterboxes that were fresh and clean. I've tried picking them up and placing them in 1 of the electronic litterboxes, only to have them jump right back out. Offered them treats, but still NO! I purchased these in advance of a move that I'll be making within the next 6 months, to a MUCH smaller home that will not have room for 8 regular litterboxes. Moving out of my 1700 sq ft home, out into a "tiny home" in the desert, about 400 sq ft max. It's almost move time, and I don't know what I can do.

That's crazy. Hmm do you think they might have anxiety issues? Calming collars can help

My LR2 keeps jamming and getting stuck upside down. I hope 4 is better

Oh yeah? No I haven't had that issue. After a few weeks at least.

I've had this issue several times with LR3. If you aren't already aware, there's a reset button that you hold for 3+ seconds to reset the weight after cleaning the litter box and adding litter. This usually helps prevent the issue. Also, I've found that the back plastic piece of the globe was not completely inserted into place, which caused mine to constantly get stuck. Mine still gets stuck from time to time, but these two things should greatly reduce the occurence.

I don't recommend it. The base is a rubber, cats break it with their nails. It's a pain to keep clean.

What base? Inside the drum? Make sure you trim your cat's nails btw.
