    Sir namaskar
    There is a big difference between compliment and complement.
    Compliment stands for appreciation.
    Complement stands for fulfillment of something.
    Sir, there are such verbs which don't take objects in a sentence that are known as intransitive verbs like go, come, cry, arrive, is am are was were so on. They need an object namely "I go to school everyday" "To school" here is a complement and "to" is a preposition so it takes an object and has taken school as an object here if we part the each word .
    Such concept I learnt from a book.

    • @englishwithmanik5172
      @englishwithmanik5172 Год назад +1

      I go to school . here " school" is not a complement it is an object because it came after #to# which is a preposition and we know preposition takes a noun or pronoun after it , so school is acting as an object not a complement.

    • @sunilkumarsethy3931
      @sunilkumarsethy3931 Год назад +1

      @@englishwithmanik5172 yes it's right every preposition takes an object and objects become noun, pronoun, gerund, infinitive, noun clause, noun phrase and sometimes adjective as well. But thing is that here 'go' is an intransitive verb this is why it takes a preposition and is also called verb complement, To +school.
      If I am mistaken, do correct me. Thank you.

    Sir I have a doubt. In many textbooks it is given that phrases don't contain a finite verb, which is true in some cases but when talking about noun phrases we also use relative clauses as post- modifiers which contain a finite verb. For eg: The girl who lives in that city is my friend. Here 'lives' is a finite verb. So is this correct that phrases don't contain finite verbs???
