Golden age Griffith really reminds me of Napoleon. He was a man of humble origins, an amazing military leader, who saw great success, got high in the ranks, but then his dream came crashing down. Oh and my favorite part of Napoleon's story is when he used a red egg to sacrifice his soldiers to become a godly being.
The difference being that Napoleon actually cared for his country and countrymen while Griffith killed everyone dear to him so that he could achieve his dream
Lots of people seem to find this music mournful or sad, but i find it sounds hauntingly apathetic, like the cold empty stare of a man watching an atrocity without any emotion.

Yeah my biggest complaint with the new 2016 show is that it does not have the atmosphere from the OG Anime music is metal which I hate. I like the 2016 show from what I seen (one episode) but not as great as its predecessor.
Dipalok Mondal I like the CGI on the human and human like characters, I dont accept the music because honestly I dont think it fits Berserk. When it comes down to demons the animation is slow and models dont have that color shaded I like from the Human and Humanlike characters. BUT what I do love is that it does follow the manga well, the characters are what they are, and how well they made the whole setting a shitty place to be in. They tried a stylistic approach which honestly I prefer the horrific atmosphere more in the old anime but I dont think the stylistic approach is bad, its good on its own right. Its a mixed bag for me but I still like it.
NLasting The next chapter will be the part of the show when the teleportation device Rickert implanted in Griffith's face via Bitch/Slap goes off, bringing the fairy king Oberon and Guts entire party to Griffith's fancy-fucking garden, leading to the most disgusting and eye-appealing raping/flaying/eating/killing of a villain in the history of death, followed by Casca getting her memory back, the brands dissappearing, and a hot threesome with Lady Farnese on the chunky bits of Griffith that weren't eaten by Guts. All while set to the tune of the opening for the show.
This song has an evolution throughout the anime. At first you like it, it represent a new mysterious foe, rival for guts. That Will forge à Friendship. And once u enter the spoiler zone It only represents betrayal and rape...
+carlos daniel gallego cadena can't remember his name, it was the episode where Griffith asked Guts to kill that one general, and he ends up killing the general's son too

