the real MVP with your buddy putting his EVO run on the line so you can make a review for us. It does look nice...but can't help the fact I am noticing a lot of recent offerings in the area are going for the ultra small and compact form...and that puts me off...just a bit wider would be nice and not all packed up. The metal frame though does look nice and the added weight is good.
Yeah, I am grateful to have cool fightstick friends. If you're not into the ultra small stuff, then this may not be up your alley. I have some more reviews in the works over the next month or so and I think one of them in particular might be up your alley. Anyway, thanks for watching!

I also loved those original cartoons as a kid. PA did say that they are working toward a future solution regarding the hot-swap issue. I guess we'll see. Thanks for watching.
I just got one of these, in the pink with same button colours. It is absolutely fucking gorgeous! Fyi you can change the button caps, you push on the top side, lift on the bottom. Do it slowly and it pops off. So you can order different case colors and button cap colors if you want to change design as time goes on. I can see why they are not telling people you can change the button caps, would be very easy to break the switch if your not gentle I personally would like less clicky switches, wife is not a fan with how noisy it is. But it does feel great and tactile. With the anti slip matt they include with the pack, it sits in the lap and doesnt move at all.
Yeah, I agree on all accounts. The color is great, the switches would be a bit better if they weren't as loud (and they have an atypical kind of snap-back feel, hard to explain). It is cool to see that they are offering different top panels so you could feasibly change your color if you wanted a different vibe. I am still liking the pink quite a bit at this point. Thanks for watching!
No customization for switches and keycaps after purchase is a head-scratcher. I don't have exp with the MX ULPs, but they sound interesting. Basically, I see this as their attempt to go all-in on making the thinnest ABC.
Yeah, being stuck with certain color keycaps doesn't make much sense especially if they plan to sell "limited color runs" of the aluminum cover in the future. I guess it makes the most sense to get neutral color buttons like white or black if you might want to switch case colors in the future.
We know it's a pain point for people, and are very aware that the normalcy is to offer in field swaps. This is a brand new product and know that we are trying to address that issue as best we can given the usage of the MX ULP
@@Phreakazoid187 I respect the aim of the design to achieve minimum thickness while maintaining functionality and build quality, and I totally understand the sacrifices have to be made in other areas to get there. But can you clarify what "address" means? Is there a possibility, even if it hasn't been fully fleshed out yet, for post-purchase customization of keycaps? Or is it that you are addressing the concern by offering more options up front so people can at least get exactly what they want in the first place? Your communication about the product is much appreciated, by the way.
@@goralim Sure, technically we're going to try doing both. Initially we're going to try doing what we did at EVO which is offer up front customization with the order, for now this means we're probably going to have to start slow (allow x amount of orders, once those are built allow more) so that we don't get behind and can gauge how long it takes for our production team to build incoming orders. As we get more efficient that will open up more and more. The second hasn't been fully fleshed out, but we want to give people the ability to swap your customization in field, even with the ULP not allowing safe keycap removal. This also opens the avenue of in field fixes in case an ULP breaks, without a huge cost associated. With it being so new, we figure an up front customization will carry a customer for a good while before they get the itch to swap, and by that time we will be ready with an answer. And you're very welcome, I've always felt it's important that questions get addressed directly as much as possible. Thanks again for your transparency. It definitely looks like a niche product among niche products, but one I'm very interested in, especially not being too concerned with customization changes. Hope I can grab one in the first drop!
I received mine yesterday. I bought silver with all black buttons. I'll be getting the pink model when back in stock. The bottom padding was left off mine as well so I think that's how all are shipping. I love the build quality. I'd like to see something with a similar machined aluminum case but with hot swap switches.
Awesome! The silver with black sounds cool. And it looks like they are selling the top panels separately now, so you could feasibly change that color to mix things up. But I agree, hot swap switches would be great.

It looks impressive, however, tbd customization might be a flaw a lot of people can't overlook. Especially compared to the regular Mpress, the Snackbox Micro or something like the Bentbox that I have
I agree. However, I think there's a lot of people who don't mess with customization and just use whatever comes stock. (Like how many Obsidians have we seen over the years that are completely stock? Seems like a million.) So maybe that's the group where their buyers will come from. I feel like most people who watch this channel are pretty deep into customization (as it should be!) so we might not be the true target. IDK. Thanks for your comment and for watching! I appreciate the support.
