Hello from Australia. Tulum looks the same as when I as there exactly 20 yrs ago (yes 2001) but the accommodation options naturally were a lot more basic then. You could get a hut on the beach in the most basic of ‘resorts’ (for want of a better word) for US$5 (five) per night. Basic, but so, so relaxing. I have fond memories.

Hi Kim, enjoyed your Maui videos and now planning my next trip to Mexico. Question- for about a whole week, is that possible that I combine playa Carmen, each one day of akumal, Cozumel and tulum, isla mujeres? Lol want to do all in one trip… sounds a little greedy
Hi. Yes, you can do all of that in 1 week, but it's A LOT! You will spend a ton of your trip running logistics moving between locations. Maybe do Playa del Carmen as home base, then 1 day in Cozumel and 1 day in Akumal or Isla Mujeres. Thanks for watching, and please subscribe to the channel.
Try not to use the taxis as they are a rip off price. I also found that many restaurants are charging US prices plus 20 or 30% on top plus tip. I went to a Boston pizza last night and it was $49US for 1 large pizza. Tulum is very nice to visit but it is an expensive city for visitors.

It's very different than it was years ago, much busier. That being said, it's still a magical wonderful place.
