- Life Begins at Forty series 1 episode 2 Yorkshire TV 1978 uploaded as a tribute to Rosemary Leach who sadly died on the 21st October 2017. TX 20/6/78
I remember this being shown for the first time. And I recall 40 being a big number. Haha, I'm almost 60 so now 40 is very young to me. Thanks for uploading.
Same for me but back then in the U.K. 40 was really halfway through if you were lucky, now we live longer, I’m 58 now and back then to me that was near the end!
@suisui Don't worry, I've been feeling old since my 30s and I'm 57 now!
I would have been just eight back then and at junior school, not turning 40 until 2010. That makes me almost 53 now!
Thank you for uploading 💖

That's ok, glad you enjoyed.
Remember them filming up at my local park must have only been 13yrs old
this is a good little gem i love sitcoms like this with two great cast members as well thank you for sharing
Thanks, it is a good sitcom, just hope it comes out on DVD one day.
80s sitcoms ❤😅😊😂
I always had a memory of this show. Also I remembered it’s theme tune.Still today I have no idea why I remembered this show or it’s theme tune.Post traumatic stress probably...
Ok it’s doesn’t mean any harm.In fact it didn’t mean anything especially sharp comedy. In all it’s good to see it again...Though I still don’t know why.!
Please upload the entire series for audience to watch. Thankyou.
used to be on when i came home from school,40 was ancient
Audiences then still thought of it as live theatre. It didn't take much to get them cackling.
Derek Nimmo was actually a Scouser, yet always played posh Englishmen.
A good comedy. Reminds me of Fresh Fields. Entertaining.
Love Fresh Fields
80s sitcoms 😂😅😊
I believe the writer,, Jan Butlin, was married to Martin King - an announcer with Southern Television and then BBC Television. As for Keith Martin - that's another story:)!
I had a baby at 41 wished my husband had done the house work
I was 44 when I had my last baby...
I never heard did could she posh voice he is good at to very talented man ❤❤😂😂
Watched this at the time..thought it insipid twaddle then and I still do
Not everyone cracked a rib at the sight of Ricky Gervais doing a stupid dance in 'The Office'.
@@ysthafellgynghori8423 So it's either vapid BBC sit coms or Ricky Gervais? How blinkered are you!
80s sitcoms 1980-1989 🎉
Life might begin at 40 but laughter certainly doesn't
Blast from the past
I would have been just eight and at junior school then, not forty. That would wait until 2010. Rev Mervyn Noote must have either been defrocked or before he took Holy Orders!
I’ve always thought Derek Nimmo was wonderful.
Me too.
I know he was in a series on BBC1 called Hell's Bells in 1986 where he was a vicar at the time too. It was produced then in BBC Manchester by Mike Stephens too. I think it also starred Robert Stephens, who used to be married to Dame Maggie Smith too. However, it only ran for one series, and oddly I don't think it was ever repeated though. I remember reading of it in the Radio Times then at the time as well. It was on a Monday night in June and July that year at 8.30-9.00pm too. Thank you!
OH KATIES MOM actress played fresh fields mom too Anton Rogers mother in law ... she got about a bit lol
They borrowed his pinny from Man about the House! 😂
Is it pronounced nimmo or nemo?
It's pronounced nimmo.
He could be related to Noel Gallagher.
so were are the rest?
Life does at 40 with a bomb💆🏻♂️
A bit much 2b doing housework in dress-slacks and tie...😶....the comedy is a bit "Forced" as well.
I don't remember this.
Reminds me of Harry Enfield's Old Gits ruclips.net/video/3_aP2txqJoU/видео.html
Mr BENN!
Rosemary Leach and Fanny Rowe were always good. Derek Nimmo, on the other hand, is totally miscast here.
7:33 😅
40 . Looks 65
This is the crap we had to put up with years ago.
Yes, - and look at all the Crap we have to put up with now ...
Then don’t watch it
The ONLY thing that would make this even remotely funny is VERY high doses of THC.....
Try 'The Mighty Boosh' instead. Oh no you can't because Netflix have just yanked off the air following complaints about the racist content.
@@ysthafellgynghori8423 oh here you are again. You're becoming as predictable as these awful 'comedies'
This is from the tiresome school of comedy that believes that middle class middle aged people are automatically funny
