"the distraction works well enough for him to get to the chopper, HE RADIOS THE BOY LETTING HIM KNOW HE IS READY FOR TAKEOFF, in the hangar they have all the kids..." That startled me more than anything in the movie lol
I was really expecting a scary horror Christmas movie and was really hoping to see that Santa Claus from the book. But this was so much better 😆! It was wholesome and sweet while also suspenseful. It took a turn in a direction that I did not anticipate. I loved that they trained the elves to be mini Santa's and then ship them off as literal rare exports. 10/10 😆!
Would be so cool if they could tell an expansion in the universe with like Easter bunnies, tooth fairies really anyone of them that could be profitable.
My dad made me watch this as a kid and I had nightmares because of the kids had the same exact name as me and I had never meet anyone else with my name so it scared the shit out of me, great film I highly recommend
Firstly, this movie looks awesome, and secondly, god is it refreshing to have the parents believe this shit too; I mean, I know they don't right away, but even when they don't believe it's Santa, they still do stuff, and that is just so fantastic. Even some good movies have the 'parents won't believe supernatural if it slapped them' bullshit.
This is probably one of the most underrated Christmas movies out there. Probably because it's foreign and just hasn't had the marketing it deserves. Since it came out, I rewatch it every Christmas. If you can find it, it is definitely worth your time and money.
Such as? Cuz yall swear ebery.mediocre horror movie is "underrated" these days and really most are average to good at best and were properly rated....and its horror not drama or sumn like that, most horror fans usually get the good and great movies from throughout the decades as its just tht type of genre....but lemme guess movies like Event Horizon, which was unfairly called terrible but it was at most average even tho i like it and thts the issue with horror recently, everyone thinks if they like the movie surely it was greater than wht was said lol most horror movie are unfortunately just ok
@@thedevilsrockstxr2309literally. idk what movies that are quote “underrated” theres only so many horror films that arent low budget trash most of them being older. bro just needa watch The Shining or Misery (1990) or somethin and call it a day😂
I’d love to see a sequel about the elves and their arcs; some being good and some turning evil OR them being so obedient and easily influenced that they are taken advantage of to commit crimes or good deeds
omg, a movie from my country!! i love hearing people pronounce the names and places, since the language is what it is 🤣 i remember when this movie came out, i wasn’t allowed to watch it bc it was supposed to be scary. i’m 25 now and still haven’t watched it to this day 🤣 so thank you for this video, good to know what the movie was about! hyvää joulua or happy christmas!
Oh, it's really not that scary; it's more uplifting because it's the classic hero's journey tale of a boy finding his courage. It's really a great flick.
The scene where elves are taught to be Santas reminded me of a soviet cartoon Морозики морозы, where Santas are hatched and taught to do their job by Snowman.
You just unlocked a weird childhood memory for me, because when I was a child, I always used to go looking through the horror section of the iTunes Store and I remember coming across this movie and for the life of me I couldn’t remember the name because I wanted to watch it years later, so thank you very much for doing a video on this film
I was obsessed with this movie when it came out; a lot of us Americans have been fed up with Hollywood for a while and seek entertainment from other countries. I have been following Jorma Tommila ever since and watch anything he puts out! His recent movie, Sisu, is awesome!
I really loved the reversal of so many holiday movies where a good child who believes in Santa Claus helps Santa save Christmas, here he learns the true meaning of Christmas in order to help take Santa down 😆
I love foreign fairytales and folklore to see such stark differences in how different people tell and perceive traditional stories. It looks like Finnish Santa is American Krampus? Except Krampus was clearly sold to us as a demon who was Santa’s nemesis. “…he doesn’t come to give, but to take…” …I love that movie BTW. (There’s a horror movie made about the Tooth Fairy too… “dark” something, anyway that’s a good one too. )
A tooth fairy horror sounds funny and honestly pretty neat. I imagine the tooth fairy isn’t too hard to make creepy when you think about it, why is this mystical creature collecting teeth? And how does it have money to leave? It’s already a good set up for some weird things to happen
It's a bit worse than krampus. A The northern finnish version just straight up eats children. And korvatunturi was thought to be made from the skulls of the children it had eaten covered in dirt.
This one is right up there with "The Hallow" for me as far as folklore movies go. I love ones that show original fairy tales as what they REALLY were, which was cautionary tales to keep children from actions that might endanger them.
18:20 it’s hilarious that the elves just stop after their boss is killed. They’re like “oh shit, I’m not working til I know who’s signing my next check”
Rare Exports was a great Christmas Movie! I usually watch Christmas Evil and Silent Night Deadly Night and assorted mainstream movies like Christmas Vacation and Scrooged! Merry Christmas everyone!
This movie feels like a prequel to some kind of massive evil crime organization... I wouldn't be surprised if the boy grows to become a James Bond villain or something, given his quick thinking and wits
I really enjoyed this movie. I've been binge watching Christmas Horror movies and this one feels more like a holiday film. It's a nice balance between the two genres.
This film sparked my interest in Finnish culture- that and finnish hardcore. I ended up learning a bit of the language, getting a sauna, and living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan 😅
"the distraction works well enough for him to get to the chopper, HE RADIOS THE BOY LETTING HIM KNOW HE IS READY FOR TAKEOFF, in the hangar they have all the kids..." That startled me more than anything in the movie lol
Yeah I noticed that too lol
I had to rewind just to hear it again
LMAO same
16:08 btw.
Ever since I saw this film in 2014 it has been my favorite Christmas Film to see every season. Thank you for sharing this with more people.
Seen it a while ago..... Really good movie
Same! I'm so glad this movie is finally starting to get some of the love it so richly deserves!
BRO RARE EXPORTS IS MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE IM SO GLAD SOMEONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT
I was really expecting a scary horror Christmas movie and was really hoping to see that Santa Claus from the book. But this was so much better 😆! It was wholesome and sweet while also suspenseful. Wholesome until the santa penises started flingin around 😂😂
If people were scared enough of something to build a mountain on top of it, then that's a pretty good sign not to mess with it.
My dad made me watch this as a kid and I had nightmares because of the kids had the same exact name as me and I had never meet anyone else with my name so it scared the shit out of me, great film I highly recommend

