My son and i went to race retro this year (2023) and this car was still going round going at full chat, being driven properly as in this clip. He was faster than some other cars that were much newer and faster on paper but those cars drivers were nowhere near as skilful.
Had the pleasure of riding in a few of these in the 70's. 148kph in 1st when it finally gets traction. Noticed that long 1st works well for you in retro races. Brand new they were R5000.00 in 1975. Equivalent to £300. Any chance you know which number car you have?
Hi Mick, I scribbled my car in a stage recently. bent chassis & ripped the front suspension out. lot of work ahead. I put it down to a momentary lack of talent although it was navigator side so I guess it must be his fault. V8 rally cars are the best drugs on the market for keeping you young so I have to rebuild. Will go again for 2015 season. Still got a few years before I need guide dog. Keep it sideways. Karl from sunny South Africa.
Hi Mick, looking really good, I see you are taming the beast, if that is possible. watched your earlier in car footage & feel you would benefit ( rules permitting ) by fitting a steering quickener. my new car is set up at 1 1/2 turns lock to lock & I love it.

We are indeed, Jim. It's ages since I've driven the car so I'm really looking forward to it!