In a way it's true. Theoretically speaking though, I imagine if Griffith had never existed Adonis might have made a great king. He was a sensitive, gentle boy who's only source of warmth was commoners.
Everytime I hear this I just remember the scene where Guts and Griffith are fighting Zodd and Zodd sees the egg then starts laughing knowing what will come.
I watched the final episode at midnight time when everyone else was sleeping and i was alone in the dark. I actually could not sleep till like 4 in the morning. Asshole Griffith had my mind racing
The true horror of berserk isn't the atrocities and depravity of the world it takes place in, its revealing the insane lengths of depravity which real life is capable of
@@rubber_face8410 In my eyes, we as humans and the horrifying things we are capable of are not that far off from what those within the berserk universe are capable of. '' He so badly wanted to be a knight. I remember this boy well, when he looked at me his eyes filled with wonder, as though I were a hero. Was he happy? He died while pursuing his dream, but I think it was my dream that killed him. ''
I watched Berserk over like 4 nights after working 14 hour days under insane pressure. This music transports me back to that time, that place, and those feelings I had.
Relax, as long as you keep your head cool and make sure not to cause a situation where you absolutely *have* to sacrifice your fellows to escape, you'll be fine.
you dislike the prospect of becoming a demigod? knowledge of fate, incredible power and near-immortality for a body that's gonna decay in a mere century if you're lucky and relationships it maintained for a comparably infinitesimal span of time sounds like at least a persuasive deal to me. For an ambitious person who acceps the likelihood that pursuing power will ultimately get his loved ones killed at least.
I sometimes wake up from intense dreams and nightmares with a feeling of having been betrayed and the suddenly start taking action. This song describes that feeling.
I just love how otherworldly this track is. Hirasawa nailed capturing the supernatural vibe that lies beneath the surface in Golden Age arc and how Griffith encapsulates it in its entirety.
For me this is a masterpiece. This song legitimately makes me feel really strange, uncomfortable, a feeling of something greater but dark, very dark and malefic, this represents not only griffith dream but also his ruin to become Femto and one of the God hand members, truly a genius piece of music.
My ex-gf made me watch Berserk because it was her favorite thing ever and I remember we were all drunk and laughing at the tons of double entendres in the first few episodes (and the intro song). But the moment Griffith first shows up and THIS started to play was the moment I got hooked on Berserk.
Oh god that scene when Femto starts to rape casca and Gutts rage goes out and this ost was playing.....right then i knew this anime and manga is something that should never be forgotten and will stay in my heart until my last breath...Berserk is a masterpiece
It truly is and it's a shame that it's not well reconised, The music in this series was beautiful and the character delopment and the friendship between griffith and guts was remarcible and the ending for the golden age arc was so fucking heart rending.
TheImmortalBanana Always liked the way that in anime you didn't see Griffith as Femto until the end, that was my only problem with the manga just felt like it gave too much away too early on, I mean seeing Griffith become part of the god hand in the anime had to be one of the most shocking scenes/change of personality ever
HYDRA THRASH You do have a great point there, but yes i do agree, seeing griffith turn from a reliable ally to a monster bent on the torture of guts, i too feel the mangas debut could have had the introduction better.
Kentaro Miura,a legendary mangaka, has passed away on May 6th. From the perspective of a fan,I’m absolutely devastated. Berserk was,and still is,my favourite piece of fiction ever. Miura was a legend in the world of manga and anime, and i will never forget how his work got me out of such a tough time and taught me how to think about other people. RIP Miura.
i feel like this tune represents both guts and grifith and show how vastly different they are in their own world.... the beats being ever curious, searching and fickle in nature like grifith while the flute representing consistence, flow and nature of a content yet purposeful man like guts until the eclipse .......they both if heard separately does not ignites any emotion at all but when listened together creates something so emotional .. its like listening to each and every emotion of a man.
This song played in my head as i heard the news of sensei Kintaro passing away. Rest in peace struggler, you may be gone but your work will live until the end of man. A reminder that good things never really last...
I find this music absolutely sad and depressing in a wonderful way. It’s like you are getting skeptic about your own life choices, the question is always why.
Behelit is often a song associated with Griffith, especially his betrayal. Behelit or more accurately be Beherit is Syriac for Satan. Griffith himself resembles the biblical Satan, who is described as a beautiful angel and master deceiver.
You’re thinking of the extra-Biblical versions of Satan. I don’t think he gets much physical description in the New Testament and in the Old Testament he’s basically another character altogether, not a cosmic force of evil but a misanthropic servant of God who tests humanity to prove their unworthiness. I think it’s more in the Middle Ages that we got this image of Satan as androgynous, traitorous, etc. (Also, the whole Guts/Griffith dynamic is directly lifted from Akira/Ryo in Devilman… so the Satan imagery makes sense.)
in spring of 2018, my closest friend hung himself, then in September that year my other closest friend drowned, and my girl went with another guy. I watched Berserk 1997 for the first time at the end of 2018 in a freezing cold tent in the woods. Every time I hear Behelit, I am reminded of my friend who hung himself, my chest deeply aches to be able to hug him again, but I'll never be able to
It sounds like deep loneliness, sorrow, pain, unforgiven so whatever, it makes me want to cry when hearing this lol P.S Berserk is a living master piece ever
+ribat turan I feel it too. It's like you have a perception of the tragedy that is coming, but you don't know how... and the characters you're living with don't know too. It's very tragic, just like destiny in Berserk.
My day everyday... Everyone is an actor following a weird script and act as if they don't know what I'm talking about... It's all in my head- no one out to murder me... Unless.
*UBIK:* How foolish... a mere human has no chance against one who has transcended mortality! _(suddenly gasps as Guts begins to move his sword towards Femto's eye)_
This was my first Berserk music ever. It was around 2020 when i got interested into Berserk (Thanks to dark souls) and i fall in love with it. Thank you Kentaro Miura for making the best manga ever!
Idk how to describe this song very well, the feelings it gives me are very strange, like something ancient, beatiful, dreadful, unobtainable and even nostalgic. Like the times of where berserk is set.
Berserk taught me that friendship is a lie and counts only when fulfilling purpose. Griffith saw Guts fight, so he knew how valuable Guts was to Band of the Hawks. When Grifftith was almost at his destination, he betrayed his troupe in conversation with the princess when he said he saw no one as a friend, as they only followed him and fought for his dreams. Guts grew up with that knowledge, so he was the only one who had the strength to break away from Griffith. For me one of the most tragic and truest moments.
But that's not true though, Griffith sincerely appreciated Guts and considered him as a friend from the beginning. The part where he tells the princess that he has no equals therefore no friends was just him trying to win her over because it would be beneficial to him.Guts has always been an anomaly in Griffith's life, he was the only one who made him forget his dream and in doing so robbed him of an essential part of his character. That's what led him to do what he did.
@@MegaSolidgamer No he wasn't evil all along. he had an unhealthy obsession with guts, and when guts decided to leave the band of the hawk it affected griffith deeply so he acted irrationally and made him lose all that he has worked for. Of course he would be blameful of guts even though it really isn't gut's fault. So when shit hit the fan and griffith was at the lowest of the low comes the eclipse. . .
Do you know that feeling you got as a kid going into a museum and learning of long forgotten lives of those before you? The feeling of curiosity and slight unsettlement that came over you? This track emulates that very well.
Idk how to describe the song.. It just fits everything in Berserk. It's so surreal and mysterious, haunting, yet beautiful at the same time.

