    WCSF Game 5
Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz turned up the intensity as they overpowered the Portland Trailblazers 88-71. The Blazers were prevented from ending the series in the Delta Center. Blazers lead was cut to 3-2.
Desperation and intensity powered the Jazz right from the start. Malone knew he needed to have a big game to help his team. The Mailman delivered 23 points and 8 rebounds. John Stockton struggled shooting but dished out 14 assists. Malone scored 11 points in the first quarter and 8 points in the 3rd quarter.
Tempers boiled over in the 4th quarter as Blazers Head Coach Mike Dunleavy was ejected and Karl Malone and Brian Grant had to be separated. Intense playoff atmosphere.
Happy 60th Birthday to the Mailman!
P.S. Malone followed this game 5 with his all time worst playoff performance in a Jazz uniform in game 6.
