What if it goes more like this, connecting all of the stories? First, Dr. Fuji loses his daughter. He works to create a clone, and ends up having Giovanni making the deal you described in the video. Mewtwo has been created, and destroys the lab. There are two survivors, Blaine and Dr. Fuji. While there were no major injuries, their hair was burnt off(because wynaut). After Mewtwo leaves, the two of them escape and make it back to Cinnabar. Blaine stays there, however Dr. Fuji realizes that his daughter cannot be brought back and the pursuit of doing so will only ruin his life, as it had already taken away his wife. He goes to Lavender Town and changes his name to Mr. Fuji, and as he has no other person to connect to, he begins to find love in Pokemon. Mr. Fuji starts doing his best to help Pokemon and such, as he had already found such a connection to them over the years. The End. P.S. His hair never grows back. Don't question it just accept it. P.S.S RIP Fuji hair
OreoBrawl I've never seen Astro Boy, but I looked up Dr. Tenma, and yeah :O The resemblance is kind of scary. Perhaps they're related...? (I'm just kidding, but i'm sure someone could make a theory about that)
OreoBrawl I'ts even more interesting considering that Dr. Tenma's son died and he tried to clone him, thus creating Astro Boy. Just like Dr. Fuji was trying to do in the Pokémon anime.
OreoBrawl actually, Dr. Fuji from the Anime is a completely different character from Mr. Fuji from the games. I don't know where Mr Buddy got the idea that, Dr. Fuji from the Anime is another version of Mr. Fuji from the games.
You forgot one! There's a movie adaptation manga that basically focuses on Fuji. It changes his backstory, getting rid of the "dead daughter" aspect but somehow making it even SADDER. Basically he had befriended Mew but became so consumed with the cloning project that it left him in sorrow. Once he creates Mewtwo, it sees him as a father. But since Giovanni has taken control of the project, he demands more and more clones be made. Fuji realizes that this will make Team Rocket unstoppable, and nothing can stand in their way to take over the world. Struck by the realization that this being that views him as a father has been used as nothing but a weapon, and that he has himself to blame, he begs Mewtwo to destroy the lab, along with himself. Mewtwo initially refuses, saying it cannot harm its father. Fuji asks him to consider the fate of its unborn siblings...and boom. Mewtwo sobs its rage to the heavens in the fire of the lab, and then we cut to present day and boring ol' Ash. You should look it up!
The Mew in the Emerald event is the Mew that Fuji used to clone and make Mewtwo. He left it there on that island so it could find peace after being used in many experiments.
Isn't there a geographical location somewhere in Asia called Mt. Fuji, I always thought that GameFreak got Mr. Fuji's name from the mountain and not the plant.
Hey Mr. Buddy I really like your videos on the trainers. I've always felt like they're unappreciated like you do. It's very refreshing to see a RUclipsr who has accurate information and doesn't butcher the pronunciation of the names. I have subscribed a while ago, and now actually gave your video a thumbs up each. (which I rarely do) I can't wait to see more of these and will be attentive for their release! BTW I have a few of recommendations; Archie, Maxie, N, Red, and Blue/Gary Oak.
+Mike Vann (VannComics) Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you like em (they get sort of a mixed review whenever I upload one, so encouragement like your comment is always nice :D )! Thanks for the suggestions too! I'll definitely look into those people!
Here we go! I finally finished editing the video, and now you can see what the Character Study series is all about! Truth be told, i'm not super satisfied with this video, but I think (hope) that's just the nervousness of making a new idea and uploading it for everyone :D Surprisingly, choosing Mr. Fuji as the first character to do the video on was sort of a hard pick. I wanted to choose a character that wasn't going to get any new content or story added to them for awhile (like any sort of anime/game/manga appearances in the near future), and Mr. Fuji was just one of those characters that seems like he probably won't get any new info about him for awhile. I am a little worried that we might see a Red/Blue/Green/Yellow Remake or Sequel in the future, that will make this video outdated, but hopefully that's a while off (and not next year like I think :D).
according to the pokemon mansion journals, July 5 (the date on the photo of fuji and blaine from the manga) is the day Mew was discovered in Guyana. i think this is pretty fair confirmation that it's the same fuji.
