This dress would work in a decent cotton too I think or a sheet from a charity shop for those who can't afford linen. I often buy sheets to use in quilting and sometimes dye them using shibori techniques, it keeps the price down

Sewing this dress by hand is totally an option!! I’m traveling and so don’t have access to my machine, and I’m totally planning on hand sewing some garments.
Downloaded, printed, pattern cut and sewing together tomorrow. Didn't have quite enough fabric and had to patch some fabric together but I figure that will give it a nice unique finish.
I love this dress and can't wait to make it. I don't see the amount of fabric required though. Any thoughts on how many meters I would require for a medium dress? Thanks!
I've made a medium with between 2.5 and 3 yards of 59" wide fabric, depending on how creative you want to be it could potentially work even with 2 yards if you're comfortable piecing things together as I do a bit here, but I'd stick with 2.5-3 to be safe. Happy sewing!

Hi Ella, I tried to sew a similar linen dress but I used a too much fabric for skirt (almost 120cm wide) and now it doesn´t look nice. Can you tell me how wide was your skirt or each panel for skirt? :) Thanks!
Yes that might be a bit too wide, the tops of my skirts before gathering are generally around 35"-40" (88-101 cm)
why that type of sewing machine? where were you able to get from? ❤️
Do a search for Singer.
What is the point of having the back in two pieces?
Do you design all your patterns? With paper?
Hi
May I ask where do you recommend to get such light weight linen fabric? T Y :)
Have put the link in the description
@@EllaHarp I will look !
How many yards/metres of any fabric would I need for an XL or XXL dress pattern?
If using 59" wide fabric, I'd estimate probably 4-4.5 yards to be super safe
The pattern only shows the skirt front, is this cut on a fold twice to make the front and back?
Correct! The note in the pattern is not the clearest, and can easily be missed. Happy sewing!
Do you mark the front and back?
The back is cut down the center so I don't have issues setting it apart from the front
I really can’t figure out how to get this pattern! Help!
Did the email not arrive? For some reason it doesn't always work for everyone, but if you shoot me an email I'll send it through
The Flax Company has dresses like that I've bought for years.
Why do you make such a large hem?
I love the weight of a heavy hem
what was the waterproof layer?
What are you talking about exactly?
There is no opportunity to download dress pattern from the site
Did you find your way to the pattern download on the site and not get the email?
Where is the pattern?
Ella muito bonita,mas, look too

FROM A DIFFERENT GENERATION CAUSE I WOULD HAVE TO IRON FABRIC FIRST AND BEFORE I WORE IT.
Lovely!
Gah! Love the dress and instructions but did you ever press any of the seams? By the look of the linen fabric, you did not 😨
By the look of the fabric I obviously did not, but by the look of the finished dress one can't tell so I skip ironing personally. That said, go forth and do as you prefer!
The triangle patch makes the dresses look like badges sewn onto WW2 Roma concentration camp prisoner garments. A bit scary!
Linen is very expensive. You must be rich.
This is two yards of fabric, cost about $25. A $25 dress is on par with Walmart prices.
Why would anybody want to dress like an Amish?
Why would anybody want to take time out of their day to insult both the people who like this style AND the Amish? I guess it takes all kinds...
Because I have better things to do than think about what I'm wearing. Gimme the same Amish thing to wear everyday.
