    AH.MAY.ZING!! You have made my head spin -- and a BUNCH. I sell pens for a nice amount, but I was thinking how cool it would be to just drop in one of these pens/pencils into the box when I ship one of my really nice pens to a customer. They'll go nuts! Thanks, Rich!

    I like the idea. Pretty simple and not expensive. The same logo, saying, or whatever on a batch wouldn’t take too long. Could probably do 50 or 60 of them in an hour. I guess just have a finish point so the laser moves out of the way enough to swap the pieces out and hit the start button.

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  2 года назад

      Yup, real easy Bob. I did 75 double sided last week in just under an hour. I have a new wood jig with the cut out on both sides for the clip, so I just flip it over and hit start.

    well once again Mr. Rich i'm following your lead. I ordered a box today. I'm going to do them for the guys i work with for a Christmas gift. I do need to learn how to set my positioning, so i will just go back through your library again and learn that set up. Thanks Rich for all you do and i'm hoping to be a patreon after the first of the year. cheers

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  2 года назад +1

      *Right on Jim!* A quick easy way to set the position is to just drag the graphic to the center of the workbed and hit frame. Move the template to the approximate area and then hit shift & frame so you can see where the laser frames. Just move the work piece until you get it perfect. I do have a video on my to-do list about framing to coordinates, but it won't be for a while. I have a long list! 🤪

      Well the silver parts are indeed plastic but you can't really tell. I don't think they are any more likely to break than any other pen, and in fact, since it's personalized, the user would likely take better care of it. It's on my to-do list Sir! The key do raster images is doing a grayscale test card. The results of the test on a sacrificial piece will give you the exact settings you need to use. I’m doing a pink with no luck at all. I’ve used a bunch of settings, the one that worked was 2000mm/m - 60% power with two passes. I cannot replicate. Signed frustrated. Please help thank you. John

    I am asked to make several pens for a office staff. My question is using the parameters you suggested for the space on the pen works great but wondering when I have long names the text is small but on short names the text is big. Is there a way I can keep the text the same height and length no matter the length of the names whether short first and last or long first and last or 3 names? This way looking at all the pens they look uniformed. Thanks.
