My avocado is about 18 cm long and the roots are about 10. How can I put the avocado into smaller pot if the roots are this long? Can I shorten them or?

Hi, As I know, you can cut thicker roots - they serve for plant stability, thinner roots serve to collect water and nutrients from the soil. so you can shorten just be careful not to shorten the thin roots too much.

Hi, thank you so much, will be :) I cut the top of all 3 avocados. Now new branches are starting to grow slowly. I'll wait another month or so. This is enough stress for them.
