    All i will say about him is that, controversy and Gimmicks only go so far. I liked the aesthetic and story of the first abulm but every artist needs something fresh for their new era that is why the J Christ didnt hit, the Gimmick was tired.
    Im still interested in seeing what he has to offer next tho

    I would love Lil Nas to move into an alternative rap pop era with less shock value and more artistic expression. Features with Tyla, Doja, Chappell Roan will work well. I think he’s overhated on the internet but many people still enjoy his music and what he is up to next.

    I love the marketing around Montero album and with the exception of the last release of his last release (J Christ) his music is nice. People hate him because of his sexuality not the religious shenanigans. Alot of other artists has done the same thing. Lady Gaga and Madonna head the list. I think he needs to reinvent himself. Plus its kinda obvious his label don't know how to market him. But thats the case for alot of black artists.

    He's an artist I like a lot album-wise but I think he struggles with singular tracks without the thematic binding of a full project to go with it.
    I think he's super talented but a lot of his big hits give a false view on what his actual catalog entails. I don't think many people expect his rap/r&b/sadcore pop when they hear the upbeat pop music and country tie-ins.
    I'm sure he'll get another hit soon enough though. His issues seem more creative than popularity-based. I definitely recommend:
    Scoop ft Doja Cat
    That's What I Want
    Sun Goes Down
    And Dolla Sign Slime ft Megan Thee Stallion

    I think people love to say “XYZ fell off” bc they don’t release music or projects every 8 months. Like y’all, reminder that “eras” used to last for years and it was not uncommon for artists to release every 2-5 years a new album.
    Truly Rihanna changed the music industry in the early-mid 2010s with her constant releases and then that became the standard. Unless you were constantly in our face with bangers, you were a flop.
    Wild.
    I still love and bang Lil Nas’ music in rotation. He’s super talented!

      I think as a new artist you shouldn't dissappear for 2 or 3 years maybe 1 but anything past that no! attention spans are very short in this day and age

    • @Aeunax123
      @Aeunax123 2 месяца назад

      @@RamboQuellz people can make an album last a year. Nowadays people are so used to folks dropping album after mixtape after ep every quarter like. One album, release 4/5 singles that can make an album cycle last 1/1.5 years easily.
      It just is not feasible for the quantity, consistency, quality, AND authenticity that people demand of musical artists nowadays on top of promotion, performances, award shows, etc to actually push their product (music) to be successful but also happy with their output. It’s what ends up happening with artists like Drake and Taylor Swift that they end up putting out completely mediocre projects to meet the constant demand required of them. But for giant and established artists like Taylor and Drake, their reputations can afford them mid quality music while keeping up with all of their other obligations. New artists can’t do that and it’s crazy that it’s being so loudly demanded by the general public.
      It’s okay for people to take breaks, maybe the public has to rethink their conception of constant consumption, and then when these artists burnout people are confused..

    Lil Nas X could have kept it somewhat ambiguous or subtle like some Black queer artists, but he chose to take his sexuality as a topic head on. I was actually very surprised how emo and dark his debut album was considering he’s an online troll and generally appears to be a funny character. I hate that people say he fell off just because he went a couple of years without dropping major hits. The same way he caught us all off guard with the vulnerability and artistry of the Montero album, I think we should give him benefit of the doubt. He dropped a phenomenal project that we’ll be discussing for years to come when folks said he was just a one-hit wonder. He could’ve easily just dropped an album full of pop manufactured bops, but actually leaned into his art. So maybe the time off could break the sophomore jinx and have the same impact and success.

    People loooove to always put Nas in the blasphemy territory so that he is not listened to.
    But if they are giving him that energy...then please ensure to remove Gaga and Madonna from their playlists because those women dugggg innnnn.
    But oh well..... Nas has a good ear for music. The Montero project was chef's kiss. We rarely see black artists put in that much budget and creativity into visuals except Doja Cat, Beyonce Nicki and maybe Megan too, if she would minimize being nvde all the time on the videos.
    If he releases, I will listen.
    Just because he uses biblical imagery doesn't mean he is the devil incarnate.....it's just ......ART😅

    • @Loockiilu
      @Loockiilu 2 месяца назад +3

      Why target one religion and let people listen to it, watch him target eg. Islam and you will see the hate he will get but when he targets Christians people think that we are just overreating. It's art yes but that same art has a deeper meaning than what you may not know. Fro example same wary artists who paint or exhibit their masterpiece, there is always a meaning behind each piece. So for him to Blasphem Jesus also has a deeper meaning. Eg his shoe it's has a bible verse and satan like those 2 don't go together. So i understand if some people nolonger listen to his music. Cause i was also a fan ngl but after he attached my religion i was nolonger a fan. I don't hate him, i just wish he will come to a realisation that Christianity is not something to be played about, infact any religion shouldn't be played about cause that's when you touch home. Wish that he finds peace and continue on the right path

    • @kamekakarot
      @kamekakarot 2 месяца назад +6

      @@Loockiilu He was raised Christian, which makes it a part of his life, experience, psychology and identity to one degree or another. So it'd make no sense for him to explore themes of Islam in his art since that has nothing to do with him.

    • @Loockiilu
      @Loockiilu 2 месяца назад

      @kamekakarot Yes he was but if he knows better he should know not to blasphem Jesus, eg in one of his mv he was supposedly "Jesus" and he wore a choker that was written sex... like what are you trying to prove..... yes alot of people were raised christian but the thing is a person is not a christian unless they die of themselves and live a life full of righteousness, a life following Christ. So yes many people say that they are Christians but infact they are not instead they are wolves in sheeps clothing. So my point is if he is christian he should know not to play with the Lord and to not assocciate himself with evil things such as his scene where he was dancing for the devil like.... So i definetly wish that his eyes see the light so that he can change his ways cause i beleive he is lost similar to us cause no one is perfect and i believe he can still find his way to Jesus

    People are too used to artists dropping every 8-9 months. The music industry has mutated along with social media to have the general public believing artists need to be in their faces on a weekly basis, constantly sharing reminders of new projects and it's not productive. It has to be even worse when an artist blows up in the mainstream and they're expected to stay that hot. They need time to make something decent. Being out of the way for a bit doesn't equal a "fall off"

    I always thought his music was good throughout his career, but everything he did was always blown out of proportion. It didn’t matter if he released something with a message or meaning or purpose, people would just take it as face value rather than taking literally one second to take in what it means. ESPECIALLY with call me by your name.
    People condemned him to hell for being gay, so he went to hell, k*lled satan and made it a place for him. People just saw the pole, Satan suit, and crosses and called it evil or devil worship when it was clearly the opposite.
    The trolling he did online didn’t help his image and I hope he gives that part up. It was definitely free attention/press, but he’s given substantially less grace or good faith than actual problematic people in the industry so I think it’s time to tread lightly FOR NOW. Being featured on other peoples tracks and movie soundtracks has been a big step, but I’m ready for HIS music to drop

I just didnt care for the antics...reminded me of a male Lizzo in the fact they had a break out single, were "rap" artist and doing all this hoopla for the gram and social. The antics of his MV and just persona were a turn off for me(just being super flashy and wearing no clothes and what not, im a gay man and its just a lot; seems like attention seeking if you asked me) and then the music wasnt hitting either. This is just a side peeve of mine. Rap artist but have yet to hear him really spit any bars...and then just coming out with these pop hits. When he comes back, he really needs to try a new style or at least an evolved style with less trolling and gimmicks and more musical artistry. I never thought he was a great artist, but his big hits are all good songs. His next album is make or break for him in terms of whether he'll have a longer career.