I think it's on Peacock right now
This is probably one of the most underrated Christmas movies out there. Probably because it's foreign and just hasn't had the marketing it deserves. Since it came out, I rewatch it every Christmas. If you can find it, it is definitely worth your time and money.
I from finland🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🔥
This was an amazing take on genre. Loved it. Spooky but not too cliche. And that ending was perfect.
You should start doing older ones too put some of the younger generation on some of the underrated horror movies from b4

Haha it's too scary
I really liked the movie, but I wish they had done more with Santa himself. Merry Christmas man! Thanks for the videos!

Tervisiä Virosta, here my parents have talked about it sooo much, cult classic basicallly, sadly i havent seen it yet
@@19ThreeLions97 really? Thats awesome, it really is one! Definitely recommend:)

This is one of my favorite Finnish films, and I'm happy to see FoundFlix feature it and bring awareness to larger audiences.
Merry Christmas FoundFlix !🎄
Man Ive been trying to find this movie for years. BEST. CHRISTMAS. MOVIE . EVER
Ah yes.. but best 'HORROR' christmas movie ever.. You know cause....Die Hard.😊
I don't know what state or country you live in but my public library has this movie maybe yours might have it too
This movie seems amazing! Definitely gonna give it a watch, and I have a good feeling it's gonna end up on my yearly holiday watchlist as well!
This movie was such a rare gem. I was looking for Christmas and Krampus movies and I found this. Great surprise!!
Happy holidays! If you can could you cover The Cell with Jennifer Lopez, saw it as a kid once but never understood it
16:09-16:12 is very loud and not level to the other audio, just a heads up!
It's very funny
That little boy is legendary for being brave and taking charge
Needed this upload thanks merry Christmas 🎄🎄
This sounds fantastic! I'd love to see it.
I just checked and my public library has this movie
Happy Holidays FoundFlix 🎊🎊!!
I had a very vague memory of this movie since I was 9 when it came out. I legit thought it was like a fucked up dream or something
don't blame you at all
This has been one of my favorite Christmas movies for years now!!! Thanks for covering it!! Merry Christmas 🎄🤗
ThanksMuch for sharing ! Merry Christmas !
Iv actually been waiting ages for you to do a video on this movie
I love this movie and i am someone who loves Finnish Culture, so it was a double love from me!
Omg I requested this!!! Love you dude!❤
Merry Nondescript Winter Holiday, Chris and Jaime!
I really loved the reversal of so many holiday movies where a good child who believes in Santa Claus helps Santa save Christmas, here he learns the true meaning of Christmas in order to help take Santa down 😆
An ending explained on Christmas Eve? Thank you, Santa Foundflix.
Extra appropriate since here in Finland we generally celebrate Christmas on the 24th (that’s why Pietari’s advent calendar ends on a big 24, not 25)
OMG i love this film! And the shorts
The illustration looks SO much like Krampus!!
Lots of love from Australia been watching your videos for 3 years now Merry Christmas ❤😊

