This with the building of allies, allowed the US to maintain a superpower status and expand democratic principles to other countries. Dictators eventually fall. THE US gets hate for being involved and gets hate for not being involved. its not that they want to police the world, but without the US there is a large power vaccum... everyone knows which side the US stands on when it comes freedom, rights and democracy. but you can't say the same if they step back and let someone else take over.
