Hey there, I just want to take a moment to thank you for all of your efforts. The average person who isn't involved in making video content may not realize all of the time and efforts that it takes to create quality and informative projects. So, I just want to say, thanks so much.

Thanks for the Lightburn version 1.5 update preview, Rich. I have been working with Lightburn for quite some time now, and version 1.5 is the first update that I have actually been looking forward to in a while. It looks like this update will have lots of new and useful features. Keep up the great work! 👍 👍
I can't thank you enough for your tutorials. I have a healthcare & tech background, and when I started my business, Lightburn seemed daunting to me. Thanks to you, I'm finally understanding how to use this software ❤. God bless you, sir.
awesome video as always. What I am hoping for (and have submitted a few requests to Lightburn) is ART LIBRARY dropdowns like what the material library does. It would be so helpful if I can have a "Christmas" library and under that I have Ornaments, Grinch, Elf etc. as dropdowns. As it is now, I have to have a library for each group of images.
Hi, Rich. I'm fairly new to laser cutting and engraving (about 6 weeks) and mostly use mine for engraving tumblers and glass drinkware as gifts for colleagues and friends. I'm also currently using the open beta version of 1.5 and love the taper warp feature. While it's really good, it's not perfect. Before engraving, I strongly recommend converting a duplicate of the design to bitmap after using the warp tool, printing it on paper and physically holding it on to the product to be engraved to see how it looks and then make any necessary adjustments to the design (printer paper is much cheaper that a $20 tumbler). I'm sure you've covered this in a previous video, but I felt it was worth mentioning. BTW, I love the tutorials! I have learned so much from you in such a short amount of time. Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!
It's out now, Friday 9th February, I downloaded Lightburn to a second PC and it was V1.5. The version on my laptop also prompted for an update to V1.5 when I opened Lightburn. Thanks for your videos they've proved a great help in getting my set up running but I'm still very much on the lower end of the learning curve...!!
Thanks for the preview Rich - something to look forward to. By the way the clocks we have in the UK have 12 markers at 5 minutes intervals. (5 x 12 = 60) not 10. 😊
Hi Rich. My name is Kevin. I bought a AlgoLaser end of November and I want to thank you so much for your help in getting going I have learned a lot from you and have made some really nice things though your guidance. Thank you. Keep up the great work.
Rick, thanks for the preview... I also downloaded the new version a few days ago. there is another interesting function: if you have two objects on the sheet, try moving one of them by holding down ALT... projection lines will appear to position the object relative to the other...
Hey Rich great video as always. While watching your video I'd switch into LB and try that feature. Messing around with the guideline feature I decided to check if it could be rotated like in AI & Aspire, well son of a billy goat! It works you have the ability to rotate the GL any angle you want. Nice upgrade LB thanks.
Thank you for showing us. Sounds like you a feeling better, hope you continue getting better. Since it is still beta hopefully they listen to you about your drop down idea for the art library.
Thanks for the preview of the v1.5 new features. You mentioned you make a lot of clocks in the video. Have you a video on them, I would love to see some of your clock designs.
I actually have one coming next week on the design of a clock I made for my wife for Valentine's day. You can watch this livestream: ruclips.net/video/CULTS-29HCc/видео.html Skip to 10:49
I saw a new 1.5 feature video and they also showed the ability to change the radius without getting out of the radius and getting back in with the new settings.

I have an Xtool S1 with the auto air assist unit with 7 settings (Auto, Off, 1,2,3,4,5) . Lightburn will turn it on, but it is on the low (1) power setting only. A feature that would allow control of the level of air assist by layer would be really great. Any insight into lightburn support for this?
Highly doubtful. The air assist you have is manually controlled with a variable resistor. Grbl M7 & M8 commands control simple on/off relays. Lightburn is Grbl sending program, and can't do more than Grbl can.
Hi Rich, I’m super new to Laser anything. Your videos are super helpful. I currently run an embroidery shop. We’re planning on adding laser engraved patches mostly for hats. What version of Lightburn would work with the Wecreate vision ? From what I see in this video I could really use some of the features for embroidery designs as well. Thanks for all your amazing videos.
Great video, as always, Rich. I'm looking forward to the update. Lightburn is a GREAT program and so robust. It is easily worth the price, and mine expired in early January and I renewed at half-price. What a deal!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I have a question on the beta version for LB v1.5. If I download it now will it override my current version or will it create a new LB shortcut? Wondering because I have 3 on 3 different machines and I'm trying to decide which one to put it on.
It will overwrite the current version Sharon. Don't worry, it's been in Beta for a long time and it's pretty much bug free now. Worst case scenario is you run the installer of the previous version to overwrite it if you don't like it. They'll both likely be in your downloads.

Looking forward to these new features. Thanks for the review. Though this may not be the proper forum, I have a newbie problem. I was working in circular array. I drew a long narrow rectangle and wanted it to rotate around its center point to create a Sun ray looking object. The first time I performed it, it worked as I wanted. After playing around with circular array awhile, I must have modified a setting in it, and now when I try to recreate the original design. The rectangle instead of rotating around its own center point it is rotating around some other center point far away. I feel stupid in asking this but how do I get it back to rotating on the rectangles own center point? Ps what is the proper forum for asking questions like this?
Great video thank you. When I update my lightburn, does it erase all my settings and libraries, or do they stay untouched? I've never updated mine obviously.
how do you have you set where when you pick fill it shades that letters. mine dont change if i put line/fill it just shows lines is there to change that?
Was there any update for changing your workspace from vertical to horizontal? I known in one of the forums posted on the LB site said they were working on it

Hey Rich, have you heard anything about a release of Lightburn for CNC's? I recall it being mentioned on a recent vid when you went to LBX 2023.
Millmage should be launched soon. I have the Beta version now.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy sweet! would love to see your review of it.
That won't be for a long time! I do have the Beta version on my laptop for testing, but I'm backed up about 4 months on my regular work.
It is out now! 😊
Yup!
I wish they had more apply buttons on other options.

I have a clock video posting next week that will answer this question.
Hello, i think lightburn should add an hour counter for the laser machine
Lightburn has a public forum with a place to suggest new features. That's where all the new features come from!
Where can I get engraving settings for my neje A40640 using light burn?
On my free forums. lahobbyguy.com/bb
Great video thank you. When I update my lightburn, does it erase all my settings and libraries, or do they stay untouched? I've never updated mine obviously.
No, just the core files and new features.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy cool, thank you very much.
I have a longer ray5 20w do you have a download of your materials library?
They're on my free forums in the members only section. lahobbyguy.com/bb

Was there any update for changing your workspace from vertical to horizontal? I known in one of the forums posted on the LB site said they were working on it
Not that I know of. You can read all the new feature updates here: lightburnsoftware.com/pages/public-beta-releases
The new feature I have seen that I like best is the ability to radius curved lines.
Yes, it works on any primitive Greg.
1.5 Public Beta now available on the Lightburn website!
Link is in the pinned comment!
Rich, when will the cnc features be added to lightburn?
They won't be. Millmage is the new stand alone program from Lightburn set to launch in 1st quarter 2024.
