Hi John, Fantastic job on both trucks! Adding the diamond plate to the yellow flat bed was a good call. The white service truck came out really nice with the compartment body you designed. All the details you added elevate already nice models to the next level. I am sure they'll look great next to your yard office. I can't wait to see how the yard office turns out. Be safe.-Tom
amazing work! the lights, the safety stripes, everything is just spot on. very good work John thx for this update. looking forward to the next one! the weathering on that bulldozer is very nice as well!
Thank you! One if the reasons these projects take me so long to build is because I always randomly think of other details to add lol thanks for watching! John
@@RailserveJohn That's one of the things that makes the hobby so fun, you can suddenly go off on another direction after reading something or seeing something on RUclips. I have several vehicles, but never thought of upgrading the wheels/tires till now! Regards, NS.
OH! MY! GOODNESS! Most excellent work John! I really love that dozer and trailer. Looks fantastic! 😍 I guess the lockdown has some side benefits. 😉 Stay safe John!
Hey John, you did any amazing job on those models. They definitely look great in that MOW scene on the layout. The only thing you may want to consider on that flat bed utility body is adding a rub rail and stake pockets to the side instead of the eye bolts. On most trailers and flat bed trucks, the cargo straps are secured in the stake pockets or on the rub rail. All it is is square stock welded normally every 18” on the side on the deck and a strip of steel welded to the outsides of the pockets. Other than that, those are very realistic models.
Great job on the vehicles. Any thought of adding fuel fills for the RPS Super Duty? It should have a least one on the driver's side. I would love a video on the decoder/light install on the NS switcher.
Thanks Buddy! Would love to help anytime. I’m sure you would pick up on Sketchup right away. And there is so much potential to make whatever you want. All the best, John
Thanks Brad. Hopefully soon. I had to make the top rack bar thicker as mine came broken and was too thin / brittle. I’ll for sure make a video showing all of the truck parts available once they are up. The print only cost around 15$. Thanks for watching. John
realistic looking vehicles, u have a eye for detail that's amazing, great video. john also I cant remember but do they have a printer that can make n scale buses for the layout.
Thanks Anthony! I am sure someone on Shaleways has designed one. It sometimes takes a bit of searching but if someone already designed it all you have to do it click on the buy button lol thanks again for watching! John
Who makes the Railserve decals? Circus city? Modelers. Not all Railserve locomotives have the Railserve "R" on their locomotives and they are not all painted the same. Some has more black and others use different shades of yellow. Last July four recently painted GP9u's came to Utah to switch the former Kennecott Copper facility. Each one is uniquely different from the othe others. And for cab detail,..., very little. No sunshades, no arm rest, no all weather windows, no cab air conditioning. Hope this helps.
Hey I was wondering if you could tell me the length and width of the bed on the gmc and what it would be equal to in 1:1 scale. I'm new to 3d printing and am getting ready to build a tire service truck bed to match our service trucks and the one is on a chevy kodiak. I was going to do 1/64 scale but I may do this scale if I'm able to get that gmc chassis without having to print it.
Wow John those are really nice trucks, you did a great job. Love the 3D printed prats. Did you wind up sanding them down or some other technique? Did you get the trailer off of Shapeways as well? Last thing, have you heard of 1/87th Vehicle Club? They would love to see those posted.
WOW!!! those trucks are super sharp. Are you on any facebook model vehicle groups? this certainly would be appreciated there. Also that bulk truck you did awhile back. Looking sharp brotha. Cheers Rob
hi John...those trucks look fantastic..great job...thx 4 sharing..BTW...i comment on just about all your vids i would really appreciate you do the same for me... vinny

Thanks Steve! I do a bit of prep work to the 3D printed models. I sand/file down as much of the grain as I can. They will never look as good as casted parts but that's OK. Hopefully soon I will have a resin printer that will produce better quality models. I have herd of the 1/87 club, although I am not on facebook. Maybe one day I will join. Thanks for the comment! Thanks very much I have been looking at shapeways for MOW truck bodies. This was a great intro.
Thank you!
Just discovered Shapeways after seeing this video tonight. Could easily burn through a whole paycheck there haha. Thanks for the tip!
Oh for sure! It becomes very addicting lol
The trucks look great John. Very well done. Thanks for the update.
Really awesome! The small details really make a big impact on the overall realism of a layout. Well done!

Thanks Kyle. I have noticed that style bar around the bed. I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for watching, John
Those trucks and trailers look amazing. You need a video on how your prepare and paint your resin and 3d printed items.
Thank you! If you watch the video I did on my Dry Bulk trailer I show the process. Let me know If I can help in any way. Thanks for watching. John

Thanks Scott. Yes I was actually planning on that a while ago but forgot lol I will hopefully get something up on the SW1500. Thanks for watching.
Trucks look great. Lots of nice detail. I may have to try designing some 3D items. We’ll be in touch. ;)

Excellent work John ! Do you know when your maintenance body on the GMC will be available on Shapeways. Really like that style ! Thank you

Yes I had Circus City print out mine. That's what i like so much about Railserve... They have so much variety in locomotives.
Thanks for the sub, I am already subbed to you. Trucks look amazing. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Thanks Dave! Always appreciate the comments.

Its a Glidden color matte Wild Blue Yonder
Hey these are awesome you gunna have to update the logo we got a new one lol I’m a switch man for railserve
Lol thanks. I was thinking abut that but prefer the older logo. I guess the layout will be stuck in a date before the switch ;) thanks for watching
John2618 yeah we do too the old logo is a lot better lol
Hi John which manufacturer makes that dozer?
Its an Athearn model. I believe there are a few floating around on eBay.
Great thanks ! Great work by the way and very inspirational for those in temporary accommodation where only a shelf or small layout is possible.
👍🏻👍🏻
Good God way above My skill level.
They Look Fantastic!!!
Can i Adopt You? LOl.
Andy
