    I find it interesting that you're talking about blocking red light and allowing green light. All the migraine glasses I've seen block blue and green (since they're right next to each other on the spectrum). The ones that I bought block 80% of all blue and green, and mostly only allow red/orange. I find them super helpful. Blue light DEFINITELY triggers me when I'm tired, but I can actually still do work on my computer with my glasses even though everything looks red. I'm using Block Blue Light glasses and just tried Theraspecs, which both block blue and green, not red.

      I don't find red light bothers my migraines hardly at all, but I'd say green still does.

      Awesome! We're actually about to test some Block Blue Light glasses so we can add them to our database, so that's great that you find they help! Classic migraine glasses which use the FL-41 lenses (the rose tinted ones like you're mentioning) were created to decrease photophobia and help with migraines, but there is new science showing how exposure to green light of a certain frequency can have a more healing effect and reduce the frequency/intensity of migraines over time. So that's where the importance of keeping the green light comes into play. I have an article on our website if you want to check it out more :) optimizeyourbiology.com/green-light-for-migraines-the-science

    Awesome video Malissa! I love the in-depth breakdown of the science behind migraine glasses. I had no idea these were even a thing, but I may get a pair for my mom because she's been having some bad ones lately. Thanks to your review I know where to start looking!

    Thank you for the video. GloFX has other colors as well like indigo and red. Are they as effective as the green?

    • @optimizeyourbiology
      @optimizeyourbiology  2 месяца назад

      In terms of migraines, I would say no.
      The green would be the most effective in that realm because of the studies done on the benefits of green light exposure. With red or indigo tints, you're not getting any of the green light coming through that helps produce the pain relieving effects.

      Hello! Technically speaking, it's not wrong but it's most likely in reference to older studies done on the FL-41 lenses, like the Theraspecs, which have a more rose tinted color. Green light therapy is a newer science and is proving to be even more beneficial than the rose tints. You can check out my science article at optimizeyourbiology.com/green-light-for-migraines-the-science if you want to dive deeper into the latest in migraine science. :)

      Uh oh! Not sure why the chapters aren't showing... The ones I go over are the MigraLens, Avulux, GloFX, and Theraspecs. I recommend the Avulux for everyday use and the MigraLens if you're looking to find photophobia relief during a migraine. Hey there! I’m actually not very familiar with those it looks like Therspecs has new options since we last tested them.
      My gut says to go with the Pro, but we’ll have to buy these and test them to be sure 😁

    Theres no point in glasses just when a migraine comes, useless. People need protection from supermarket and other tube lighting

    • @optimizeyourbiology
      @optimizeyourbiology  7 месяцев назад

      True, the glasses work as a preventative measure if you wear them consistently. The Avulux especially are designed to be worn daily to filter out those harsher wavelengths, like you'd find in supermarkets, while also not green-washing your world.
      But for me, personally, I don't suffer from chronic migraines so only at the onset of one do I put on my MigraLens glasses so the photophobia is reduced and I am able to get that relief from the intense green overlay. That's why I indicated they might be helpful when the migraine comes and not just preventatively.
      But they are absolutely best used as a daily preventative measure like you said.
