Listeners enjoy a song more when the singer is really engaged and committed. You are both, singing with meaning and clearly enjoying the process. Thank you. Looking forward to the UK tour!
@@cassidyrain1990 haha I literally just ran into you playing on that channel., but I wasn't sure it was you. Ill definitely stop by and give it some support. Thanks again!
One of my favorite songs and you did it justice! It's a great campfire ditty. I like how you changed the chorus arrangement slightly to make it more unique. You have a beautiful voice btw.

I am pretty sure Townes Van Zandt covered it in 1994 on his album of covers Roadsongs, but Mick Jagger & Keith Richards wrote it back in 1971. Van Zandt is a great songwriter though!
Lol umm... actually a great folk singer named Towns Van Zant wrote this song, the Rolling Stones just covered this song, a lot of bands have, he also wrote Poncho and Lefty
Townes covered Dead Flowers, Mick & Keith wrote this song for the Sticky Fingers album. I loved Townes Van Zandt and his cover of Dead Flowers but he didn’t write it. Townes wrote some great songs just not this one.
@@gmoore6166 Thanks for clarifying. I got into a debate a while back about this and I was arguing for the Stones being the original artist. But after the debate, I wasn't convinced anymore because the person I was arguing with is someone who knows the classics. As for Townes, did he originally write Pancho & Lefty? That's another song that enjoyed arguably a higher level of mainstream exposure after it was performed by another artist, in this case of course, being Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard. I think Townes mighta been the original artist for that one but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Good day to ya.
Beautiful version, Cassidy. Lovely singing.
Lovin this. Well done. I'm learning this myself at the moment. You have a great voice and take on the song
