The old adage, "It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow". I think it's a great move. You can use more of the power which can add to the experience.

High revving fun and not instantly doing felony speeds 😂. @@KirkKreifels I chose Moore because he does remote tuning. I wasn't crazy about taking the ECU out and then having it potentially get lost in the mail. He can tune the bike in real time via a log box. Wasn't the cheapest option but im happy i did it that way. I was on the fence about flashing but it was definitely worth doing. One thing you have to get used to is dropping a gear lower than normal if you want to launch. In a turn you might take at 30mph or so, you have to be in 1st if you want to be in the power band. Loads of fun riding that way.

The ZX-6R doesn't offer downshifting via quick-shifer because it's still using throttle by cable opposed to the electronic throttle by wire of the ZX-4RR; no way for the ZX-6R's ECU to blip the throttle for downshifts since it has no direct interface with it. It can still do quick-shift up since the ECU can cut the ignition during the upshift.

There is so much choice now, one has to get what fits you, what works for your lifestyle and what gets you excited. I am in the fortunate position where I can add a bike to my large garage space every year. Since my divorce in 2022 I wanted to get back to doing things that I enjoyed as a kid. At 48 years old I had not been on bikes for over 20 years. I am a stocky 5ft 9 180 lb who loves working out. I got hold of a MT-07 to test for a week, it punchy but I hated the handling, it was not good enough so I understand you experiance with the MT-09. I was working in London at the time so picked up a cheap and easy to commute on 2018 Ninja 400 KRT to return to riding on. What a great little machine, especially on narrow slippery UK roads. Did a 2000 mile tour of Scotland on it, so capable.
Then early 2023 I moved over to the States and picked up a 2022 60th Anniversary Edition R7. Another twin, but where the 400 was easy going fun, the Yamaha is like sculple.. and it begs to be pushed hard and is crazy good in the mountain twisties. It is an extremely capable bike without being too crazy and super confidence inspiring. I live near the Appalachians so its perfect for a day out mountain carving.
For spring 2024 I bought a rebuilt 2008 Triumph Tiger 1050 and used it ride 6500miles along the i40 and route 66 from the East Coast North Carolina to West Coast California and back. It cemented the idea that a Triumph Triple should always have a spot in my garage.
So tor 2025, in the USA I have a Yamaha twin, I have a a Triumph Triple.... So I figure I will add a Kawasaki Four pot next. Right now the choice is between the Zxr-4rr and Z900 RS. I think a 40th Anniversary Zxr-4rr will make a great alternative toy to the grunty 60th Anniversary R7 and they will look great next to each other in my garage.

That's the problem with the CBR650R.
Honda were the first to civilize the inline 4 engine, they could see the writing on the wall, but it was too little too late.
The parallel twins took over and the CBR ain't making any sense.
During daily riding it's plain boring, it's engine is nothing special, the R7 walks all over it, providing oooomph any time, anywhere, and with a nice soundtrack to match and the looks too.
But if you rev it it is sensational, except you're doing 120 mph before you know it, not really a safe and acceptable way of having fun and enjoying the beauty that the engine is.
    Too much ccs still.
The zx4rr downsizes the inline 4 making it now useable, meaning you can enjoy it without going crazy.
    It almost makes sense.
Let's appreciate having all these different options available to us.
Still gonna go with the 2025 R3, you give me power and I don't trust myself holding back 24/7, even at 50.
Life experience didn't calm me down, it did teach me to be smart by being preemptive over wishful thinking I can discipline myself.
    Ride safe.

This bike looks super cool, and fun to ride, but I just can't justify paying over 10k for a 400cc bike. I have a gen 3 mt09, and absolutely love it. In my opinion, it's the best street bike. Enough power to really have fun with, but not too much to where I can't use most of it on the street. I love the cp3 engine, it sounds amazing and has a fuck ton of torque.

ZX4RR is such an awesome bike. I am a total simp for the inline 4 scream and you can rev the t*** out of it without loosing your license. I had a blast test riding it, but I am so sad that it doesn´t have cruise control... My neck is too messed up to be able to ride it longer than an hour without a lot of pain.

I had the honor of riding all 4 of the 2024 anniversary models. My current bike is a modded 140 rwhp K7 GSXR750. All the other manufacturers stopped making sport 750's because Suzuki dominated that class and then some. The fun factor is always #1 when choosing a motorcycle. The 500 comes in the cheapest at $6500. It was actually decent compared to the older 500 twins and if you are a beginner definitely a nice package for the price. The 400 is really nice to look at but very underwhelming with the hp restrictions. When compared to the 636 you are going to spend more to mod it to be what the other countries get stock. You are better off buying the 636. The 636 in my opinion won out of the 4, best bang for the buck, very fun and usable. The 1000 model.......damn, very, very nice bike. At that price point you can get a low mileage used V4 Panigale which has about 10 more very's in my very nice description of the 10r. After my shopping I think I will buy my buddy's flawless 2006 R1 50th anniversary for $8k with 5k miles. That bike comes with Ohlins fully adjustable suspension and Marchesini wheels out of the factory. There is very fine line between bang for the buck and the fun factor. Shop well my brothers. If Suzuki offered an inline 4 GSXR400r I am sure it would be on my radar but after riding the USA zx4rr anniversary it is not cost effective making it a money pit. That takes the fun factor out for me.

    • @gatticusfpv3174
      @gatticusfpv3174 Месяц назад

@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 100k on the odometer is very high for a bike even a Japanese one. CFmoto has only been making sport bikes since 2023. So you might be thinking of those Chinese bike in a box things which yeah those are total crap at best, death traps at worst. But CFmoto has been making quality ATVs and side by sides for like a decade or more. They are partnered with KTM and I believe recently Kawasaki and Yamaha as well to make engines and parts for them. The new Aprillia rs457 is made entirely in India. So if you have a problem with a brand just because it's made in China I hate to break it to you but there aren't many supply chains left that aren't totally dependent on china. So the same would also apply to the big 4. Companies don't have things manufactured in China just because they are cheap but also they have the infrastructure and expertise to provide a good service. I love Italian bikes as much as the next guy but let's not pretend it's only China that has occasional quality control issues.

hi hello,. I see that you exchanged the 09 for the zx 4, and if you like this one better, that's fine,.. but the 09 also has much better things, and I'm not even talking about power or torque, because that would be unfair, and incomparable,.. but for example the qquickshifter from the 09, the sound when changing gears in my opinion is better, more pleasurable,.more racing,.logical with a good exhaust, well chosen,..in short I could say many more differences,..but I I also understand your side,..you wanted something that catches your eye,. in that case ,. And since you like this sporty style too, right,..but it's tiring,..but beautiful,..I'd go for the 636 ninja,..it's well worth the difference compared to the 400,. because they have good torque for a 600. There are a lot more shots and recoveries. In fact, it even beats the 09 easily, now it also depends on where you go,.. I had the 07 and I think it's the best and most fun for certain more urban routes,..but you should use what you like and what makes you feel good!