@@HushMySweet1 I can appreciate that I and many others might not be the target audience for this product but it's always nice to see developments in the scene. I also really like your coverage of fightstick and leverless content. Keep up the good work
The most interesting thing that I've noticed is the button spacing. All the buttons here really close to each other and all the distances are equal. So the top and the bottom "hit" button rows are closer than usual which is a good thing in my opinion. Smash Bros "boxx-style" controllers usually follow this design idea
Yeah, I also like that button vibe. I'm not super familiar with Smash stuff, so that's interesting they were doing similarly. Thanks for watching, dude!
people really underrate how much easier motions are when the directional buttons are closer together. that's the thing i hate the most about my snackbox
I like the looks and the dimensions, could even be 12 or 13 inches long for comfort, but the non hot swappable switches is kind of a deal breaker for me, especially since the cherry ultra low profile wouldn't be my choice anyway... A version of this with hot swappable low profile Kailh or Gateron switches would be so much better, even at the cost of extra thickness.
Yeah, I didn't have any experience with these switches before trying this out. I guess the switches being sort of locked in right now is the price of keeping it so thin. Hey, and even if you don't buy, at least you're informed and that's what I like in an audience: for us to know EVERY fightstick option in the world! Thanks for watching, dude!
Great review! Can you test to see if this works with a usb c to usb c cable? The original m press only worked with a usb c to usb a cable in my experience
Hmm..I didn't know that about the original. Interesting. I have looked for the better part of 15 minutes in my house and I can't seem to locate a usb c to usb c cable. That's unfortunate because now I'm curious.
Yeah, the color is really vibrant and cool, and the whole thing is easy to carry. What is the go-to all-button controller option in South America? Do you guys use 2nd Impact customs or what would you say is most popular?
Wow. Way better build quality than the Snackbox and competitive pricing. And the stubs on the Snackbox are actually flat on this. Impressive Paradise, impressive.
It's definitely a cool take on the all-button concept. Anodized aluminum is pretty novel and I don't think I've ever seen a thinner controller. Anyway, thanks for watching!
I got this as my first leverless at evo. I didn’t know razor was making a leverless. I’m content with the nano. It feels like it was built to last and the aluminum case feels good to play on. I don’t think this will become my go to controller however for what it is it’s very good
Yeah, the metal does kick it up a notch beyond some other offerings. The PS5 PCB pre-order should drop next month for October shipping. Thanks for watching.
I hadn't got that impression. They released that V2 art edition not even 6 months ago (if memory serves). I just assumed they were having stock issues or something. 🤷♂
I think they said they were restocking every five days or so? Looks like only the top panels and caps are available atm. I think this has to do with them attending Japan for Tokyo Game Show. Not the answer you were probably hoping for, but check back every week or so, I guess. Thanks for watching.
Seems cool but odds are the PS5 upgrade pcb will push the price closer to the $300 range. Better off waiting until they start selling PS5 compatible versions.
Target for the Brook addon is $120, so yes it puts it inline with that range. The GP2040 addon will be much less expensive, and they have some neat options for current gen. So we will have options
This unit is not self repair friendly; fwiw Cherry ULP switches are very difficult to acquire. As they are soldered to the plate, they are very difficult to remove, let alone repair if your switch loses its spring or becomes damaged. Speaking of which, removal of the caps can lead to the springs to popping out.
Yeah, I tried to say as much in the review. Basically, a user should expect to treat both the switches and caps as more or less permanent installs. PA has said they are working on a future solution to allow hot-swap stuff, but yeah, I think this is more for a person who doesn't want to tinker and just wants something off the shelf ready to go. Thanks for watching/commenting!
When we’re done with some updates you’ll be able to swap and repair fairly easy via inexpensive panel replacements. We don’t expect anyone to resolder these switches. Keycaps are considered permanent installs for now, yes
How are you able to set it to PS3 mode? I just got mine yesterday and haven’t been able to connect it to my PS4 (as a legacy controller). I tried to hold P1 during the PS4 start up as well as when plugging it in and neither allowed me to connect it as a controller
Was this you on r/fightsticks? www.reddit.com/r/fightsticks/comments/16mbpwk/how_to_put_mpress_nano_in_ps3_mode/ I don't have a ps3 to test anything, but someone mentioned "For the games that support it the controller will only work in game. You'll need a ds4 to navigate and exit (PS3 home button won't work)."
IMO the use of not hot swappable switches is a huge -, they did it to make it the thinnest controller but mini hitbox doesn't have to be as thin as paper it only needs to be thin enough which is more than manageable with regural low profile switches, instead of participating in arms race for thinnest controller the should have been focusing how to make it as affordable as possible, mini hitboxes are way to overpriced imo and 180 is still too much.
