COLLEGE MOVE IN 2020 | YALE FRESHMAN YEAR (Australian student!!)

- some context for new people/anyone who hasn't been following my yale journey: obviously move in was different this year compared to normal years. BUT due to being an international student and this whole situation going on at the moment, I couldn't get a visa in time to arrive on campus for the start of semester. so I arrived about 6 weeks after everyone else!! so this wasn't what move-in day at yale looked like this year. in this vlog, everyone else had moved in 6 weeks ago so I was the only one arriving. I was taken straight to the room after my on-arrival test, and then had to isolate in my dorm room for 5 days until I got 2 negative test results back. lmk if you have any questions in the comments!!
this vlog was not very exciting (sorry!) but my upcoming videos, especially the ones where I am out and about, are so much more exciting!! you'll get to explore the campus and meet new people with me, so look forward to lots of fun vlogs coming up in the next few weeks xx

Those are laundry loops!! You put your dirty practice clothes on them, put them in a bin (at my school it’s in our locker room) and the athletic’s department takes them, washes them, and drops them back off for you at your locker. So basically free laundry for all your athletic gear!!😃

lol as someone who grew up in new haven i always find it funny watching people who arent from there move to yale cuz the rest of new haven is a hot mess lmao - also I recommend Atticus which is a coffee shop across from the yale art gallery, the York Street Noodle House which do amazing food, Barcelona which do tapas and is good for an evening out, and Bar Pizza which do great pizza and beer and have one that is mashed potato bacon pizza which sounds gross but is actually really good lol

Im not her😂 but you can reach out to yale and see if you can still be accepted/apply if you do have ACT/SAT scores from pre covid. Im not going ti yale, but mine did a no scores application. You didnt have to have them, but if you do its better. Im not sure how yale would handle that however

Please don’t take this the wrong way but I think you may need to branch out with your foods and realise that some of your “dislikes” are actually “aversions”. Food will be very different in the US, and as all sports dietitians say, any food is better than no food. Processed foods, chips, cereal etc are not bad for you in moderation. I think some of the “sick” feeling is a “fear” of “unhealthy” foods. I’m not necessarily saying you have an ED but possibly disordered eating?
hey!! I appreciate the good intentions behind your comment but this is not the case for me. My intolerances to these foods are genuine and I’ve had most of them since I was very young. They are intolerances, not “dislikes” and definitely not “aversions”. I don’t have a fear of these foods - I would be more than happy to eat any processed foods, chips, cereals, etc in moderation if I didn’t end up really sick whenever I eat them. The “sick feeling” isn’t just a feeling - I don’t want to go TMI on the internet but it’s an intolerance/almost allergic reaction - I’m in a great deal of physical discomfort and basically I’m on the toilet for hours!!! I don’t really need to justify this, but I am not experiencing disordered eating. My normal diet consists of a massive variety of foods - both healthy and ‘unhealthy’ - I just don’t eat the ones I’m intolerant to.
