I lost my oldest son 24 years ago, Oh how I wish this song was around then! when he was 7 or 8 years old we went to the village for my mom, the church she went to " faithfully I might add " was on our road often my son would go to Church with her. Well on that day we went by the church and my Son says " mom can we stop so I can talk to Grammies pastor I don't want to go to hell " being raise a Baptist, I turned the Car around and went to the Church Pastor was there. He gladly took Steven inside and talked , they came out about 30 mins later and Steven says to me I am going to heaven with Grammy little did we know we lost Steven at the young age of 12. I have watch this video so many times I know all the word.. It has completely changed me... for years I felt guilty for trying to move on without Steven, missed half a life time waiting.. Waiting for Steven to come back... I know where he is , I know he is happy, I now know I can move on! God bless ......

What a fitting tribute and ending to a legacy with Chris. That ending with Chris walking into the sunset, that is what got the tears flowing. Beautifully done. So happy to be following him on to his solo career and staying with Home Free as your career flourishes for a long time to come. I am not a big youtuber I will watch the occasional video when one of my kids ask me to or if a friend suggests something. Yesterday I saw a post on facebook of your cover of Lee Greenwood's, "God Bless the USA" and I was amazed! I have loved that song since the first I heard it and you all made me love it a little more. I then went in search of more and what I found amazed me still, I have watched hours worth of video and each one of you are so amazingly talented. Chris you have a beautiful voice and are a wonderful man for bringing this group together. I am saddened to learn you have left just as I am finding Home Free. Rob you are awesome, your voice is so sweet and easy there are songs I can imagine you singing as I listen. Austin you sir are a wonderful singer and great fun to watch perform. Adam you, you are just amazing and I am not sure that, that is descriptive enough for the talent you bring, it amazes me when I am listening and am thinking there is some one playing the drums some where and then i remember that it is you and there are no drums. Last but not least Tim, your vocal range is astounding, and if you have never been told (which I am sure you have) when you sing in that deep bass you can melt a girl on the spot, but it is not just your voice, in watching the video's I have also come to enjoy your banter, wit, and your heart. Your farewell to Chris was so touching, even I who have only just started watching was tearing up. Thank you all for being so amazing and sharing your talents with the world and I hope to continue to be able to hear more from all of you.

I know this song has been around for years, but I feel the need to share. I am 48 years old, and most of my family has moved on to their heavenly home, and I like to think I deal with the loss pretty well. But my Dad called me today and told me that my Memaw had passed on. It really took its toll on me, because from age 5-16 I spent every single summer at her house, and she had such an influence on my life. To say I was having a hard time dealing with it would be an understatement. But then I remembered this song, and I played it on repeat for a bit, and I will say this much, it did help me so much. I know this is not necessarily what this song was about, but I wanted you to know how much it helped.

I sat with him in his room for the last week and played this for him more than once. Each time I told him that it was okay. I knew where he was going and that I would be alright. In the end there was only peace and love, and now he's free from his battles.

Classy, elegant, and as per usual, amazing. I love Chance's voice and look forward to seeing what amazing things you guys have moving forward in the future. Chris, you are an extraordinarily gifted gentleman and I can't wait to see what you do now that you're out on your own. Been enjoying you guys for a couple years now and look forward to many more! If you guys are free Labor Day weekend, I'm getting married and my "soon to be wife" and I have been enjoying the hell out of your music. Pop on over to Virginia and see us! Or come on out to Los Angeles where we live any time, beers on us! :D

A perfect way to end the journey for Chris as he , dare I say it, "moves on" to his solo career. I love how you guys used Adam as a backup for Chris, letting us hear a bit of his voice more clear. Could this possibly be a foreshadowing to hear Adam in a singing solo bit? I'm sure many would love that. Chris, you're loved buddy, and, as I've said before, looking forward to hearing your solo tracks. Just don't be a stranger. I would love to see some Home Free tracks featuring you down the road. And with that, one chapter closes as we celebrate your memories as Home Free founder, and another one opens for Adam Chance. Hope to see you guys in Abilene, TX some time, since I missed the past times.

It's always a good thing to follow ones dreams. Anyone can think of things they would like to do with their lives, but it is only when we take the chance of actually putting our dreams into action that they come true. In order to achieve that, it often requires many sacrifices and it ALWAYS requires a great deal of steadfastness. Giving up on our dreams is the easier road to take. But taking the road with all the obstacles in our way to REACH our dreams is something of great inner strength. While Chris Rupp will be missed within the tight circle of Home Free, he will only be as far away as a heart beat. I personally, wish Chris the very best of what life has to offer, as I do for his friends known to all of us as Home Free.

I came across the video a "farewell to Chris" and cried all over again and this came on directly after... how poetic. Such a beautiful song, love all your new songs with Tristin, your solo songs... you should be very proud of what you are accomplishing and I wish you nothing but continued success.... Home Free... you have my heart too. You boys have squiggled your way into my life and I hope I live many more years to see you grow and succeed even further.. I hope my kids and grands will be watching you when they are my age, like I'm still love the Oak Ridge Boys, Kenny Rogers, Alabama... Wishing you ALL all the best this life has to offer... looking forward to finally getting to meet you in Dec!!!

+Criticalseize 98 Its however you'd like to interpret it! This was written before his solo career was even a gem of an idea yet, but there can be a lot of different meanings to the song. the beauty of music!

One thousand and one meanings. Music is less about the artist as it is about the person hearing it and interpreting it as it captures a moment in time, and can even evolve to take on new meanings as life unfolds.

I love this song. It's so beautiful and emotional, and soothing. I started listening to guy last year, The first time I seen/listened to this and the original version, and really paid attention to the lyrics and the meaning of the song, it made me tear up both times cause I started thinking of my parents that passed away from cancer (my mom) 6 years and (my dad) 4 1/2 years ago. So now when I listen to this it makes me think of them.