The moment I saw Fujis picture in the lab on cinnabar for the first time, he peaked my interest and till this day he is one of the most mysterious characters to me
I’m not going to sugar-coat it. I feel bad for both Dr. Fuji and Mewtwo on both their ends. Mewtwo thought all humans were the same, but he comes to find out that not all humans are the same as us being born with the gift of life is what determines who we are and he goes on to learn with his heart what Ash’s heart knows so well, and preserves peace between himself and humans who are as kind and true-hatred as Ash, while trying to avoid Giovanni as much as possible. Dr. Fuji? He wanted to see his daughter Amber again after she was killed in a car accident or hit by a car. He dedicated his life to cloning. He agreed to help Giovanni clone a most powerful Pokémon after he funded Dr. Fuji’s project, while he would have something much more: how to clone and preserve the alternative structure, to keep the genetic double as real as the original. He had hoped to discover how Mewtwo survived the cloning process and unlock the secret, in which he could use to use that exact same thing for Amber, which was all he ever wanted, and then his wife, who loved Amber also, left him and bid him farewell leaving him a John Deere letter and her ring with the letter, even though the doctor continued on with his dedication. Dr. Fuji however didn’t die in vain, as being all he wanted was to see his daughter Amber again, and at least, in a way, he’s getting to see her again.
The mr. Fuji from the main anime seems to have been inspired by Astro Boy's Dr.Tenma both have a similar appearance. Both are men of science obsessed with bring back a child that died in an early age. Though both end up with the experiment failing, Tenma succeeds in making astro/atom. While Amber's clone dies after creation.
I just noticed something that may be totally un related, but Mr.Fuji the card is featured only in the extension packs "Mystery of the Fossils" possibly with his prior work in the labs on Cinnabar Island (where I'm sure you know you revive fossils) and in that section of cards there is also the Mew AND Ditto cards featured.. Like I said, may be a coincidence, just thought it would be fun to voice
Imagine if the creators decided to make a entire series but not with Ask but from both the manga and game where its from the actual trainers perspective
Well it’s true that we don’t know for sure if manga Fuji had connection to mewtwo We know Blane does and that in the originals (Not remakes) the journals mention discovering mew on an “expedition in South America” while the scrapbook mentioned is captioned “deep in the jungle with Mr. Fuji”, has an Amazon rainforest looking background, while they wear expedition clothing. I think it’s safe to assume there was meant to be some connection to mewtwo there. If only placed there so that true fans would think about the other cannons.
doesn't anywone think that mr fuji gives so many about the dead pokemon BEACAUSE he lost his daughter. Then ALL mr fuji's stories would connect to each other :D
I'd like to see a character analysis on Dr. Nanba from the anime. Perhaps he worked with Fuji in the creation of mewtwo? He was trying to capture Lapras.
So Mr. Fuji supposedly used his own DNA to create Mewtwo, and Blane did the same, which is why they mention they are degenerating for some reason... but that little short origin story shows a Fuji trying to revive his daughter, or create another version of her, and accidetanlly creates a Mewtwo that rampages? But there are strong evidence that the Mewtwo they show in the series is not the only one... even if, somehow, it changed genders. I'm serious. It's a male in the first movie and a female in Mewtwo vs Genesect or something, the one where Mega Mewotwo first appears.
Mr. fuji's name could have been based off of Mount Fuji in Japan. Mt. Fuji is beautiful looking, but it is a very destructive active volcano. Hope this will help.
+Mr Buddy This might be a little late, however, I just watched this video. After doing so I had an interesting idea that you may be able to do a theory on. The idea is this. The burned mansion from the original pokemon games was also the lab that Mewtwo was created in. I know there probably is not much evidence to support this, however, I feel it is a viable idea. Mewtwo unleashing its power could have been what caused the mansion to catch fire, and could also cause a tetonic shift that would result in the Cinibar Volcano erupting between red/blue, and gold/silver. Just an idea as I said. Please let me know what you think.
Jamie I think your theory is pretty good! I might be mis-remembering (I'll have to double check on this), but don't the journals found in the Pokemon mansion confirm that mewtwo was created in there (and sort of blew it all up)? I feel like they might confirm or say something like that, but if they don't, then it's definitely a pretty plausible theory you have!
+Mr Buddy I don't recall exactly either. I would have to go there on my Leaf Green to be sure. I know a lot of them talk about finding Mew, and the creation of Mewtwo I just don't remember if they state where Mewtwo was made.
