I like how very few games depict the M14 as select-fire
Seven-Six Two i like when the m14 is always select fire
it is kinda realistic but really unbalanced if implemented incorrectly
Seven-Six Two because most of them have had the fire selector switch welded to the semi-auto position.

i remember the Quantum of Solace game having an M14 with select fire (though it fires really slowly when on full auto)
I like the Black Ops 1 M14 sound, and Payday 2's M14 reloading animation

I love Pubg mk 14 sound, I take it mostly for the sound
M24 and silencer in PUBG has the best sound
Robin killing floor 2 sound and reload is good imo but not my favorite Payday probably is

@@quirkyusername1093 M14 is pretty much M1 Garand with 20 round box magazine. People were experimenting with M1 Garand that takes BAR mags before WWII even started. There is nothing modern about M14.

But just keep in mind that:
old ≠ obsolete
What determines whether a gun is obsolete or not will all boil down to it's practicality on the battlefield and the M14 serves the role as a DMR in the modern era.

@@grenadeout562 Not really, however a fully automatic conversion of the M1 Garand w/ detachable mags (not exactly an M14) were considered and some prototypes was made to test but eventually that was dropped forawhile
I'm not even the biggest M14 fan, but that M14/M1 receiver just has something special.

M14:M1 Garand without ping
A subtle thing you can hear when shooting one is a little ring. I liked seeing GTAV, Insurgency, and Payday2 have it. Insurgency has the closest to the real thing I think.

You literally can't get better animations than the ones in Killing Floor 2 xD. They use mocap, means what you see ingame are real life animations

Now, if I was responsible for the production of the rifle, here's 3 things I would do:
1. Reduce the rate of fire from 700-750 RPM to 500-600 RPM to make it bearable for the troops to use in full auto.
2. Give it a pistol grip and a front grip to maximize recoil control, in addition to a built-in compensator.
3. Extend the magazine capacity to 30 rounds instead of the usual 20 rounds to reduce the need to reload often.

Personally, I think that there's no reason you need 30 rounds of 308, 20 is more than enough for whatever you're trying to shoot. Now if it were in 5.56 30 rounds would make more sense.

The HK 416 is in Call of duty black ops II as the M27 assault rifle. Its also in Cod Ghosts as the M27 IAR in the LMG class.

@@kopa2263 The MLE Lee Enfield has been around since 1895 and later in 1905, it was improved to the SMLE Lee Enfield and those rifles are still in service today.
The SMLE has been used in over 30 wars, but are commonly seen in WW1 and WW2 (as mentioned) games.

Isn't the M39 EMR a different system of the M14? EMR means Enhanced marksman rifle
It's the same action but with a different stock and barrel. It's basically an accurized variant used by the army's squad marksmen.
both were sort of derived from M1 Garand
The EBR and EMR is a modernized M14 and M21 respectively, both comes down from the Garand during the Cold War.
probably one of the main differences are the trigger unit, hence the former can full-auto and the latter can only semi-auto. technically one can make it 3-shot burst if one knows the workings

There is M14 Resistance : FOM Version called "M5A2 Carbine", But this game is PS3 Exclusive only.

I like how MoH: Warfighter has a different reload animation for when you reload with bullets still remaining in the magazine. It’s a nice change from all the other games that just throws away the mag no matter what lol.
Battlefield 4 s another weapon that is a 100% m14 but modified which is called 'Bulldog'. It is the m14 but they moved the barrel and magazine behind the trigger
