Subscribed!!! Waiting to see how you change the regulator since my is bad i think. The window doesn't go up all the way sometimes. Also will love to see more maintenance video on the Cayman!
If your window has a distinct crunching sound when it’s rolling up/down, your window regulator is out. Once you get this far with removing the door panel, the regulator is pretty much right there. There are 6 fasteners that hold on the black metal plate. Remove it along with removing the window regulator motor which are held on with 3 screws on a white plastic wheel. You can’t miss it. I will try to get more Cayman videos but it’s been so reliable... :-).
Nice to see the 'fun' car getting some love here. I hope not to need to do this but nice to have the guide in case I do. Fair to say that a window regulator video is soon to follow?
Daniel!!! :-). Unfortunately, I already did the window regulator in this session. I should have done it the whole way through but didn’t want to make the video too long. That and I needed a second set of hands to film. Did you sell the AM? :-/
NOTE - on the triangle piece near the rear view mirror you pop the bottom OUT then slide the top part UP (and install reverse order) ! My mechanic broke the little tab because I didn’t tell him that and it’s NOT replaceable
I will be doing this on the driver side to replace the door handle as the tension spring has warn out. Awesome content, Gratitude!
Nicely done. It is a pretty easy DIY. Take it slow.

The triangle piece that covers the wire harness to side mirror? Is yours just missing now? Don’t forget to hit subscribe for more content.
I need to attempt this again on my 997 to figure out why the window rattles when it's down but couldn't get the circle piece out
What circle pieces? Which part? Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
@@512TXSDIY the plastic cover piece behind the door handle. For some reason mine will not budge.
Did you try a plastic trim tool or a sharp pick?
I need to get a Caymen first, then I'll be able to really put this video to use. ;)
When you’re ready Sam, we can go car shopping. There are many many options to pick from depending on criteria, styling, and of course budget.
