I love how in the most of the cod animations, the fire selector is clearly set to semi automatic, yet the gun is firing in burst or full auto. The battlefield animations do this as well.

By the 70s and 80s, the a1 started to show it's age, so the M16 was put up for further upgrades and development. So the M16a2 was the latest edition at the time, with the burst fire being the most notable upgrade. The US Navy weren't comfortable with a burst fire rifle, so they opted to have a rifle that had the features of the a2 but with the fire selector of the a1. Thus, the a3 was born. The M16a3 is essentially a full auto a2. The M16a4 is a further development of the a2. With a newer stock, detachable carry handle to mount reflexes and scopes, a handguard and upper receiver with picatinny rails, overall a very modular weapon. It still retained the burst fire of the a2 for some reason. So you could say that the original M16 gave way to the a1, which further morphed into the a2 and a3. Only the a2 was developed further into the a4

Three days ago I went into a local shop to buy an AR. Found my favorite AR15 variant, the FN15 Military Collector M16A4 (I can't really decide between it and the M4A1 version), just a carbon copy of the FN M16A4, so I held it, had a decent budget... Then saw the price, looked at my buddy and said,"Well, it was nice to finally hold one." I ended up getting a Radical Firearms RF15 for less than half the price, and when all the accessories were bought, I had enough to buy that rifle a second time to match how much that M16A4 cost.
What I'd really like to see would be some kind of clip before the video that shows the rifle in real-life. Just so you can get a grasp of how it looks, shoots and sounds.

Someone figured out you can just redesign the shape of the bullet and change the casing length of this to fit comfortably in a regular m16 5.56mm barrel. Think of it like gabbing the plastic bottle cap on a big bottle being taken off and screwed onto a smaller bottle. This is what you can use a abridged summery explanation. When I first heard this my reaction was, "Dang. That's clever. I never thought of that. They are smarter than me."

It surprises me how lightly most games treat the bolt going into battery off the catch. I've handled ARs and it's a fair bit more noisy due to the spring and bolt mass than what most of the games make it sound like.

The Homefront was an AR-15. You can tell this for two reasons, 1: it was only capable of semiautomatic fire and 2: it was a game about civilians forming a militia to fight back so the AR-15 would have been the dominant rifle in the hands of civilians prior and after the revolution.

Some versions of the M16 have different trigger groups for different fire modes. The M16, M16A1, and M16A3 have safe/semi/full-auto as their fire selector options. The M16A2 and M16A4 have safe/semi/3-round burst
Heavystep it's the m4a1, but it's practically a m16, just slightly different as it has a round foregrip instead of the triangular one in most other games

A criticism of the M16's three round burst is when firing full auto its the second and third shots that are least accurate and the rest of the shots in full auto are much more accurate as the recoil "settles" into a rhythm. I've never seen any game implement this, it makes the weapon far more balanced between semi auto and full auto where only longer full auto bursts are really worth it. Yes, I know this means the 3 round burst is bad, it is why the latest M16 rifles have the feature replaced with full auto.
@Daniel no M16A4 is fully auto. The full auto version would be the M16A3, or even perhabs the original M16 rifle itself. A4's are always burst and semi auto
Comparison? Really? and this is all you have to say about each weapon? Are you gonna go over the stats like ammo capacity? Inaccuracy caused by moving? Recoil patterns? How are they different and the same? Stats vs real life weapon? What are the relative prices? Firing a few shots with each weapon isn't good enough to be justified as a "comparison" video. This looks like a work done by an amateur who just plays lots of video games.
At least state the ammo capacities and other basic statistics. Also, most of the games do have the same 100 point scales. It's just that console peasants don't get a clear indication of their remaining hitpoints.

A criticism of the M16's three round burst is when firing full auto its the second and third shots that are least accurate and the rest of the shots in full auto are much more accurate as the recoil "settles" into a rhythm.
I've never seen any game implement this, it makes the weapon far more balanced between semi auto and full auto where only longer full auto bursts are really worth it.
Yes, I know this means the 3 round burst is bad, it is why the latest M16 rifles have the feature replaced with full auto.

@Daniel no M16A4 is fully auto. The full auto version would be the M16A3, or even perhabs the original M16 rifle itself. A4's are always burst and semi auto

Comparison? Really? and this is all you have to say about each weapon? Are you gonna go over the stats like ammo capacity? Inaccuracy caused by moving? Recoil patterns? How are they different and the same? Stats vs real life weapon? What are the relative prices?
Firing a few shots with each weapon isn't good enough to be justified as a "comparison" video. This looks like a work done by an amateur who just plays lots of video games.

Gotta love how I just played Insurgency and thought about it being in this video... and its first :D
It's amazing to me how many of these reload animations don't put a round in the chamber, that's a huge oversight. Maybe people should know how a gun works before making them in a game.