I already commented on this but I didn't see my comment, so let's try again lol. Anyway this is a really interesting idea for videos! If I could make a suggestion for a character, how about Mr Pokemon. As far as i know he has only apeared in G/S/C to give you the mysterious egg. Beyond that we really don't know. Much about him. But that just my suggestion
amiandivh That could be an interesting one to do! I'm not sure if there's too much info about him (I don't think he ever appears in the manga or Anime), but it would be cool to explore his character!
BuggytheStar A vote would be a cool thing to set up! I'm not sure if enough people will vote to get good results though :s I semi agree that going from a Gen 1 character to a Gen IV character is sort of a leap, but I don't want to do a lot of characters from the same gen in a row. I think I get what you're saying though. Do you have any suggestions for a character I should do?
Mr Buddy I think you should do the main charactors of the games respectivly, and then smaller charactors. Like Red, and then maybe some other charactors, like Giovanii.
GhastsStudio Main characters have been researched enough by all of us, since you see them all the time, don't you think? Personally I liked the idea of going in-depth on a character like mr. Fuji, who doesn't play a major role in the game/manga/anime storyline, but is interesting enough in his own way. And you will learn a fact or two you didn't know before. But there are more characters like this, in the first and every following generation. Maybe you could do Daisy, Bill or Giovanni (his pokemon special version is especially interesting and he one of my favourite manga characters) next time.
But in the manga, Blaine created Mewtwo and if he was photographed in a JUNGLE, like the kinda place Mew would live, with him then it could allude to something
Pokemon theorist That could be an interesting one to do! I believe that in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and X/Y (I hope you played one of those games, because there's going to be a spoiler about them below.) they talk about them. Spoilers Below! My details might be a little hazy, but I believe that in the Delta Episode of OR/AS, it's revealed that Rayquaza Mega Evolved long before the modern pokemon world (perhaps like 1,000ish years or so. I'll have to look it up for the exact date) to protect the Draconid people, so Mega Rayquaza has been a thing for a long time before OR/AS. In X/Y, the Tower of Mastery seems to indicate that Mega Evolution has been around for a lot longer than just when the events of X/Y take place. I might be wrong on the timeframe of this, but I believe it's said that it was made a "long time ago" to "study mega evolution. In the Tower is Korrina's Grandfather "Gurkinn", who is said to be a descendant of the first Trainer to use Mega Evolution. So, I think it's safe to say that Mega Evolution has been around awhile, because it's been passed on from Gurkinns ancestor, to Gurkinn, to Korrina. At least in terms of Trainers being able to utilize it. Mega Rayquaza still holds the title of First Mega Evolved Pokemon, as it mega evolved long before (1000ish years possibly) humans ever did mega evolution.
Thanks for the explaining mr buddy luckily I played y and omega ruby when I did play omega ruby I did pick up on the part where it did say the so many years for the mega evolution, what makes the theory that I have appointed is how did mr Fuji get the mega Charizard x stone in the first place, and how long has mr Fuji been around is the even better question was it on an expedition when mining or exploring and he found it that's the bigger question for me, now another thing did he only find that mega stone or was that the only stone he found
SastnTsukiGaming He might be! I've been thinking about how to handle Red, as he has so many versions (Game Red, Manga Red, Ash, Origins, and like 5 others) that have a lot of history behind them. I'm not sure If I want to try and condense all of them into one video, or make like a specific video on Ash, and then one for Manga Red, then one for all the others. It might be awhile before I figure out what to do with him, so I don't know if I'll do Red next or not.
The End.

Fuji + Blaine = MewTwo ...?
Somehow
will Red be next since he's your profile pic?
SastnTsukiGaming He might be! I've been thinking about how to handle Red, as he has so many versions (Game Red, Manga Red, Ash, Origins, and like 5 others) that have a lot of history behind them. I'm not sure If I want to try and condense all of them into one video, or make like a specific video on Ash, and then one for Manga Red, then one for all the others. It might be awhile before I figure out what to do with him, so I don't know if I'll do Red next or not.
Mr Buddy all the reds are pretty different, especially since you are him in some games xD
Mr Buddy a nude yyy
I MEAN SAMUEL OAK
What about the one shot birth of mewtwo manfa version?
Um.... Ruby and Sapphire?
I liked Origins until they made it into a commercial for gen 6 betraying the very idea of a faithful adaptation of gen 1. Because gen 6 is evil.
