Love my Racer jacket. I am 5'7" and weigh 155lbs. My chest is 40" and my waist is 30". The athletic medium fits like it was custom made. If you have a bit of a belly, I would recommend going with the regular fit.
Thanks for this review! Recently got this jacket and was confused about the material, so I wrote Thursday and they said "The Tobacco Racer Jacket is made with Lamb Suede. This is a high-quality form of leather, made from the underside of the lamb hide. The grain is very fine so the leather feels soft." They also recommended keeping it away from water. In contrast, they said the black matte version is not suede, it's made from "sioux calf leather" which is "full grain rugged leather" and is water resistant. Seems a bit odd to me that they wouldn't just state this on the website and also that they are priced the same?
Actually, I think the pricing makes sense. On the one hand, suede is cheaper than 'full grain', but lambskin is more expensive than calfskin. Also, I stuck with the tobacco racer and it's terrific!
For anyone wondering because I went through this, I am a SMALL dude. Im 5'6" 115 pounds soaking wet, so obviously its hard to find clothes that look tailor made. I went with the smallest size possible, a small slim. I got the jacket and immediately knew right out the box it was going to look great. It fit very nicely. Unfortunately The one i had came with a severe scuff on the sleeve. I had to send it back but the exchange process was seamless and fast. BUT the jacket looked so dang good and smelled so good i contemplated keeping it because i didnt want to part with it lol. After realizing that this thing wasnt cheap i bit the bullet and sent it back because obviously we all wnat what we paid for. But im just saying, its the first time i was ever this excited over a clothing item.
Wish I could help with a clear answer but I think your best bet is to email them for specific measurement on the XXL. Sorry I can’t help but I’d hate to guess and steer you wrong!
The sizing information on the website is substandard and not fitting of a serious leather jacket company. we need shoulder width, waist size, hem length, sleeve length etc etc especially since they differ between fits
I have some of leather jackets from Superdry, Diesel, Topman and Allsaints, I would like to try Thursday black leather jacket matte one with black matte Captain boot if I could afford it . I may save some money for my birthday.
The main thing I don’t like about their jacket is the strip of fabric behind the zipper. I guess it’s called the zipper guard. I just think jackets look cleaner without the zipper guard. If I ever buy the Taupe one, which I probably will, I will see if I can cut out the guard piece.
Unfortunately you can’t wash it in a washing machine. At most I would spot clean with a suede/nubuck cleaner but only as a last resort if it’s a really bad noticeable stain. Best bet would be to take it in and ask a professional cleaner, sorry I don’t want to steer you wrong on this!
Man, I wish I could get measurements of this jacket but in size small. Has this jacket held up well so far? Can it be used at all in winter? and dare I say the forbidden weather: rain? I'm looking for a jacket kind of like young Han solo has in han solo: a star wars story and it seems like his is a modified racer jacket with the black patches and it's been hard af to find leather that actually matches what he wears. I think this one is as close as I'm gonna get 😏 it looks like suede like his, but not quite (and that's Good I don't rly like suede)
Sorry I wish I could help with the small size measurements! It’s holding up incredibly well and is fine in the rain but just need to let it air dry for awhile after. I’m still loving it!
I hope I can help. I went to there store recently. I'm 5'6 or 5'7 around 168 so a little over weight. I'm not fat nor muscular I'm average build with a little stomach. I got the M athletic. It fits perfect. I tried a M slim and I couldn't get it anywhere near zippering. I tried the biker jacket in a M relaxed (for comparison bc they didn't have that size in the racer) and it was big on me. So If you're really skinny I'd say get the slim. If your average weight for your height get athletic. If your on the bigger side great relaxed. If you know you're a small for sure.

@calgo6254 I believe the athletic is made for more like "jacked" guys. Also the leather will probably stretch in time. My arms have a lot of room also. So I feel like you should be good arm wise.

It’s lambskin, not suede, but feels a lot like nubuck. It’s got a very soft, matte hand feel and looks great in person. Hope that helps, I’m very happy with it!

Unfortunately the update is that I put on some weight and it no longer fit so I sold it, but now my weight is coming back down and I’m seriously regretting selling it

But the athletic fit perfectly. Also I bought the matte black racer. So if you're more flat stomached and taller I'd say slim. If you're kinda average I'd say athletic
