IMO this part is better than the actual speech.. From the moment he sat down he took command and established dominance of the entire stage. "This is Mr. Frank Slade.. Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army. Retired.." And "I'm here in place of Charlie's parents."
I’ve actually overlooked this scene over the years but it really is so powerful. I don’t know if I’d go as far as to say it’s better than the speech though because I’ve never seen anything like that speech in my life, real life or on a movie or show. You make an excellent point though 👏🏾🤝🏾
I just love when he shows up and says "Give us a hand, Son". I so fucking love and idolize Al Pacino as a man, an artist, a thespian, a sensitive soul! I just love that The Colonel defended Charlie!
I absolutely love it. You think the music is for the grandiose nature of what Trask is saying about traditions, but it's actually for the real leader rocking up.
It's a credit to others' acting besides Pacino but the actor playing the thankless job of the prick academy principal, when Pacino shows up, blind but imposing, the principal looks over and the expression on his face is one of intimidation. His character was planning on railroading the boy/student character, esp. with his parents being gone but this mysterious figure, blind but yet imposing, and a former Lt. Colonial in the Army, for a moment, the principal looks very intimidated, like he knows this won't end well.
Manny is so incredibly loyal and capable why isn't he a Secret Service agent. A simple Limo driver? I dig it. Modesty is a powerful tool. People buy it.
Esta escena tambien demostro que el ayudar a los demas es inposible que seas malo en la sociedad vean el director no deja de mirarlo ahi se probo una vez la inocencia de este muchacho

And he continues with a lie. He never met Charlie's parents but he pretends they are close friends. :)

Every single time the Music starts playing on his entrance to the hall , " I WEEP " !!!! Coming to save his friend !!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the minutes that followed, Mr.Trask was no longer "happy to have the Colonel".
He became "Mr Slade" as soon as he started being a nuisance to Mr Trask.
Man, Al Pacino kicks arse in this!!! I'd by a 4k version of just the ending of this movie, absolute masterpiece of cinema!!!
I agree with you!
It is interesting I think that Frank's very capable driver Manny has the same name of Tony Montana's very loyal and capable go to guy.

When a guy that's " Been around, you know." Deals with an academic.
yeah, it takes a muslim to ignore the best part of this scene and cut it the way he did. Get out of here.
Yeah, it takes a bigot to ignore the effort he put in and insult the way you did. You can stay. We are all brothers!
Racist individual.