2016 Berserk is trash just accept the hard truth
Dipalok Mondal I dont think its bad per say. Also dont be like accept the hard truth onto me, that to me spells fanboy and not in a good way.
crappy CGI in 2016 is unacceptable

Reminder that Rickert slaps the fuck out of Griffith.
NLasting I know.
My boner still hasn't gone away.
Jonathan Harvey Hopefully it doesn't go away for 2 more years when the next chapter is released. GODDAMN IT.

Here’s hoping that FromSoftware makes a Berserk game in the future and this should be an opening theme song.

This song has an evolution throughout the anime. At first you like it, it represent a new mysterious foe, rival for guts. That Will forge à Friendship.
And once u enter the spoiler zone
It only represents betrayal and rape...

My favorite was when Guts had to kill that kid because he became a witness, what a holy shit moment.
True heartbreaking moment...
that broke my heart, i knew he didnt want too but he knew he had too
you guys say SPOILERS but shit was literally made 20 years ago xD
Magzhan Tashibay dude I watched it last month If I saw this that would be really annoying and this anime deserves more support its f dope
Just finished watching the part where guts assassinates that guy. Holy shit, this anime is so fucking surreal.
who?
+carlos daniel gallego cadena can't remember his name, it was the episode where Griffith asked Guts to kill that one general, and he ends up killing the general's son too
+Dr. Pheel oh, i think it was Julius, and his son is... Adonis, poor boy xD
The anime is really good, but they skipped some thinks, when you finish the anime, i recommend you to go read the manga, is worth it :)
And to think that they were actually lucky dying before Hell came to the world.
In a way it's true. Theoretically speaking though, I imagine if Griffith had never existed Adonis might have made a great king. He was a sensitive, gentle boy who's only source of warmth was commoners.
This is an incredibly beautiful piece of music. It describes the feel of the story perfectly

Could you explain a bit? I am very interested to hear more.
@@rubber_face8410 In my eyes, we as humans and the horrifying things we are capable of are not that far off from what those within the berserk universe are capable of. Thereby the things that happen in berserk very well might happen were we to live in a world with the same possibilities for atrocity on a truly cosmic scale.

I just love how otherworldly this track is. Hirasawa nailed capturing the supernatural vibe that lies beneath the surface in Golden Age arc and how Griffith encapsulates it in its entirety.

0:23 that turn on the flute or whatever you might call it, is the part that gives me chills. Is the part that defines the creepy aspect on the song.
Same brother
For me this is a masterpiece. This song legitimately makes me feel really strange, uncomfortable, a feeling of something greater but dark, very dark and malefic, this represents not only griffith dream but also his ruin to become Femto and one of the God hand members, truly a genius piece of music.
the person who made this song has to be insane, i can feel the insanity. such an Erie vibe
My ex-gf made me watch Berserk because it was her favorite thing ever and I remember we were all drunk and laughing at the tons of double entendres in the first few episodes (and the intro song). But the moment Griffith first shows up and THIS started to play was the moment I got hooked on Berserk.
Nice
Now read the manga which is 100 times better.
***** I didn't ask for any of this...
***** Man, I knew that ending was coming and it still rocked me to my core. Spoilers have no power here.
RIP Miura.
MAY 6TH IS MY SISTER’S BIRTHDAY 😢
i feel like this tune represents both guts and grifith and show how vastly different they are in their own world.... the beats being ever curious, searching and fickle in nature like grifith while the flute representing consistence, flow and nature of a content yet purposeful man like guts until the eclipse .......they both if heard separately does not ignites any emotion at all but when listened together creates something so emotional .. its like listening to each and every emotion of a man.
Can’t ever hear this without hearing Guts screaming “GRIFFIIIIIITH!!!”
Listening to this during the eclipse 🔥🔥🔥🔥

A reminder that good things never really last...
I find this music absolutely sad and depressing in a wonderful way. It’s like you are getting skeptic about your own life choices, the question is always why.
Me and the boys at April 8, 2024:
I'd say Griffith is more of an anti-christ, considering the role he has after conviction.
This one the meme lords have not gotten their dirty hands on. I hope it stays that way.
I sure hope so
I would sacrifice anything to get Miura back, rest in peace legend
I can sympathize, but that would be going against exactly what Miura was trying to tell through the story of berserk

To me, this sounds like a man finding something lost within him. Like stumbling upon ancient ruins in forest time forgot.
in spring of 2018, my closest friend hung himself, then in September that year my other closest friend drowned, and my girl went with another guy. I watched Berserk 1997 for the first time at the end of 2018 in a freezing cold tent in the woods. Every time I hear Behelit, I am reminded of my friend who hung himself, my chest deeply aches to be able to hug him again, but I'll never be able to
Stay strong brother, you’ll get in better position in life, just hang on.
the 97 anime has such an amazing soundtrack that captures Berserk's atmosphere so well the soundtrack is my favorite part of the 97 anime.

Inkompatibel True on all levels.
@@azathothchaosunbound2847 wtf man I had never thought of that in this way
So Griffith you believe was not evil all along ?
@@MegaSolidgamer nah mate he wasn't