Fair point, keycaps are understandable as tastes change. But let me ask you, how often do you change your switches? If you found you really gel with MX blues, do you swap or do you keep those basically permanent? Maybe swapping to fix a broken one when it occurs. The idea was to push the boundaries, and show people that we can engineer a product that allows people to use large production level quality components in a low volume implementation. Thicker with swappable switches is easily done, but Bryan and I are trying to achieve something that's a bit more difficult to bring to life. There's less expensive options for 3D printed/Acrylic if the price isn't workable, this is simply another option.
@Phreakazoid187 How many variants of the ultra-low click switches are there out there that would work with this controller? Maybe if there were a few different options from a drop-down when ordering ("this kind of switch is similar to XXX whereas this kind is similar to XYZ, or whatever"), people would be more willing to go with something perceived as "permanent." Anyway, I appreciate anyone trying something new, and it looks like you definitely achieved your goal in regard to the overall thickness. I hope the launch goes well next week!
You can definitely tell keeping it extremely thin was a core goal in the design philosophy behind this. But yeah, I can see that if you don't prioritize an ultra sleek controller or metal, that this may be the device for you. Thanks for watching!
@@Phreakazoid187 it's true I wouldn't change the switches once I found the kind I like but how u mentioned if one of them brakes u have to replace them which is a giant pain in the ass for even a person like me who has a soldering iron sitting on his desk 24/7, and although it's not something that occurs often, from my experience it still happens often enough that I wouldn't like them to be perma soldered to the board. But I guess I just value ease of customisation more than form factor and most people probably will prefer to just have a cute thin controller to play on.
@@rudy5053oh nobody said we would ask people to rework these microswitches, far from it. I’m glad that customization is important to you, even moreso than form factor because I think you’re going to like what we have planned. This is definitely not intended to be just some cute controller, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised to see what we can do with it.
The touchpad button? The function depends on the game, but you can reset training room, start a computer recording, or whatever. A lot of newer games let you remap in game, so you could change its function to a DI or something if you think you could actually/use or benefit from its position during actual gameplay.
The buttons are locked in as they are, but if you have a game like SF6 which supports rebinding functions, then you can tweak it there on the game-side of things. Thanks for watching.
lol, I had measured in inches for the rest of it (youtube says most of this audience is from the US) and I thought viewers would probably have a good mental image of a 24 mm button since that's a pretty standard size. But yeah, I can see how that may have been an odd choice to pair that sound with that shot. Thanks for watching all the same!
I know this is dumb, but it genuinely bothers me that you have to try and call it "pink panther" themed, when there is nothing in any of the marketing that calls it that. Like, I got the pink one too, I like the way the pink one looks, it's slick and really pops... but it's kind of sad in 2023 we can't just straight up say we like the color "pink". Lol
That's just me. I try to theme vids around a concept or specific art or vibe. I've found if I don't have fun making the vids, they don't get made as fast. A cool nod to a childhood favorite made this more fun for me.

What does the TP-CLK button do?
The touchpad button? The function depends on the game, but you can reset training room, start a computer recording, or whatever. A lot of newer games let you remap in game, so you could change its function to a DI or something if you think you could actually/use or benefit from its position during actual gameplay.
@@HushMySweet1 Oh, wow, Thanks! I just picked one of these up at EVO and still trying to figure out what everything does on it.
CAN YOU REPRPOGRASM NBOTTONS AOR THJEY ARE ALREADY
The buttons are locked in as they are, but if you have a game like SF6 which supports rebinding functions, then you can tweak it there on the game-side of things. Thanks for watching.
The nano has active key remapping so you can swap button functions or remap the home panel buttons or the control panel buttons to however you want.
@@Phreakazoid187wher di I buy it?
"Slightly bigger than the standard 24 mm buttons"
*Measures it in inches*
lol, I had measured in inches for the rest of it (youtube says most of this audience is from the US) and I thought viewers would probably have a good mental image of a 24 mm button since that's a pretty standard size. But yeah, I can see how that may have been an odd choice to pair that sound with that shot. Thanks for watching all the same!
There is never any stock....
It's not up for purchase yet online, ETA is next week.
original mpress is better
You like a bit bigger controllers? No harm in that! There's so many cool options these days, you're bound to find the perfect one for you.
I really wanted this, but I couldn't purchase it in time
Dang. They said they'd be making / restocking every 4-5 days, so you may get your chance yet. Good luck! And thanks for watching!
