What about people that have neck issues yet their back is so straight that the modern head rests push their heads forward, thus forcing them into a terrible hunched position and causing more pain? How can they get comfortable in modern car seats?
One thing that causes knees to be higher than the hip is shoes, thick shoe soles. Wouldn’t that be correct? What would you suggest, other than changing shoes?
Your video was very informative, down-to-earth, easy to understand, and helpful. Thank you very much for sharing this information! The simplicity of it was beautiful!
I just started going to the chiropractor, and I want my Doctor there to help me adjust my car seat, but she doesn’t seem eager to. Do most chiropractors not do this, or should I ask again? Also, I drive a mustang, and it has bucket seats. I have the option to raise the rear of the seat, but I dislike this because the pedals are raised up high, and it makes operating the pedals uncomfortable. Is it still ok do drive with my knees slightly higher than my hips in a sports car with sciatica?
I've started getting sciatica in my new car. I can't work out why. I have my seat as advised and I don't feel as though I'm off centre or anything. The only issue is I cant have my seat too high or my vision out the windscreen isn't great. Really considering selling the car already as I haven't had this issue with previous cars except one Mini I had years ago. So frustrating.
Thanks guys, been driving uber forb3 month and had sciatica pain s bad forbthe last month, didn't know it was from my poor driving posture. Finally relief!
I am at the moment off work with sciatica i drive a peugot expert van in the uk as a postman this is a big type van 3.5t would it be advisable for a smaller van getting in and out
Every since Iv been Lyfting my lower back pain has spread to my left shoulder (I’m a lefty driver) and sometimes it goes up to my neck. Help! I’m 6”3 in a midsize car.(don’t hassle me about why I’m 6”3 with a midsize car, unless your going to buy me a full-size car or truck).
I had never had seat bolsters until I got my CRV. I only got to take short test drives and didn’t notice they see, to force my shoulders to round out and cause me pain (never had any other back issues). Anything I can do about this?
Hi Kevin, thanks for your question...ideally the knees would be level or slightly higher than the hips...in some vehicles it may be difficult due to seat position limitations however.
@@spiritualak5147I toy disagree with you on this man. I drive a 2014 civic and found the best position for mitigsting back pain was creating an obtuse angle, low knees, hight hips and back leaned back while still comfortable. The comfilife cushion adds even more back support, and just so happens to raise my hips even more than the seats alone can.
So you are recommending resting your head on the headrest? That sounds good and I know it would help me relax --- initially my issue was the headrest pushing my head to far forward. Then I has someone upholster my car and I have the opposite problem... xD
You definitely do not want the headrest pushing your head forward David...but the closer your head is to the headrest the better, as it would help prevent neck injury from a collision. Thanks for watching!
Any questions about your car seat position? Ask Here.
Do you have some tips for posture when you have to work at a desk. I hsve to write a lot, so my head is down long periods.

Sorry to hear, try an aggressive lumbar support to help maintain natural curve in lower back.

Make sure your seat is angled back to approximately 120 degrees...getting out of your vehicle to move around will help as well...all the best!

Tough one for sure...I would tilt your seat back a bit more than normal and see if that helps...best wishes.
Your knees are still higher than hips though?

Your knees are supposed to be a slight higher I find that I have no back pain that way
@@spiritualak5147the ideal seating position is an obtuse angle not an acute angle