I love this movie. I remember when it first came out it was so hard to find, but worth it.
It's so different. In a good way.
It's a "rare export" in its own right.
18:20 it’s hilarious that the elves just stop after their boss is killed. They’re like “oh shit, I’m not working til I know who’s signing my next check”

Merry Christmas everyone!
I found this movie four years ago on RUclips (semi-bad quality but still) and it was amazing I was wondering if youd ever cover it lol great video
This actually looks like a good movie. What an interesting concept. Merry Christmas all! ❄️🎄⛄️
It's really fun! There's also two shorts that are great

This was an amazing find and very unique. This ones def on my xmas list

HE RADIOS THE BOY, LETTING THEM KNOW HE'S READY FOR TAKEOFF. thanks for that ;)
How the heck this movie starts from a horror into a stonks motivational video.
what do you mean this wasn’t a wild fever dream conjured from the depth of my ten years old sickly and weary mind?
Thanks for the Video 😀
YAAAASSSSS!!! I LOVE this movie! I've waited SO LONG for this review!
Awesome movie! The landscape and sets are believable as well.
Interesting movie! My Christmas go to movies are Elf, Home Alone, and Die Hard.
This movie feels like a prequel to some kind of massive evil crime organization... I wouldn't be surprised if the boy grows to become a James Bond villain or something, given his quick thinking and wits
The sequel is a courtroom drama, that idea struck me, and it was hilarious.
I love this movie! Glad more people will see it because of you 🎉❤
I loved this. Downloading the movie right now
I watched this last night, I loved it
I hope he does a video on Jacob's Ladder someday.
Easily one of my all time favorite films.
Please do A Creature was stirring 🙏🏻??? Didn't love it and still scratching my head. Happy New Year great channel.
I could not expect any of this movie
I really enjoyed this movie. I've been binge watching Christmas Horror movies and this one feels more like a holiday film. It's a nice balance between the two genres.
What a cool movie!
Absolutely love this film it's hilarious 😂 and strange
2:56 the friend on the snowmobile looks like rowley from the live action diary of a wimpy kid films
I like the mike spike at 16:08
Strangely wholesome and might be the first movie that you recap that I will actually watch lmao
@FoundFlix please do an Ending Explained on Don't Look Up. I love that movie and always enjoy hearing your take on things.
Thank you for the recommendation 😊
Please do an ending explained for Monolith (2022). Love your videosm
Love seeing movies about Finish culture.
This film sparked my interest in Finnish culture- that and finnish hardcore. I ended up learning a bit of the language, getting a sauna, and living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan 😅
Merry Christmas
Holy crap i just watched this a few hours ago! Nice.
seems like a fun watch and not the ordinary Christmas horror.
Please bring back foundflix presents!
The Icelandic "I remember you" needs some explaining 🙏
Happy holidays, mates. 🎉
11:39 "out chasing girls." Where? Lol
Not seeing the real Santa and just the horns was scary as my imagination filled in the blanks
Merry Christmas guys
Loved this one. Can't wait for The Alchemist Cookbook.
I saw this a while ago. Certainly different than other holiday horror movies
you should watch and review "when a stranger calls" (2006) and give your opinion on it. I do not know how you have not made a video on this yet
